  1. Past hour
  2. We all know the why= money. But that still doesn't make it right.
  3. But they are there and have been there for the last 15 years.
  4. Rovers are not unique in this regard If a club wants to remain in the championship (let alone aim to compete for promotion), then wages have to be higher than turnover The below is based on the most recent accounts of all Championship clubs: https://www.matchdayfinance.com/post/championship-financial-results-season-2023-24 Championship clubs are generally unprofitable, primarily because their staff costs significantly exceed the revenue they generate. Staff costs before player sales totaled £1.12 billion, which amounted to 122% of total turnover—£161 million more than revenue. In such a scenario, financial losses are unavoidable. However, in order to progress, other clubs such as Middlesbrough, Bristol City etc, reinvest upwards of 70% of transfer fees received into transfer fees for new signings to improve their squad
  5. What do you mean 'but'...I didn't mention them because the club are clearly trying to offload them. Man it's like having a debate with the Riddler 😂.
  6. Lots more TV games as the clubs (but in the end the players and agents ) wanted more cash. Yep, all agreed. But seven games at half 12 on a Saturday, why? (No deflections please, specifically answer the question about seven games at half 12).
  7. Guess what our wages will be higher than turnover in League One too… presumably we shouldn’t expect to compete there either.
  8. Today
  9. I can't even express how much I hate this, and how unnecessary it is. Total load of old bollocks.
  10. I did answer the question, and simply enough for the vast majority of people to understand. And I've explained why at length. Even though the question was pointless in the first place. I'm sorry you didn't grasp it, but we're clearly done here.
  11. Yesterday
  12. Thats not justification.
  13. Wages are higher than turnover across the Championship. Why are we now justifying our total inability to get any senior players to sign new deals? If anyone sees what is going on at this club and thinks that its got a genuine ambition to get into the Premier League. Then they havent been paying attention.
  14. You asked similar all season like a broken record week after week. You know why. Clubs and EFL wanted more revenue for TV rights for that to happen, more games had to be available for coverage. Fairly simple reason. More coverage for more revenue
  15. We offer we can afford. Wages are higher than turnover. You have budget and you sign players you can, sell players you don't want or players who want to leave I dont paranoid by anything in life. Its people like yourself who enjoy looking for things that aren't there. Just dismissed everything again! We see if he a good manager or not based on this season result. It's 2 games. One game where we should at least a point if not the win tbh
  16. Along with the £40m from Wharton, Szmodics, Raya…
  17. Morbid Angel - Blood On My Hands
  18. But we are still paying. You have a wage budget and you can't just keep signing players after players like you would. Michalski based on a one game? Jesus wept. He made a mistake, personally felt for him but he played well after that. Pears didn't warm up on Saturday even as 3rd choice. Someone said he is off to United, whether that true gods know. Not over fuss over it tbh
  19. I still am none the wiser as to finding a valid justification and it wasnt a question to ask what best suits you personally.
  20. Yeah that could be due to squad size and them not willing to add more players to the wage bill without moving others out. Where has the 3.5 million gone that we got for Brittain?
  21. Ha! The old "Give him time FFS!" Some people can spot a conman and a bad move before others.
  22. Usual culprits, usual crap. Must wake up thinking "who can I insult today?" That question of "who would buy us?" has been answered a thousand times but they still ask it---every day! If they are a representative group of Rovers fans, we are doomed but thankfully they are not.
  23. The first 75 minute he was controlling midfield. He had one brilliant passage of play where he went passed two players. Played a one two then put in a brilliant ball which mateta should have scored
  24. I watched the Palace/ Chelsea game for the last 15 minutes or so. I deliberately watched Adam. He trotted around the pitch for 15 minutes. He touched the ball once into touch. Later he got the ball and played a good cross field pass. And that was it.......all in 15 minutes of play. If I were a scout that wouldn't have impressed me.
  25. You asked the similar questions last season. Going on and on. You know why the 7 games now Midweek games are inconvenience for me, given I work nights but I have accepted that as it's my choice.
  26. He played the second half. I bet he enjoyed it. Although it's a bit warm there this time of year, even in the evenings.
