Rovers's January transfer needs

We need a new centre back signing in this window and O'Riordan can come back either in January or next summer to replace Carter in the squad. is that clear enough? -

He was literally here last season and was appalling. He showed a poor attitude and lack of work rate and offering nothing in terms of attacking ability. He had half a good season 3 or 4 seasons ago which escalated his reputation but since its been a mixture of not playing at all or being massively underwhelming when he has. I cant get my head around a Rovers fan suggesting his return. Id understand supporters of other clubs without having seen him at their club thinking hes worth the risk a bit, but we need to steer well clear. Albeit replacing Kargbo isnt hard. -

I suggested that we will not get what we need in January as is proven by repeated failure You countered that point by highlighting 2 signings (a bang average left back and some cover at centre back) in a window that was the final straw in seeing a very talented manager leave, and also a young lad we had on loan who again barely played. As if that disproves my suggestion than January transfer windows at this football club are anything other than awful. On your first point, no it was not clear to me in the way that you put it as to whether you think we just need O'Riordan back or O'Riordan AND a Hyam replacement. Thats why I asked. -

A run of games and his playing history suggests there's something there with a punt.. Cantwell hasn't played in months.. -

What do you think might have changed in the last 6 months of not being involved with a football club that will have turned Dennis into anything even slightly resembling a Championship footballer? Cantwell shouldnt be let go, hes still absolutely key and if hes fit he should be playing -

what your opinion and post doesn't take into account is the overhaul of the squad and bring in mainly players overseas so you would normally have a drop off in results in that first season After overhauling the squad like we did, and to be only 6 points behind last season points total shows that we aren't doing as bad as plenty would have thought including yourself -

Tosh. I assume you take personal responsibility for every failure from other departments at your place of work then? For me the jury is still out on VI, we know he can get the team into a purple patch but it’s not worth much if they follow it up with five straight defeats. I appreciate that he’s not precious about formations or tactics though, he saw that his chosen formation wasn’t effective and switched to one that fit our squad better. A lot of our former managers could learn from that. -

Would love to see Rothwell back on loan or a similar type of player as well as a replacement for Tavares, Foreshaw- let them both go. What about Dennis on a free until the end of the season to cover for Kargbos absence? Centre half- a big lad from the lower leagues- Dan Burn was playing down there wasn't he at some point? Let one of Pickering/Ribiero go along with Tavares, Foreshaw and perhaps even Cantwell .. Pointless paying the wages if he isn't playing.. Let Norwich spend silly money in Jan.. -

I think he would be. Carter is too injury prone now. sad for a player who could have been PL player when he was coming through -

Open and honest. Aye, ok. Not said a single critical thing towards the regime since he joined… fair enough, he’s here to earn a wage and they pay it, but open and honest, he ain’t. -
Yeah, I noted that right footed pass out to the left flank. Perfectly weighted.

I’m not sure he’d be a starter here if Carter and Wharton were fit and available. Is he a better bet than McClouglin ? Maybe, he’s certainly quicker. -

He might be a starter here now but only because we let our best 2 centre backs go and didnt replace them. But either way, it doesnt refute my claim that we dont get what we need in January every year. -

I dont think most clubs would go from 7th to 10th/12th and consider that a good season but it shows the direction of travel here. 10th-12th is good but being 18th isnt doing that bad. -

If we had the 3 points from the Ipswich game we’d only be 3 points off. However it’s soul destroying to maybe battle our way to safety knowing any of the players who have come good will be sold off asap to keep the lights on. It’s like playing Russian Roulette, sooner or later you’re dead. -

I think our performances have been better than our league position but we only 6 points off last season points at this stage, so considering the overhaul of the squad this summer we aren't doing that bad. If we could finish around 10th to 12th this season then I think we had a good season -

Communication shouldn't be a factor but based on results and performances. I like Ismael's open and honest approach to the media but its not a factor in judging him -
Boycott writing in the Sunday papers today said the way England play is "brainless" and he "can't take the team seriously anymore" “They never learn, because they never listen to anyone outside their own bubble, because they truly believe their own publicity." “A 40-run lead on a fast, bouncy, low-scoring pitch was huge and, with Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope together at one stage, England were in charge at effectively 100 for one. But as exciting as this England team can be, they are always only a blink of an eye away from self-destruction. “Chasing balls away from your body on fast, bouncy pitches is fraught with danger. It’s like Russian roulette. Save those shots for low, slow surfaces where the odds are in a batsman’s favour. “When the Aussies get stuck for a wicket all they have to do is go fishing. Dangle the bait and wait for a bite. Our lot can’t resist." Who would argue with that?
