I did reply in the FF thread, but, appreciate it may have been missed. Rudy Gestede is currently shadowing Steve Waggott, as I think he’s after going into the boardroom at a club, eventually.

That first goal was just everything good about Szmodics in one move. Sent Vestergaard for a hot dog, then ran half the length of the pitch to score. So much for him to do, but he was never going to give it up, without scoring. The graft of a shit player, who’s making up for shortcomings elsewhere in their game and the craft of a real goal scorer. He’s just been incredible for us this season.

My old man is a PNE fan and he’s very much Lowe out. I did try to say, they finished 10th, that’s probably about as good as, maybe even better than their squad suggests. (I.E, do they have the 10th best squad in the league or not?).

Is it any wonder he gets criticism, with his record since coming in? Christ.

A relief we’ve stayed up, nothing more. If we don’t sign some new players that are any good, we’re in big trouble next season. We won’t see any more of Sammie in a Rovers shirt, let’s be honest, but he absolutely goes with my blessing, the guy is unbelievable. He plays with the spirit of a fan, his effort, his determination and obviously his goal scoring just set the tone for the team.

Turns out our planning for food is still as good as ever. We’d run out of pies, the pie mash and gravy trays and hot dogs before half time yesterday. You’d have thought the club would know what the attendance was, ahead of kick off, yesterday….

Worry for me is that there’s no plan, no intention to succeed and no ambition. As well as obviously feeling we won’t get any of the Wharton, Raya, or likely Szmodics cash to go back into the squad, I just wonder what the point of it all is tbh. My mate I sit with is the same and this is two people who’ve had season tickets for 30+ years and I imagine, others will be the same.

I don’t think it’s that deep tbh mate. I imagine Gestede still knows someone at the club and they’ve put a word in for him.
