2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂
roversfan99 replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Aside from that last season when he spent most of it injured, Gallagher tended to score around 9 goals a season. Still not many but more than Gueye. Neither is MILES better than the other, both are pretty poor. You say goal instinct and touch of a centre half, Gueye plays with that too. I know you nailed your colours to the mast by eulogising over Gueye after 20 minutes of a friendly but he is not good enough. He summed himself up yesterday when he lacked the intelligence to even try and stay onside before blazing his finish over. -

I suspect we could sign a 70 year old and because any balance has long gone with you and Gallagher, you would still take the 70 year old. -

To be fair, before he became so injury prone he was better than Gueye. -

He also said yesterday that Travis had let his team mates down. Just seems unnecessary, didnt have to say that. But as I said, its not what Ismael has said that doesnt sit right. That twitter account is clearly beyond just your average ITK. Its clearly someone on the inside that has got every single thing right that he/she has said. But is clearly either trying or is under instruction to try and make those leaving seem unreasonable/unprofessional to turn fans against then. Nothing to do with an agenda. Its not how a football club should be operating, posting things like that behind a cryptic twitter account. You look at Everton at the moment. Moyes has mentioned a potential leak of transfer info etc so is trying to flush it out. Any club would. This club is proactively leaking this info to make itself look as positive as it can despite shedding so many key players and being totally incapable of sorting new contracts. -

Those players will probably struggle to make match day squads once everyone is fit and may even leave when they inevitably sign more players this week. -

Travis certainly has. To have Ismael repeatedly calling him out in the press and worse still, to have someone internal hiding behind that anonymous privy twitter account tweeting about him (and Brittain) is just totally lacking class. He happily played against West Brom despite rumours and we know what this club is like. Still, attempts to make him seem the villain seem to have partly worked and some idiots will be ordering one more inflatable snake for the Derby game. -

When he went through, his attempts or lack of to remain offside were really poor. -

We badly need a striker. Regardless of sales, but I would happily let Gueye go. No excuse not to get one. We wanted one at the start of the summer, and nothing has happened to reduce that need. -
Championship Season 25-26

I wonder whether Wrexham get rid of Parkinson assuming results continue. Some of their signings are really good and they certainly have a very strong squad at this level. They keep conceding late on and also the choice to start Ward in net will keep costing them. Parkinson has proven before that he often struggles at this level, and although he has a very strong Championship squad likely to be strengthened further, one a good manager could really push on, they arent levels above most of the league like they have been in the past so it requires better management. That being said, its hard to read their owners. Theyve obviously transformed that club but I wonder if their achilles heel will be being too loyal. -

There would be absolutely no viable reason to go for Dennis. He had one good season quite a while ago and has had various poor loan spells, was dreadul for us and is on massive wages. -

I dont think Gueye will leave but I would happy to move him on and replace him as he isnt good enough. Ismael has mentioned only signing 1 and replacing any outgoings but I wonder quite how that applies. For example, will Travis still be replaced as we are still one light especially with Baradji injured, or is he considered the replacement? I suspect the latter. And will players like Buckley and Leonard be replaced considering that they arent in the first team squad to begin with? We need more players but I suspect they wont be with that being the rationale. Maybe even Pears too. Hyam would surely be replaced but very difficult to get someone as good, especially when we cant offer competitive wages. -

Also, would make no sense replacing a right footer with a left. -
The difference between those 2 is that Wolves' manager did a brilliant job last season, so that would be very much based on 2 games. Potter has been shit throughout his time there.

Losing Hyam would be a massive and totally unacceptable blow and would massively weaken us. His experience and quality is even more important considering what has been stripped away. He is a very good defender at this level and he seems to be always available. He seems willing to sign a new deal. We have stripped away so much experience and have made big savings. There is no excuse not to chuck an improved contract at him. Sadly, we dont seem interested in keeping key players. Ismael did an excellent job in organising the team today but I found his comments about Travis "letting down the team" to be totally unnecessary, certainly without any further detail. He seems willing to do as he is told publically and try and make outgoing players seem like the villains of the piece. -

I think it would be totally underappreciating how good Brittain was to suggest that Alebiosu is better. He was probably the best right back in the league behind Bogle last season. Going forward, fantastic, and much more solid defensively. Its no insult to Alebiousu to not compare him favourably. There is definitely something to work with. His positioning is questionable but he is used to playing at wing back and his pace can often get him out of trouble. And he isnt the most refined in attack but he will be a threat again purely due to his pace and power. For the third today, his initial touch was shocking but his power bundled hin through and we got a goal from it. -

Brilliant performance and much needed result. To be quite honest, probably flattered Hull. Cantwell was absolutely outstanding, totally ran the game. Fair play to Hedges to, one swallow doesnt make a summer and I still dont think hes good enough across a season but beyond his very well taken goal and assist, I thought he was far more positive and direct. 3 other players who I thought were really good who perhaps wont get the plaudits. Tronstad I thought was brilliant, back to his best. I also thought the 2 centre backs were really good, McLoughlin is a good pick up and perhaps by accident that we got Championship know how despite him not being first choice, and also Hyam who never gets the credit he deserves but was very solid. Theres no excuse not to give Hyam and Tronstad the money they deserve as their importance has only increased but it wont happen. Elsewhere, Tavares I think looks a good footballer and a signing we can be optimistic about, but isnt as clever in terms of making silly challenges and lacks the intelligence of Travis. I really hope he isnt injured especially as with us signing Baradji injured we would look exposed there. Kargbo is a weird player, certainly offers a threat and some good attributes but poor decision making and seemed reluctant to run at his man, he had heavy strapping on so maybe hes playing with an injury. Great pass for the first goal. Theres definitely something to work with with Alebiosu too, so quick and direct although the third came from a terrible touch which he managed to bundle his way out of through sheer power. Positioning defensively can be found wanting but his recovery speed can often get him out of trouble. Still doesnt change that we need a number of signings and it hasnt changed my opinion massively on anyone, but it is a really good feeling and it was a much needed win and a pleasure to watch. -

Good away first half performance. Hedges has played well and has got his customary, solitary goal a season away from home early on. Still not creating much but its the kind of performance that under Eustace with some of the experienced departed players, youd have confidence in us seeing out. We did last year. I dont have that confidence at this stage under Ismael with these players, we showed last week what can happen. Big acid test to see if we can manage the game and grind it out. -

Big blow for Hull with Charlie Hughes out ill and 2 other senior centre backs also out. Really need to be getting a win. Dont want to start to be cut adrift of direct potential relegation rivals so soon. -

He never ever played like he couldnt be bothered. He seemed like he loved playing for us, but as ever, our terrible owners/board and inability to pay competitive wages meant that he left. -

Tom Cairney I think? Might be wrong but think it was a loan that turned into a buy. Majority of loans are ones the parent club are just developing so there isnt an option. -
Championship Season 25-26
roversfan99 replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I did. And to be fair, Morris has started well. The other 5 players I named arent fit, there is also their other striker Salvesen. Plus they have signings to come. So I suspect things will look different soon. They have a very good manager who should still be managing us if we had competent owners and a competent board and instead, we have a far inferior replacement. -
They do need new players aswell. Not doubting that. Similarly to what you was doing last week for our game. The game didnt turn out like that, they got battered. They totally crumbled, didnt look like a team playing for the manager and didnt look like a team that was well organised or knew/was capable of doing what it was asked. Its a continuation of the poor results and performances since he joined.
