  2. I have been talking to a couple of friends this morning and trying to establish, the amount that is either now in the bond, or have been seized, by the ED since it came to light that the owners were being investigated. It has been reported that ED initiated the investigation, in connection with illegal remittances made by the company since 2010 to date to it's wholly owned Subsidiary named M/s Venky's London Limited, Cardiff UK. Six properties were seized under the provision of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) 1999. The value of the properties seized was £7.3M and as we are aware, since then they owners have had to apply to the court, for permission to send any further funds to VLL in order to fund the club. Due to the ruling made that a bond had to be paid at 100% of the amount transferred, this stands them at circa £23m inclusive of the value of the properties seized. Given the recent request for £4.85M to be sent, which was made in March and the recent court hearing, whereby the bond required has been reduced to 50% of future remittances, if this is indeed sent, it will stand them at £25m which is more than the initial purchase price of the club. It could well be a masterstroke by ED agreeing to 50% as it will test the resolve of the owners, who must have some serious concerns by now, that the property seized and the Bond monies, could be lost. It remains to be seen if they do send the £4.85m required, as this is to keep the club ticking over and meeting it's liabilities, not to fund transfers or pay for things like ground maintenance, so will the rumours if certain players being sold, materialise, which surely must happen, if the funds are not sent, otherwise it could be game over.
  3. A leader of men, proper defender and great world cup in 2010. One of my all time faves. Disgustingly forced out as we were all lied too and it's kept going downhill since.
  4. Rovers Stalwart
  5. Way I see it, Tuchel has been brought in to win a tournament, if he doesn’t manage that, he’s failed, it’s that simple. I don’t think we’ve got as strong of a side as Spain, or even France, tbh, so he’ll have to find a way to win, as we won’t out play them.
  6. I'm not downplaying anything, if a fee is to be paid then happy days. It is the knocking of signing free agents that I'm talking about, when it is becoming a more and more important part of the process.
  7. The Jam - Strange Town
  8. Signing players later in the transfer window means we don't have to pay them through June and July, I'm sure this is a consideration by Suhail.
  9. Our best players are running out of contract and we can't even be bothered to sort them out, so I have doubts we will be doing much elsewhere.
  10. Finishing 7th and avoiding the playoffs by 10 minutes is destined to become a highlight in the history of Blackburn Rovers Football Club, once that history is brought into context and perspective by the utter shite we are to be abused with in the coming months. Let's face it, the minor miracle that was conjured up at the end of last season was very pleasant at the time, and served to paper over the very obvious cracks that had opened during the turbulent and bemusing campaign we had endured up to that point. But the reality is that the cracks remain, indeed they are showing signs of becoming dangerous rifts in the fabric of the club. There is nothing to suggest we will go into the new campaign even at parity, squad strength wise, to how we finished the last, with clear indications that some of our more saleable assets and those able to leave for free will be allowed to move on. I challenge anyone to set out any clear logic that says losing Brittain, Dolan, Tronstadt, Travis and Hyam makes us any stronger, but those are the names that appear to be on the 'available for transfer' notes doing the rounds. The best we can hope for is that actually, Valerian Ismael is actually a minor miracle worker who is able to get the best from whatever ragbag of journeymen players he is presented with (in mid August), and that we beat some teams in the league simply by having a better looking kit that at least conjures some deep memory of substance and success. The writing is on the wall. The walls are closing in. The walls, ladies and gentlemen, are about to tumble... Feck the Venkys and their cronies. Long live the memories and achievements of the 150 year tradition of Blackburn Rovers. And remember, it is always darkest before the dawn. VENKYS OUT!
  11. Today
  12. Probably because he was playing against pub players.
  13. He certainly looked better for Wales the other night than he was for us.
  14. Two of Sparky's best signings (and there were some great ones) Free transfer and £400,000. Unbelievable business
  15. The Admiral Him and Samba were some pairing, will we ever have a defender of that class and ability again ? Unlikely, shame on you Venkys !
  16. Is it Nixon story time yet? Which youth academy player is definitely out the door and which continental million plus pound player are we definitely in advanced super serious talks with
  17. We have billionaire owners and massive FFP leeway. Why aren't we pay millions of pounds and guarantee quality? Venky's out. Not a dig at you M_B because we have nearly all been battered into submission by 15 years of occupation.
  18. Should we have sacked Souness in 2002 then? After all we had relegation worries for a lot of the season, and that was with top players like Cole and Tugay coming in.
  19. A really class act.
  20. I turned it off at half time. I was nodding off in my chair.
  21. I can't think of one example of a manager having had a terrible season recently who Chaddy thinks should be backed with 4 or 5 quality signings.
  22. Even Nixon hasn't got anything to make up about us today.
