  1. Past hour
  2. As long as he’s a good defender, which he’s supposed to be, very good 1 vs 1, then signing a good right winger will make us better overall.
  3. Another in an extremely long list of decent players and managers who believed that their future was better suited away from the club and it’s shambolic ownership / β€˜Execs’.
  4. I can’t comment too much on the new signings, as I don’t know enough about them. Batth and Brittain have been two of our better players, though β€” we can’t keep losing key players without replacing them adequately. There are still clear question marks over Travis as well, and it doesn’t look like we’re close to a positive resolution there either. All we can do now is hope the new signings are as good as those who have left.
  5. I agree, although criticising someone when they’ve got a hundred does seem harsh. That being said, he could easily have been out for under twenty (when the fielder caught him but carried the ball over the ropes). Root is definitely one who has adapted his initial Bazball (I hate that term) technique/mindset - others would do well to follow in his footsteps.
  6. Yeah looks like a hostage situation, "you can go but tell everyone it was fine."
  7. He got injured in that game he played 32 minutes, and hasn't trained since.
  8. Yep… my own reflex response was β€œFck off”
  9. Brittain now getting the Dolan 'not that good anyway' treatment now 🀣 What you need to wake up to is we are a development club that;s why these lads were here this club never bought them to build a promotion team they couldn't care less about that. So..Sammie, BBD before him and now Dolan and Brittain all been developed by us, all entering their peak years, ALL leave in search of ambition and decent wages. They are all good top 10 championship players and the problem has never been with them.
  10. We lost a great player in Newton, but how was it a major problem for the team losing the right-back ?
  11. With a bit of luck they’ll give me a stadium ban. That would be a real touch.
  12. I dont know anything about this miller, but I dont think hes played recently. According to what i can see online, he last played on the 9th july, for 32 minutes... Cant see him being a starter anytime soon. Unless thats wrong. A month without any minutes. Has he even done a preseason or has he been injured? players missing pre season tend to have poor seasons.
  13. A new feature of the regime is to 'soften the blow' of a popular player departing by throwing together a short video at Brockhall about what great times we've had. I think it began when they were seeing off people like Bennett, Graham and Dack, then there was the Adam Wharton 'always be a Rover' one and now it is common practice to do it with every half popular player. In contrast to the old way of things we had where they just bundled the player out the back door with a couple of sentences on the club website. One thing I'll give credit to the Venky stooge for is that he's learned the ways of manipulating the fanbase during his time in control. It was a bit of a circus back in 2015-16 but over time he's learned that a lot of fans will quickly forgive and forget provided the club does a little bit of PR work to go with it. They can almost make the operation appear normal and make out as though our activity is just all part and parcel of life. That and getting Jackson and Nixon doing the dirty work with 'player imminently signing non-existent contract offer' and 'Rovers backed into a corner by player' drivel.
  14. Well, I can. Keith Newton Christmas 1969…. Just saying
  15. I've been banned by Rovers Instagram for about 10 years πŸ˜‚
  16. I remember him leaving, It wasn't a major blow to the team, as the rest of the team did not live up to his standard. One exceptional player at right-back will not have enough influence on the whole team. An influential player in the spine of the team may have that effect ( Adam Wharton being a prime example ).
  17. The best part of downgrading the roster is no one is irreplaceable because no one is good enough to be considered as such. Job well done Venkys!
  18. Can I remind everyone we need to agree with everything the club does or risk a stadium ban or warning. To be clear, you fucking imbeciles have totally fucked up again.
  19. "However, he is a replaceable player. This isn’t a Sammie Szmodics moment" Correct, there isn't a single player in this current Rovers side that isn't replaceable imo. We even managed without Szmodics goals when everyone (including myself) thought we would struggle. Travis and Tronstad are both good players but limited in their abilities and hopefully the new midfield players will bring a different dynamic to the team. For what it's worth, I have only ever seen one irreplaceable player in my time watching Rovers and that of course was Shearer, simply because there was nobody better at the time.
  20. I'd rather he didn't also. Either dish the dirt or leave the platitude.
  21. Not a fan of these "goodbye, it's me, not you," videos to fans. To say the least.
