  1. Past hour
  2. I really can't see us taking an offer that low. The constraints you mention are the same as they were for Britain, and i am sure we will drive for a deal north of that. For all their faults one thing the owners don't do is sell at cut price. Theyd rather Travis went for free than sell for below his market value imo.
  3. Doesn't make much sense forcing a relegation unless you want a complete reset of the whole operation and your owners can only or are only prepared to meet half the costs they previously have.........
  4. Grealish joining Everton on loan for the season. Him and Dewsbury-Hall are two very good signings for them.
  5. Iโ€™ll be absolutely amazed if he sees the season out.
  6. Any scout watching him on Saturday would have been in their car and halfway home before the final whistle went.
  7. As per AI so far from gospel Blackburn Rovers' latest financial accounts reveal a revenue of ยฃ21.4 million for the 2023/24 season League One clubs averaged ยฃ9.1 million, according to Deloitte. This difference is primarily due to higher broadcasting revenue and increased commercial revenue in the Championship. The League 1 figure is an average, so imagine Rovers would be slightly higher than the average So the cost of relegation is somewhere less than ยฃ12.3M/year Although I would hazard a guess that relegation wage reduction clauses would cover the vast majority of that
  8. Financially relegation might suit them. Sell off all the big earners and bring in more cheap spear carriers like DeNeve. Weโ€™re down to the die-hards now so the gates wonโ€™t drop off to the same extent.
  9. At the end of the day right now he's only worth what a team will pay and i really don't see anyone stumping up 2 million or more and a good contract when they can get him for free in summer and maybe offer him two years on big money. As for us it would be really stupid to entertain anything less than around 2 million with add ons but i assume they are getting desperate now having brought a few in. So i'll stick to my guns and say if he does go it'll be undisclosed to save the blushes and probably be about 1.5 million.
  10. How many times in modern football do you see a speculative shot hit one of the throng in the goalmouth and completely wrong foot the keeper and end up in the back of the net ? If you donโ€™t try it will never happen.
  11. I wonder what would be the cost of relegation... The Suhail way-Spoil the ship for a hap-orth of tar...
  12. Put into context most regular fans have signed up for or paid for season tickets and there is an expensive first home league match on Saturday. They should throw this in for free the price they are disgracefully asking for an adult BBE ticket on Saturday against a club that was in league 1 last season.
  13. What chances were they matey ? Ohashi had a good attempt at goal as he was falling, later on he should have had a pen. After that - a lot of huff and puff but we wonโ€™t blow anybodyโ€™s house down with what we have at the present.
  14. Indeed. When every decision is being made with ยฃยฃยฃ in mind - cutting costs and wages and bringing in cash from sales - it is very easy to see why they've ditched the idea of signing quality up front.
  15. So we've not added any strikers, no RW and no 8 from what I can see, as neither Tavares or Henrikksen are 8's. Outside of the outgoing that needed replacing immediately i.e. McLoughlin and Miller we've added players in non priority positions in another LB/LWB and another CDM and another CAM. Good strategy that completely going against your initial strategy you've worked on over a number of months in relation to issues in the previous season.
  16. Usually the most expensive signing They won't pay for one and would rather try and wing it with Ohashi and Gueye.
  17. Wish it was busier for these earlier games ppl should take advantage of the cheap offering
  18. I think Tijon's time has come, ready or not. Not much else we can do up-front. He'll either sink or swim.
  19. Oops..My bad...I have now caught up with the appropriate thread ( Ee-aaww)
  20. It definitely was one of the 5 priorities that Gestede mentioned in April. When Ismael had been here a couple of months And he specifically said striker, not forwards Exact quotes below, with (a rather charitable) opinion of which new signing fills what role in red "We need a left-sided centre-back, that's been obvious," Gestede told The Lancashire Telegraph. "Scott Wharton has been missing all season, we don't want to put pressure on him when he's back and expect him to play every week. It will not work. We need someone to cover this position. (McLoughlin) "On the right, we need cover for Callum Brittain. We have Leo Duru but we need some business in this area. (Miller & Alebiosu) "Right-wing, we have Amario, who is going back. Tyrhys is the only other player in this position. (still waiting, although I will concede that De Neve is a player who plays wide, if not specifically on the right) "We want a number eight, a box-to-box type of midfielder and we don't have that at the minute. That's something we need to cover. (Tavares, Henriksson?) "We want some power up front to challenge the two strikers we have, we will do some business." (seemingly forgotten about)
  21. Probably a combination of factors. New manager who may be more concerned by other positions. Growing faith in Tyjon being able to contribute as he is a bit older now. But, since I'm fairly sure a striker was mentioned earlier in the window, I think the biggest one is probably the exodus meaning other positions have changed in priority and that's sucked the budget up.
  22. We did see it as a priority at the start of the summer. Gestede said publically, so something has changed.
  23. I think we're comfortably at the point where I put credence in Wilsden confirming what Jackson says, more than Jackson confirming what Wilsden says. He's also missing the third option of going to the appeals board. One thing that doesn't seem to have been discussed here...I'd expect even if Miyoshi's game in the second tier knocks his points down, it shouldn't be too hard to argue to an appeals board that he would have qualified a week ago and isn't any worse a player now. Japan international, experience in the Bundesliga, Championship, Belgian top flight. Prime years. In his recent season at Brum he played 43 Championship games which would have auto qualified him if it had been applied for but obviously he had a release clause so that didn't happen. Seems a no brainer for a panel to me.
  24. We can write off the Miyoshi deal now, it won't be happening. The last ESC spot will go to Baradji once Trav is sold. Mafoumbi will be released at that point to make room. Bucko will go out on loan and we'll get a loan midfield to replace him, who will then be back up to Tavares and Tronstad whilst Baradji undergoes his operation. That's my strong gut feeling. We are crying out for attacking talent and will flirt with relegation if we don't add a striker and RW. I still don't understand how a striker was a huge priority in Jan and we ended up getting an expensive one on loan. Yet, come the summer we no longer see it as a priority area. Although a great character, Gueye is not good enough, and Ohashi is still relatively inexperienced in this league. Leonard is an injury write off.
