  1. Not meaning to try and trigger anyone, but I reckon if Scott Wharton wasn’t local, people would be a lot less forgiving of his mistakes…. (Unfortunately, there are a few).
  2. Safe to say, it’s probably game over. For those that can’t appreciate context, I’d love to be proven wrong.
  3. Thought it was either a red or a pen and not both these days? Either way, if that’s not the case, even if it’s soft, I’d say it’s the right call.
  4. Been watching this Middlesbrough and Sheffield United match for about ten minutes and can see exactly why Sheff U are where they are. They just don’t defend. Clearly isn’t in vogue with all these new coaches, but honestly, they’re wide open.
  5. He’s petulant, but he’s one of their best players, if not the best. Absolute classic United to nullify him in a new system and cut down on his goals and assists.
  6. I park in the hood on Infirmary Street. A fair walk to the ground, but I find it quick getting away and I’m never stuck in any traffic after.
  7. People keep re packaging criticism as ‘abuse’ and saying players are being abused, when it just isn’t true. The link with that to players being ‘written off’, was people re defining words to suit arguments.
  8. I don’t think this is true at all. But it is another case of words and phrases being re defined to suit arguments, also see the word ‘abuse’.
  9. Maybe in the supermarket.... (I'll get me coat).
  10. As I mentioned in a separate post, it's effectively philanthropy, they won't get that money back, it's gone. It bothers me, sure, but they will never see it again.
  11. Owning a football club unless you're one of about five, that actually makes loads of money, is effectively an exercise in philanthropy. I.E.- you're gonna lose a lot of money if it's your plaything. If that doesn't sound good to someone, it's probably not for them.
  12. If they're insisting on owning the club, then surely we can insist on them funding it? If not, then they should sell. Straightforward. really!
  13. It absolutely blows my mind that anyone is praising Mowbray for not taking more money to improve the squad, in attempts to have a better chance of being promoted. Especially someone who goes everywhere following The Rovers!
  14. Yes you are, it's just deemed as being a bit weird that you change it to something different, but that hasn't been stopped either.
  15. So, let's pretend this isn't football. You're being treated badly at work, you are a popular member of staff, made redundant and then (allegedly) replaced by someone close to a member of senior management. Not think they've a right to have their say? Or even, people not being paid what counterparts doing the same job at other firms are, seek parity with their peers, they get said parity only to be villainised. Football is a job to these guys.
  16. So, let me get this straight. It's now the fault of Brittain, Dolan, Travis and the former player liaison officer for being bitter, greedy, or whatever else and not those in charge who've been clueless since pretty much when they arrived, have a plan? This a parallel universe?
  17. There were so many of these at the gig, it was unreal! In fact, there were tons of the classic ones with Guinness sponsors on the front, too. I'm too old and not in the right enough shape for a footy shirt nowadays anyway 😅.
  18. Nicely put. But, I still think a simpler explanation is that Ismael was told that he needed to get rid of players we could get a fee for and replace them with players that cost and earn less.
  19. I think you're giving them too much credit. They want players that are cheap and managers that are willing to work under the skinflint structure. We aren't set up to push on from a position of strength, only to tread water. Close to the play offs last season? Let's sell the players that got us there. Close to the play offs before that? The aim for the next season? Avoid relegation. I really hope these players turn out to be class and better than those they've replaced, but even if they are, we'll just sell them and then start again. If we aren't giving it our all to get promoted all the time, what's the point?
  20. It's not abuse, it's just piss taking. The guy is absolutely delusional about numerous things, so people find it funny when he fails. Not all that complicated. really.
  21. Imagine that, Rovers fans on a Rovers message board being unhappy that we’ve appointed a poor manager. Whatever next?
  22. By selling one of our best players and replacing him with someone that’s injured? (Unless I’m confusing Baradji with someone else).
  23. In fairness, he did swear on his daughter’s life 😅.
  24. Not quite- still playing in Mexico, at Monterrey.
  25. Yes, definitely. Especially when you don't get Sports with it at that price and people will want other subscriptions that are all £10 a month as well (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Discovery + etc).
