The year when we nearly went down? All I am saying is that there is no point downplaying that some of the players we have lost were important players for us. We have people even implying that Brittain wasnt as good as he was. Most if not all teams will have lost players that were important to them last season.

The right back situation is an important one into next week. West Brom are really strong out wide. We cant be playing Montgomery there. Hes a young midfielder filling in and he will likely get run ragged. Miller seems unlikely to be fit even if hes signed imminently and he looks to be our most likely first choice so Alebiousu should be used there.

Brittain, Batth, Beck and Dolan were all part of our best 11 last season and will be huge misses. Weimann will also be a miss as a squad player who can pop up with goals. No point pretending otherwise.

West Brom have signed 3 players. Nat Phillips who had a really strong spell at Derby. Another defender from the MLS and a striker for big money from Scandanavia. They already have a strong core full of Championship proven players and a couple of really direct wide players.

So you still want 3 including Miller (so presumably once Miller and Henriksson sign, just another right winger). Ok. Doesnt explain the need to repeatedly type out your constantly changing "squad plans" which dont even match up to this. Wasting your time and constantly moving the goalposts.

You said you would be happy with 3 including Miller covering right back and centre back. I contested such a low number, you then totally moved the goalposts and created another "squad plan" with 5 new additions rather than the initial 3 you said you felt that we needed, yet continued with your initial argument. So you now dont think 3 is enough and youve added 2 more.

If we lost those 2 and maybe Tronstad as well, then we really would struggle. The Hyam contract situation certainly has gone cold again.

The right winger wouldnt need to be one that goes on the outside but we still need an actual right sided player who is a natural attacking player. These are both central midfield players who seemingly have very little if any experience of playing away from that position. And one would be sat on the sidelines for months. If anything, with someone like De Neve on the left, a player who has spent a lot of time as a left back and who isnt someone who has scored many goals. It puts more onus on the right sided player offering a goal threat. We need an attacking right sided player (and a striker) and if your proposed plan is correct then we will be left short.

I get that there is a chance of them 2 both going. But there is no suggestion of any club being strongly interested in either. So it just seems a strange utilisation of limited funds. Also makes no sense to spend a chunk of a limited budget on a player who wont be fit for months. I wonder if Nixon is just not up to speed, he hasnt reported on this Swede so I wonder if we moved on. He holds his stories until Sunday so maybe its just out of date.

That I want? You are missing the point. You said we need 3 and then named your new squad showing our depth with 5 new signings in it.

This Henriksson similar to a few of our signings seems to have a mixture of things to be positive out and potential concerns in equal measure. His goal record is really promising, hes of a good age, hes tall, and from the very few comments I have seen from fans of his club say positive things about him. He also seems to be more attacking than Baradji. Obviously the main question is again adaptation to the league and how his performances in a weaker league will translate. Availability is also a concern, espcially considering his chrons and how that will affect things. Less of a concern and more of a question, I also do wonder how he will fit in and which position (deeper or behind the striker) he is being earmarked for as he seems to be inbetween those. The key is still to bring in attacking players. Going into the season having not done so especially wide right is not good.

There does seem to be a pattern of us targetting not only players based on their physicality but tall players. I am not sure how much threat they will offer at set pieces, for example McLoughlin didnt score in 6 years at Hull, but we will see. But for them to do so here, one thing we really are lacking in the squad is a set piece taker. Amidst talk of whether we are covered in each position, its a skill thats been neglected. I really think it should be a key skill we bring in this window.

Have you seen lots of him? If so, considering we play 2 deeper midfielders and one further forward. Which of those would you consider him to be more likely to play here, the more attacking one? And is he stand out in that league and do you think he can do it in the Championship?

If those preparations are true, then that outshines any potential performance issues because if we are cutting corners to save money to that degree, how will we prepare for away games during the season? Embarassing. How did Alebiousu look in the half that he played? Seems like De Neve didnt impress and Tavares didnt have time.

Again the risk would be him coming from a weaker league and whether he could translate his impressive numbers over. Seems more attacking than Baradji. Just a few points on what Ismael said today. Firstly obviously good news that we are close to a second player as well as Miller. We need a lot more but its a start. I was hoping that it would be a right winger but seemingly its more likely to be a midfielder. Our attack is badly short. Ismael suggested that the Brittain sale has helped us in the market. That doesnt fit in with what Gestede has said in the past. The Pears situation is strange. Understand freezing Buckley out, but we need a senior seconr choice, we cant have a kid in that position so if Pears goes then he needs replacing. Wonder if it is related to the hair transplant, or if he has reacted negatively to being potentially second choice. Ismael also again mentioned "mistakes in the past" regarding contracts. He is in fot a shock unfortunately, there is no sign that we will learn from these mistakes. No contracts signed including Hyam who ws "close" weeks ago.

I was going to ask whether as someone who predicted a mid table finish, whether surely 2 or 3 extra bits of quality on top of the 3 you would be happy with could potentially push us up and around the top 6. You have then done yet another squad list, where you have added 5 new players, and continued with the same argument?

I have never once suggested that either should never be given a chance. You purposely manipulate what I say to justify us half arsing recruitment and not bringing in enough players.
