  1. Past hour
  2. Seems like marketing 101 to me (not often you can say that about this lot). A friendly on the day a new kit goes on sale, wear it. Who cares if we are at home, it’s. a. friendly.
  3. Do we open the club shop after match days? Wouldnt shock me if we showcased our new kit v Everton then the shop was closed after.
  4. More money this. More money that. Maybe, like JDT and Eustace, they just don't like the people running the club and don't want to be here. See Batth, Brittain, Weiman and I suspect the remaining contract expiree's A functioning club not run by idiots that are doing their best to get into the Premier League will be a big carrot for any championship regular at Ewood.
  5. All underage football it’s not the same thought well of in Ireland but one for the future we need something for now
  6. Looks on paper a really promising signing (if true)based on his recent clubs.
  7. Yes, easy to forget just how young COR still is (turning 22 in Oct), especially for a CB, and how much pro football he's already played for his age. Out of unnecessary curiosity, here's the trajectory of recent(ish) Rovers Academy CB grads: COR had a bit of a stunted (and to some extent unfortunate) year, but another year in L1 means he's only sort of behind the trajectories of Lenihan (who was more of a squad player, and still a MF/DF hybrid that year?) and Jack O'Connell (he was only a squad player with Brentford that year before becoming a L1 starter with Sheffield the next year). Otherwise, COR's on track with Carter and ahead of Wharton, Magloire, Anthony O'Connor, and Ryan Edwards (to pick out some less successful examples!) Definitely a crucial year for COR, but I wouldn't write him off just yet. Perhaps he's been 'found out' in training as hopeless at this level, but securing another L1 loan so quickly is still a positive sign. If reports are correct, we picked him off due to a low release clause (Β£500k?), which seems like a no brainer bet for a CB managing in the lower leagues at 18-19 years old (yes, can debate if that money was better spent on desperate short-term needs at the time...). It's possible the current sports hierarchy isn't as enamoured with him and he's probably on a high wage relative to someone coming straight out of the Academy (so, the bean counters may be keen to get his long-term contract off the books given he's signed until 2028), but presumably Doncaster are covering an ok chunk of his wages this year.
  8. So two teams in their away kit then? Brilliant! I've no idea why the FF didn't object to this in the strongest possible terms. To me it seems obvious our "prestige" home friendly should be used to showcase OUR new home kit. Sod Everton. Non controversial? Really?
  9. It’s rovers fits the current model big talk about him in Ireland but in no way shape or form should we have him as one of our first team signings - tyjon is the equivalent
  10. Neither would Dolan, which tells its own story.....
  11. It wasn't the player I was disparaging as I know nothing about him. It was the fact we appeared to be wasting ours and everyone else's time with our usual bout of tyre kicking.
  12. The two Hats wont do either, its deliberate.
  13. I think your mind is playing tricks on you. 2-2.5 years ago, he had ben a regular in rovers first team for a couple of years & had played over 3000 minutes for us in the Championship alone (probably closer to 4000)
  14. Carter might not be present and Batth gone, yet they aren't submitting good enough offers on centre backs. Messing around for months. We need two. The player catch up and need to spend more is our own making due to total negligence. Sort it out and get fit players with good pedigree into training now!! Offer acceptable contracts and rebuild some spirit with long term objectives/ incentives and start acting like a serious football club..... or sell up and give it to someone who will.
  15. Lol.....A new term, especially for Venky Rovers.. " The club, who tried wolf."
  16. ...But! BUT! we tried. Blackburn Rovers, the low-balling specialists.
  17. I genuinely think they make a list every window of players they know they can't afford then just make phone calls to all the various agents who then in turn tip off the media or twitter accounts. Linked with every player under the sun in certain price ranges but sign non. Then it's but we tried but X offered a bigger fee, Y offered bigger wages and Z's club wanted way too much. All lapped up by cries of 'but we only get 12k' if all the fans came back we'd.....
  18. I would guess that our offer 2-2 1/2 years ago wasn't lower than he was worth at the time. He was only just breaking into the first team. It's a big hypothetical on the 15,000. As is the guess that we only offered 6,000 and that he was already making 2,000. But, sure, we can come up with numbers that somewhat justify the decision to actively earn less for over 2 years. But you would have to go hard to convince me that he wouldn't be better off on a higher sum here, with one year left on a deal, established in a decent Championship club, and positioning himself for either a move this summer (seemingly there wouldn't be demand) or moving on a free in 12 months after he had really built a reputation. This isn't even factoring in the possibility that he could have had a serious injury at any point in the last 2 seasons and significantly reduced his future earning potential. Players should almost always take the contract 2/3 years before their current deal runs out as they still maintain all of the power to demand a new one or manufacture a move. It's why our inability to get players to sign new deals 2/3 years out is such a strong indicator of how poorly run the club is.
  19. Rovers seem experts in having offers rejected. Transfers and first team contracts.
  20. Yep,finally looking like its caught up with us..only so many times you can dodge a Bullet. In our 150th year it could be don 'yer Tin Hats time. Fecking disgrace this lot.
  21. To be fair, his contract is up in May 2026 and he's playing in the SPL (not at Rangers or Celtic), so how much is he realistically worth? They signed him for 350k Euros in 2022. I don't know much about the guy, but looking at it on paper I'd probably say this would make sense, certainly to the Rovers hierarchy. Contract running out, good age, potential to improve, and in 2-3 years he's probably reaching his best years. Hibs just had a really good season, finishing 3rd and reaching Europe. Of course, there will be very few of us that know anything about him, but that probably accounts for 90% of transfers that get done. This one, I can see the logic.
  22. With CB back in training Boro must be way off in valuation. Or simply moved on
  23. Today
  24. I thought when I posted above that it was non-controversial as I said but clearly that's a rare thing on here. I thought it made sense too. The post above about Everton's shirt seems to contradict what we were told though.
