  1. Past hour
  2. Based on the age of player Eustace seems to like, I'm quite glad we didn't back him. I liked what Eustace instilled on the team (until the collapse in the last ten games) but I was always worried that he has a penchant for older players. There is no resale value in that, and with the club losing around Β£15m a season just by standing still, throwing money at older players would have caused huge problems in quick time.
  3. This money for JDT wouldve got us promoted
  4. Why couldn't they have backed Eustace or jdt like this when we were on the brink of play offs
  5. To be fair, Roversxtra is usually just an account to echo (and credit) other sources. Has got a couple of correct stories here it seems. Nathan Jones still knows nothing though. Not his story.
  6. For squad registration rules, sure, but he wouldn't have had any work permit issues.
  7. Is cadamatari a no goer? Or is this a potential transfer?
  8. Been watching this Middlesbrough and Sheffield United match for about ten minutes and can see exactly why Sheff U are where they are. They just don’t defend. Clearly isn’t in vogue with all these new coaches, but honestly, they’re wide open.
  9. If the singles are to stay up, they need 3 points at Old Triffid today.
  10. Not to mention Callum Best’s outstanding football career
  11. My friend* was going to take his grandson to the Strikers Lounge pre match today as he does every home game. It is closed and no explanation was given nor available. Does anyone know why please? *They are ST holders living in central Preston. Will the club please note not all supporters are from within the confines of BwD πŸ€”
  12. They should have sold him this summer.
  13. It depends on what academy you come through to be designated a home grown player. Eric Dier, born in Cheltenham and an England international. Came through the Sporting Lisbon academy so was never classed as β€˜home grown’ when playing in England πŸ™ƒ
  14. I feel like there is, but unsure if playing Michalski in cups may rule us out?
  15. That's a first, you usually think you everything about a potential signing
  16. Fair play to Ismael, we've brought in some interesting names this summer. Gudjohnson might be a real gem. I've got a feeling he's the key in the jigsaw we're missing
  17. Started his career at real madrid so must be some talent there. Born in England as well so he might qualify as a home grown player
  18. He didn't even name the player in question, I think you're probably thinking we were talking about someone else. I was just going off what he was saying about an unnamed player we are not linked with.
  19. One of the things you can say about the recruitment this summer is that they are trying to avoid leaving a position hanging out to dry due to outgoings - When a player is sold we generally have a player lined up for the position, Britain wasn't sold until Alebiosu was sorted, Travis for Baradji, it now looks like Leonard was allowed to go once the deal for Gudjohnsen was sorted out. Pears is the backup to Toth, if Pears is sold I expect that a new keeper will be signed. It might well be that they are actively not selling Pears until they can find a keeper they like where they can turn an overall profit/wage reduction on both transfers. I am worried about the overall quality/whether all of these new players will prove good enough, but as I have said before for the first time in yonks there does seem to be some semblance of joined up thinking behind the transfer policy this year.
  20. If Pears is leaving before Monday, I'd like to think we're looking at the goalkeeper position, and that we should get Michalski out on loan to League One or League Two. Toth has been good, but we shouldn't get comfortable with that, and I don't think Michalski is quite ready to step in. I'm certain we must be looking at that situation.
  21. He’s petulant, but he’s one of their best players, if not the best. Absolute classic United to nullify him in a new system and cut down on his goals and assists.
  22. Isn't goalkeeper one position though where an emergency loan or unattached player (of which there are several at Premier League level available at the moment) can be added after the window closes? Vague recollection of this being in the rules. However, most things are a bit vague with me these days, so I've probably imagined it..
  23. Pears is more than adequate as back up.
  24. Leonard and Gueye out for Gudjohnson and Cadamarteri would be an upgrade I think, would be happy if we get that done. Then just need a backup for Toth. Ultimately season depends on all the new guys coming good which is not guaranteed.
  25. Wonder who’s idea that was ? πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”
  26. Having Ferandes as captain is also a mistake. He's a dummy spitting diva, always throwing his hands up and complaining. On the pitch he seems the sort who'd bitch at team mates if he didn't get the ball. Compare him to the likes of Keane and Bruce when they were the top club.
