  1. Past hour
  2. We were really blessed to follow Rovers at that time.
  3. With our ever growing injury list, caused by our flimsy squad, being overplayed, we desperately need to strengthen our squad in January, or get sucked into the relegation battle.
  4. I know we have more pressing issues than selling tickets for Sheffield Wednesday away, but it would be good if someone from Fans Forum could pick this up, or another supporters representative and ask why this ludicrous decision was made.
  5. The ref was being overly friendly with Hackney first half when he was having a moan about a blatent foul on Tronstad. He had the best view in the house of the red card incident so all I can think is subconsciously he decided to not apply the rules and let him off ''as hes not that sort of player''. Regardless, we were superb yesterday given our injuries and the number of young players getting valuable minutes. We seemed to have much better stamina/fitness levels and only one team looked like winning it when we entered the final 10/15 minutes. The defence was strong and every player gave 100%. A shame we didn't have a goalscorer to turn it into 3 points.
  6. Does Gudjohnsen just play a "focus point role?" His main job is to score goals. Dykes might have played a lot in the league but he has never really learnt how to score very often in it. And thanks for your further patronising comments regarding our well structured and harmonious transfer committee.
  7. The fact this was our first win in Australia since 2014 is little reward in a test that was frankly a farce. But it does point towards how bad things we were before the current regime took over. I've got several mates who have flown out for day 3, I don't know whether to laugh or cry, all that money and the tests over......Cricket Australia have some answers to come up with, 94,000 sell out on day 3 and that money will be returned, some heads may roll for that one.
  8. Impossible to try and guess who Rovers may or may not go for next month. We don't tend to hear who's coming in until the last minute anyway. However, its clear Gueye is being positioned for a move away, and with Gudjohnsen injured it is absolutely crucial that they bring in a couple of forwards...unless Henriksson suddenly transforms into the next Gyokeres, which seems pretty unlikely! CB cover also a must, and if they intend to move Pickering on then a LWB cover for Hedges as well. De Neve simply cannot be put back into the team in that position, and I think Ismael probably knows that now. With Montgomery, Morishita and Tavares all injured then another CM feels needed too. An injury to Tronstad would be devastating, and its really concerning that we'll be going into next season without him. If Litherland continues to do well then I see less of a need for RWB cover while Alebiosu is away. I'd rather they focussed on more attacking positions. If he (or Alebiosu at AFCON) got injured however, then that changes the landscape. Awkward month ahead, as usual.
  9. The clearest red card you’ll see all season. The ref’s eyes must be painted on.
  10. True, it's a gamble, but if only two or three come off then for the recruitment team it's job done as that's the instructions they're working under
  11. Today
  12. The recruitment will be as cheap as possible, thats the only gaurentee.
  13. Injury cover seems the most likely. Rovers don't do long term plans these days.
  14. The fact that Wednesday haven't won at home yet is scaring me. They came close yesterday against a good Hull side. An injury ravaged Rovers will be seen as a good opportunity for them. I'll go for a 1-1 draw. Baradji. Predicted team: Pears Miller McLoughlin Pratt Litherland Tronstad Baradji Hedges Cantwell Henriksson Ohashi
  15. From the highlights, it looked like even the Boro players were shocked it wasn't a red (fist pumping the yellow).
  16. Surely, this is a must win game right? History says we come up short... 1-1😳
  17. We are in a strong position now in the keeping dept with these two. Take away the crazy recurring errors and there was never anything wrong with Pears in terms of being a capable enough Championship level keeper. Not as good as Toth nor Kaminsky but steady enough in his own way and as good as plenty others in this league. This position won't last something will give, the bean counters will be beside themselves paying 2 first team standard keepers when there could be a fee and wage cut possible getting rid of one.
  18. Thanks, knew I'd forget somebody!
  19. Great summary! Agreed with above, we usually do but playing with league one players and youth players we can’t grumble, clean sheet is good and it’s another point on the table, muddling through the season
  20. Along with Keith Newton. They were before their time really, both were made for today’s football.
  21. I would include Beck & Leonard in the "who was replaced column" Alebiosu - Brittain Miller - Hyam McLoughlin - Batth Baradji - Travis Tavares - Buckley Gudjohnsen - Leonard Henriksson - Weimann TGH - JRC Morishita - Dolan De Neve - Beck
  22. What a thoroughly entertaining game of football for a Boxing Day. Talking to a Middlesbrough fan before the game and he said he was dreading it as we always seem to get a result up there. I thought it was a really good team performance with everyone making a contribution. Pears, in the first half in particular, made some decent saves. Perhaps the competition that Toth brings is making his raise his game. Having two 'keepers fighting for the number one spot can only be a good thing. The defence proved excellent throughout. These sort of games bring out the best in Miller and McLoughlin whilst young Pratt is really growing into the role of being a first team player. Litherland gave another promising performance before he began to tire late in the game and Hedges again proved that wing-back is a position he does really well. The man of the match for me was Tronstad who was outstanding in midfield. I have to say that Baradji gave a superb performance when he came on and these two could be a really impressive midfield partnership. Baradji has all the attributes to become an outstanding midfield players - pace, power, quick feet and a wonderful eye for a pass. Gestede and his team deserve a lot of praise for finding this guy. Morishita put in his usual energetic display until injured - yet another injury that I suspect will keep a player out for some time. I can't remember a season when we've had so many long term injuries to senior players. Cantwell is starting to perform in a way which we haven't seen consistently since he arrived. He seems far more motivated and is leading by example. Up front Yuki was non-stop again. The energy and fitness levels of this guy are amazing. He never gives defenders a any rest. Hendriksson, although not a natural striker, worked hard to keep the pressure on the home defence but with Gudjohnsen out long term, we badly need another partner for Yuki. All in all it was another good day out at the Riverside Stadium - my least favourite away ground and yet one where we always seem to come away with something!
  23. Just done a comparison of incomings and outgoings to see how people think we have ended up stronger or not after the summer window. Considering the money spent overall I think it's pretty favourable though I'm sure others will disagree One thing it has certainly done is bring the average age down considerably
  24. Yes, but that same little or no money may also get you a De Neve
