  1. Past hour
  2. I distinctly remember De Bruyne and Salah failing to make much of an impact at Chelsea once upon a time
  3. Yeah it’s getting beyond pathetic at this point now 😂. Ain’t it funny to see their meltdown losing to a rovers side who’s lower than them 🤡🤡🤡
  4. Not sure the victory is worth the level of celebration no matter the opponent. Imagine if they go down!
  5. I think you’ve cracked the dilemma there.
  6. Today
  7. That smell always reminds me of walking into town with my grandma heading towards the old market.
  8. My uncle was a drayman at the “ Thwaites “ brewery.
  9. Lampard better than Scholes and Gerrard is a view you dont hear often! I guess using recent ways of playing I would try and handle the lack of decent wingers/wide forwards and way too many central attacking midfielders by playing wing backs. Still think the squad was not well balanced though, and not destined to win trophies because of that. I am a bit surprised we never tried 343 with Beckham as a wing back (to my recollection ).as I think it would have suited his industry and quality of crossing Robinson Terry. Ferdinand. King Beckham. Scholes A Cole Lampard. Gerrard Rooney
  10. Hahaha I love how they're trying their hardest to make this a bigger derby than it actually is. The Lancashire derby is Rovers and the Dingles. Always has been, always will be.
  11. Ain’t No Mountain High Enough - Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell
  12. I used to love that smell hitting you as you left the Penny Street market (after having a sarsaparilla, of course).
  13. McClaren will be getting twitchy.
  14. The smell hanging over the town centre from the Thwaites brewery 🤢 Duttons were taken over by Whitbread and Lion Ales the first to close IIRC
  15. Whitbreads were Duttons but you're right there used to be 3 major breweries in town. Whitbreads Brewery was on High St where Morrisons is now before they moved to Salmesbury.
  16. Whereas in London 1 house in three was a brothel!
  17. We are digressing here but Blackburn historically has always been a ‘brewing town’. Whitbread, Thwaites, Duttons and Lions all had brewery’s in the town employing thousands of people. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/16268836.pictures-looking-back-east-lancashire-breweries/
  18. I once read that around the turn of the 19th century ( 1895 -1900 ish ) there was 1 pub or beer house for every 14 people in Blackburn.
  19. Lmao I've seen that aswell celebrating too much 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 The saltiness for a derby that we arent all too fussed about is unreal. Just another team to us. I was called out on YouTube telling me how all our players ran to us at the end was sad lmao I mean put some meat on the bones for an argument atleast lmao Preston fans, they're more plastic than we'll ever be with their little flags that we're laid out for them in their end. Got whooped at their own cup final and can't take the heat 😂😂😂 #moresaltonmyspudplease
  20. I thought so, good job Preston didn’t think the same. “ Who’s marking the centre forward ? Nobody, let’s just let him run out there “. It was a good move - you can either head for goal or head the ball back into the danger area.
  21. All over X now they are desperately trying to flip the narrative that it means more to us, than it does to them. They've been desperately trying to force this rivalry for YEARS, spent all week bigging up their chances and have now retreated into their shells because they've lost. Many are now throwing the ridiculous line out that we celebrated too much. Absolutely insufferable fanbase. They wanted the rivalry but only when it suits them, it seems.
  22. Anybody read Frank’s quotes after the game ? That was what I was expecting to hear from JDT after the dingles fiasco.
  23. Litherland is definitely better on the ball, or he was when I last saw him play.
  24. Mori's post match interview confirms this was the case.
  25. In an ideal world I’d prefer a right footer playing on the right and vice versa. Especially at our level were two footedness seems to be a thing of the past.
  26. There was a ton of pubs along Bolton Road leading into the town centre too. I'm sure I read somewhere they called it 'The Length'- Lots of pubs and house were knocked down around there and there was several massive mills so I could imagine that area being a hot-bed for pubs. Even now on the left you can see at least two pubs. Such beautiful buildings, so many memories- if only the walls could talk eh?! If the owners of the Moorings don't already open on matchdays for a cheap beer a curry, they're missing a bloody trick.
  27. I remember seeing something in Blackburn Museum about Blackburn being the 'Beeriest town in England" at one point, with the most pubs per capita of any major town or city. In more recent years I think it was reported in the Guardian that we have the most takeaways per capita and that people in Blackburn had better access to takeaways than GPs per capita. Interesting reasons to be on the map, or not(?). I'd rather we were back on the map for footballing reasons but appreciate that could be many years away.
