You say 'without names' - well you got one with JRC and before reported anywhere else (took Jackson almost 2 days to even confirm). Posted about a 2nd signing before reported anywhere else - I was given the player (Baradji) but given sensitivities (other clubs' interest) didn't reveal. Told Brittain was 'done and dusted' and the club's plan was to announce along with the 2 new signings prior to Stanley game. Clearly, a spanner has been thrown into the works with subsequent offers from Derby and Middlesbrough and whether a new contract has been signed or not is now irrelevant as I think it's clear he views other clubs as better options and wants away. As for your comment "stop living off the Rhodes one" - I don't 'live off' anything connected to Rovers. I post on here in good faith both with opinions and also anything I may 'hear' that could be posted on a MB (some things I hear can't be posted for obvious reasons). Some things I post prove to be correct (another being Battersby & associates attempts to buy into Rovers some years ago - took media 3 or 4 days to catch up on that one) and some things I post don't happen - such is football!

Think you are absolutely right. Alebiosu not good enough for a relegated Belgian Pro League side and loaned to St Mirren who I doubt would even survive in the Championship. Doubt we've paid more than £200k for the lad and would think we've signed 3 cheap, unproven and virtually unkown players for about £750k up front. These are not signings of the Tronstad, Sigurdsson ilk. Very much doubt any of Alebiosu, De Neve, Tavares good enough to hold down a place in our starting 11.

History is littered with accounting scandals where the accounts have not represented reality with huge anomalies coming to light causing huge issues - needless to say, big firms of external auditors were hauled over the coals. If you are interested then in the UK look at the history around BHS, Carillion, Patisserie Valerie, Post Office Horizon Scandal and Tesco. Further afield, look to the US and Enron, Lehman Bros and WorldCom. In my career, I have sat on opposite sides of the table and I can tell you it is not difficult to play a few tunes with the accounts without resorting to irregular practices and it wasn't too difficult to 'pull the wool' over the eyes of the external auditors. I would be intrigued to see the 'books' of Rovers.

Both JRC and Buckley, like Dolan, progressed through 'the ranks' and we know what Rovers' pay policy seems to be with those type of lads. Although I understand JRC and Buckley earn sizeably more than Dolan did, I think you will find both are some distance away from Rovers' alleged new wage cap of £10k per week. Not as difficult to shift as you might think.

Without doubt, our 3 key players are Brittain, Travis and Tronstad - all 30 or under. Without those 3, even with average replacements, I think we would be sunk. I don't think the age argument has any mileage. Take the current PL Champions - arguably, their 3 key players are Alisson (32), VVD (34) and Salah (33). Can you imagine the uproar if Liverpool lost those 3 players. They are the glue that binds together the rest of the team and makes them the unit they are. It would be devastating if we lost 1 of our 3 key players, disastrous if we lost 2 and catastrophic if we lost all 3. Does anyone really believe we would replace any of them with even half decent players given the cheap and unproven, and sometimes unwanted by any other clubs, signings we are making.

I think the two aspects of Dolan's game that hold him back are both his lack of pace and football intelligence and hence the poor decision making you refer to. If Dolan can secure a 3 or 4 year deal at upwards of £10k per week, I'd be advising him to snap their hands off.

Let's be realistic, PL isn't going to happen for Dolan - if it was, would have happened by now. Similarly, other than Turkey, there has seemingly been no interest from Europe. Agree with @Tyrone Shoelacesand @philiplabout Turkey and feel Dolan would really struggle there - if his agent truly has Dolan's interests at heart, he'll steer him away from that one. So that leaves the Championship where teams have been back in training for 2 to 3 weeks. The clock is now rapidly counting down for Dolan and if the likes of Derby, Norwich and Bristol City are options then he may well need to water down his demands. Think realism called for from both Dolan and agent rather than financial greed.

Agree, we were abysmal. From memory, think Bury still went down. The Bulls Head was a favourite haunt for Howard Kendall and Mick Heaton who in those days seemed to be joined at the hip!

Who would want to sign Cantwell on those wages after the season he had with us? A performance level last season similar to Brittain, Travis, Tronstad etc then I think he would be well down the road by now!

Read the LT and key bits to me are: Tronstad: 'There are no direct negotiations yet over the terms of any new deal. It's not a back-and-forth dialogue over numbers, length or structure of the contract yet' Staggeringly bad. Travis: 'It's understood that numbers have been discussed but a written offer hasn't been made to be accepted or rejected, at this stage. He is not pushing to leave the club but any renewal has to be right for all parties, with Travis one of Blackburn's top earners already'. My view, Rovers know what Travis wants and wont play ball - any renewal has to be right for all parties, pitch rolling for departure, 'the player wanted too much'! Brittain: 'Though there's been no indication that negotiations have stalled but, equally, there's been no official announcement that he has signed up'. Think Brittain and agent looking to see what's out there. IMO, all in all, totally unacceptable and unprofessional.

A silly lad. At least the 'one year wonder' played a key part in getting us out the old Third Division. He got both of our goals on the night we clinched promotion at Gigg Lane - a great night that and I think we had almost 10,000 fans there that night. I ended up back at Bulls Head, Wilpshire where players and management also turned-up for celebrations that went on into the early hours with the doors locked! He should have listened to Howard Kendall who would have further improved him and opened-up doors which the lad could only mistakenly fantasise about. Can't remember where he ended up after his 'hissy fit' but it was all downhill thereafter.

Lot of dosh but at 23, a full Danish international with over 100 games with Brondby and 20+ goals for them last season, I'd say it's a fair punt. Even if they are selling Sargent, at least they are reinvesting which is more than Rovers do!!!!

Seems to be Elche but LT confused with dates I think!!! : Rovers' marquee fixture is against Spanish club Elche. They were promoted from the Segunda Division last season after finishing runner-up to Levante. Bambo Diaby is a recognisable name after his exploits in England with Preston North End and Sheffield Wednesday. They are managed by Eder Sarabia, who has been in charge for the last 12 months. That match will be played on Friday, August 25 and will also kick-off at 7pm. Supporters are invited to fly out and watch both fixtures as Ismael's side prepare for the 2025/26 season.

Feck me, it's even worse than I thought. The bottom of the barrel has now been scraped off!!! IMO, the signing of cheap, unproven and little known players like De Neve, Tavares and Al-Sahafi (if correct) is virtually consigning us to a fight for survival from the 1st game of the season. These sort of signings will do nothing to convince the likes of Brittain, Tavis and Tronstad that we are a club going places and therefore a club to commit their future to.

If he's as good as he himself thinks then he'll get it! You do wonder if he's been given the best of advice. Sadly for Dolan, he might just have overplayed his hand.
