https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24049327.jon-dahl-tomasson-offers-hint-blackburn-rovers-tactics/ For all of us asking him to tighten things up with an extra defensive mid or 3 at the back it seems the answer appears to be 'No' (albeit he doesn't actually say those words). Not sure where we go from here other than hope the players somehow make it work before we end up in the relegation zone?

He said on radio lancs after the Rotherham game “We know we have to take a 2 goal lead to win games” or something to that effect. The commentators were staggered at the admission particularly Kevin Gallacher. He won’t change I don’t think. -

Prior to that run we lost 5 out of 6 league games starting from September. But JDT doesn’t mention that in his interviews so it doesn’t get parroted back on here. -

if we can’t afford to pay the heating bills then I doubt we can afford to sack him. If we did it would probably mean selling Gallagher just to pay him off. The home form has been shocking all season and over Xmas the away form has gone the same way. I honestly feel like it’s a relegation season. Too many drawn in by JdT’s media skills and ignorant of his failure to get the best out of the players we have. -

Relegation here we come. The most worrying thing about this bad run is nobody at the club seems to really care or acknowledge how bad things are. The manager never takes any responsibility and am sure post match he will blame recruitment rather than his suicidal tactics. The players seem to still think we are playoff candidates. The directors seem more keen to loan or sell players than results on the pitch. The owners seem more bothered about court cases than the club. Where does that leave us fans? None of the above give two hoots about us other than that we all blindly clap along accepting it all. -

I would bet that if Gallagher goes it’s purely for financial reasons. In the summer they likely anticipate another 20% budget cut or some nonsense and therefore won’t do his 12 month extension given his high earner status. So they sell him now and get some money rather than nothing. it won’t be reinvested and just offset against the bills, meanwhile his wage is freed up for yet another schoolboy loan for 6 months. eventually there will be nothing left to sell or cut. -

Back in the day Jason Roberts did a video for BBC football skills on how to convert a one-on-one. I couldnt think of anyone worse for missing them 🤣 -

Morton was an enigma to me having watched him at Ewood over a full season. I still believe there was some sort of deal where he had to play. He couldn’t defend or tackle. He didn’t assist or score. Instead he just existed in the middle and recycled possession like it was a hot potato. Wharton and Tronstad are massive upgrades on him in my opinion. Fair play if he makes it in the prem but he showed nothing at rovers to make me think he will. -

Agree Moran has been terrible for a while now but seems to keep getting picked, I think when we get everyone back fit he will hardly feature. -

Im not really sure what a good striker would look like in a JDT team. The role seems to be more about pressing and creating opportunities for the wide players/Szmodic than getting in the box. Something Dolan did well in his stint there. The cross and headed finish from Leonard on Saturday was the first time I had seen us with some traditional forward play in ages. -

I can't realistically see Ennis leaving given how threadbare our forward line is, even when Gallagher comes back its just a matter of time till he gets injured again. -

Fortunately Tronstad has shown to be fairly robust in his first season but knowing our luck will now be ruled out for the season on the 1st Feb. Have the club stated they will replace Travis or is it just accepted that Garrett got a promotion and some other midfielder from the reserves is 3rd in line? -

My point was Travis was given to him and he didn’t use him this season. I never mentioned anyone else other than Kaminski which is the same point. He can’t moan about experience when he overlooks it or moves it on. He should just say I don’t rate them and want somebody else instead. its PR bullshit -

He moans after every game that we don’t have ‘experience’ or about the average age of our team do you not listen to his interviews? Travis has 200 rovers appearances so yes I would class him as our most experienced player. Kaminski was clearly dropped for Pears which you have stated in the same sentence. He got back fit and couldn't get back in? Same thing surely. “100% the right thing to do” you seriously believe that? -

JDT is 5 star at media and pr, it’s always someone else’s fault or issue. He wants experience but won’t play and then sells our captain and most experienced player. Same with Kaminski last season who he dropped for Pears. We are going to end up with a team of kids and weak loan players before crashing into league 1. Then he leaves and it was all for nothing whilst chasing his dream of playing with ‘style’. -

Great a tough tackling experienced centre mid leaves the club and we replace him with another weakling little boy who needs to up his shredded wheat intake. what a club we support -

Yeah I get the argument for that. For me the positions he occupies on the pitch makes me consider him more of the attacking forward 4 than in midfield. -

Wharton can’t play the Tronstad role, his tackling, stamina and defensive positioning is nowhere near good enough. When he tried it earlier this season we got murdered even more than we do lately. Travis has all the right attributes but is poor at taking on the ball under pressure. If we played 3 in midfield then Tronstad or Wharton could do this bit and we overall massively improve the defensive side of our game. This should be the change we make to stop the rot this season. But JdT has shown no willingness to adapt and it instead looks like we will sell one of our best midfielders. we will regret it -

Won’t be attending, not because of the digital fiasco but just because it’s been so poor at Ewood for so long. If it wasn’t for my season ticket would prob take a break from it for a few months. As a knock on effect we will probably play out of our skin and win 10-0 now 😂 -

Not sure if it’s possible but the only other option I could see is to take a loan out on the back of the Raya money coming in July. Or agree to defer payments with clubs till then. In all likelihood it just means we won’t be signing anyone of any value in this window. Just be wages only type deals. -
I always got the impression Ben wanted the Spanish lifestyle and even if he wasn't getting regular game time would ride it out rather than come back home. The links to the Spanish club were around for years till he finally moved so he obviously fancied it out there. Only been six months or so, no time at all for him to find his feet.

We don't even have any money to pay the bills till the Indian High Court hears the case for the next round of funds needed. I think Waggot said the last lot ran till the end of December so we are already in the brown stuff. Anyone going out the door won't be replaced and the cash just offset against the running costs. On that basis I would be dead set against selling players or ending loans as we will just end up in an even worse position. One injury to Tronstad and we are crying out for Travis (we already are in my opinion and would go to 3 in midfield with Travis back in).
