  1. Past hour
  2. Very strange, you’ll be blaming the ref next.
  3. I think I just worked out "the plan" In the EFL, a club can take out an emergency goalkeeper loan for up to a week, with weekly extensions, if all their senior professional goalkeepers are unavailable due to injury, suspension, or international duty. A professional goalkeeper, by EFL definition, is a non-contract player who has started a senior match five or more times. The club must apply to the league, which considers the cases individually. Goddard may throw a spanner in the works due to his games played last season during his loan in Ireland, but as cases are considered individually, I think they will be ok getting this past a panel Essentially cut costs (big surprise) and get an emergency loan in if Toth ends up injured/suspended, voila, no back up keeper wages to pay for the season
  4. Is it not the case that National League teams can still sign loans outside the window? Or am I misremembering? That's what I had in mind when I said younger guys, because we wouldn't loan our better/older youth to that level.
  5. If the option is to start with 11 players including Tavares or 10 players without Tavares I'm picking the latter.
  6. Suhail said. “We didn’t know he would be that good”. I say “Go and get yourself a job elsewhere before you do any more damage”. This must be, the biggest cock up, in the 150 years of the existence of the club.
  7. I'd say that any buy to loan deal would suggest the opposite.
  8. If we go into this season with Goddard and Michalski as back up GKs then we are 100% screwed if Toth picks up an injury.
  9. At the minute if we're freezing out Pears, and not including the likes of Barrett, Pratt & Leonard I make it that we have 22 players that we would need to register this season. To me that says we should be signing 2 today and keeping a spot open for January. I predict we're done now though, despite desperately needing a midfielder, and another who can play across the front line. We're an injury away from having to play Taveres and Montgomery in our central midfield which is beyond scary.
  10. Had Venkys backed JDT, I feel we just might have 😭
  11. Predicting a first draw of the season: 1-1 Would like Gueye to start to tire out the defence a little bit then bring on ohashi or Gudjohnsen. With morishita deliveries would be great to have a big lad up front who can get his head on them…. Big Mak has been capable
  12. He probably wouldn't have got the job if he didnt sign up to it And if that is the case, at least they have been up front to a manager/head coach for once... Well at least until they decide to change up "project new broom" for "project clean sweep", or "project hands washed"
  13. By that, I mean that any remaining funds should go towards getting players for now as we are still short.
  14. We've signed quite a lot of new players, but how many do we think have actually improved the team?
  15. Well, if VI is complicit in project 'new broom' he will only have himself to blame if the experiment backfires and he and the team bear the brunt of criticism during and after games from our blinkered and easily hoodwinked fanbase. Should a miracle occur and Rovers actually do well this season (we wish!) imagine the impact on all the rest of the teams at this level - bloated squads and overpaid prima-donnas will be jetisoned in favour of lean and hungry teamsheets and cheap makeweights around dressing rooms, with everyone clamouring for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th tier players from overseas... Disruptive innovation, I believe it is called (when it works). Stupidity and asset stripping, I believe it is termed when it all goes tits up... I know where my instinct tells me we are headed (although I'd be delighted to be shown to be an old codger and a buffoon) And yes, the above isn't 'tits up' it is down.
  16. I’ll be fair to Chaddy. I presume he thinks these owners should be doing far more (and I don’t just mean sponsorship deals) to provide a competitive budget that will see us at the top end of the league. But they don’t and this is the budget the likes of Gestede have to work with, not that he’s actually happy with this budget.
  17. Why would the club buy him and loan him back, If they're not in a position to do so?
  18. Today
  19. An extended stay in Turkey so he's closer to the hair transplant clinic perhaps!!
  20. I will add Loan out for Jake Batty, and Pears to somewhere (although I suppose Pears could end up somewhere overseas as there are still plenty of other countries windows open for at least next week or so, maybe he fancies an extended stay in Turkey after his summer holiday, or Gestede utilising his new contracts in Saudi Arabia to get hikm a move there?
  21. How long before we get an under/over market on "here we go" social posts?
  22. Any other teams transfers will be irrelevant now Liverpool have had a bid accepted for Isak and Sky are wanking themselves into a frenzy about it 🤣 Huge fee that for someone so injury prone but if he stays fit they're gonna be unstoppable, especially if they get Guehi too. Out of interest, can anyone remember the last deadline day where we had literally no incomings? Surely there will be something in the pipeline.... Someone will get Fofana on loan today and I'll look on enviously.
  23. VI quoted over the weekend as having no interest in Browne and not looking to bring a keeper in, same old stuff about needing pathway for the younger guys. Also said whilst it can change and opportunities can come up quickly, no loans were being looked at.
  24. Prediction. Leonard out No incomings.
  25. Pasha being even more hated at 7.30pm is an evens bet... No SWAG or Chesterton fall guys this window.
