  1. Past hour
  2. They didn't see to many wrist spinners in world cricket I tried to become a wrist spinner 25 years ago but the lack of coaching and people telling to drop it and just become a medium pacer bowler. Shane Warne was a great cricketer and a legend. One of my favourite ever cricketer along with Sachin Tendulkar, James Anderson, Darren Gough and Alec Stewart
  3. The Spaniards I know aren’t particularly nationalistic. The pueblo or village comes first, then the regions. With our neighbours it’s Ugijar, Granada, Andalusia, then Spain last in thar order. Insult their village and you’re in big trouble ! Spain you can criticise.
  4. They really do, the entire starting midfield were brought up through Rovers ladies. This result will be the very last thing Pasha needed, no doubt the spotlight will once more be shone on Blackburn Rovers, it would seem to be the only club in the developed world not prepared to invest a few quid to cash in on the development of the women’s game. Unbelievable, most especially given the head start the club had as one of the pioneers of ladies football. Shame on Pasha, shame on Venkys.
  5. I've no interest in women's football generally but this is England ffs
  6. They have done more than we have then!!! Our only signing with Championship experience is a bang average McLaughin and certainly non of our signings are world beaters! With Brittain about to leave (and Travis to follow) and the paucity of our recruitment, it will be Rovers fighting relegation.
  7. I think the captain had a good tournament. I also thought Lucy Bronze was a bit off the pace, then she tells the interviewer she was playing with a fractured Tibia !
  8. provided we don't eff up from aug to jan. then it's gonna be relegation scrap
  9. I see Dickson Etuhu’s son Zaccai is no longer with us and at Blackpool
  10. It would be nice to see him in some of our classics if he were to ever again qualify for the Majors(The Open, Masters, US Open & PGA Championship).
  11. given that there is 5 weeks of the window and we want another 2/3 signings from Ismael has said to Jackson before they left Spain. I think we will bring one more signing in before the WBA game. we need to sort this Moussa Baradji deal and whether we are going to sign him or not Bring in a centre back attacking right sided midfielder
  12. My tournament favourite (for England) is Kiera Walsh. She flies under the radar. She seems to have an extra spark from time to time which leads to an unexpected danger for the opposition.
  13. We don’t seem to develop wrist spinners these days Chaddy. To be honest we didn’t develop many in the past. Off the top of my head I can only think of a few. One who played for Lancashire and England learnt his early cricket on the common I live facing - Tommy Greenhough. The old guys on here will remember him. It’s a difficult art to master. I tried as I kid and managed to get the leg break going sort of ok. Just for fun, I’d stick to what I knew in real games. Funny thing - when I leant to bowl the googly I lost the ability to bowl the leg break. Shane Warne was a freak. Probably the best spin bowler of all time. His level of accuracy was amazing for a wrist spinner.
  14. Which are the ex-Rovers girls? Is it Stanway, Toone and Walsh?
  15. Gilliver had a disc problem. He ended up seeing Frank Plumb, the chiropractor that I saw about my back years later. He advised him to have a disc fusion, which I think he did. He couldn’t bend his back very well after that but he could play. It’s no fun turning out with a disc problem. Martin Britt had been a star striker at West Ham, he scored 4 goals in the FA youth Cup final whilst being marked by no other than Liverpools Tommy Smith. However he’d got a bad knee injury before we signed him. Allegedly we’d tried to sign Colin Bell from Bury but he decided to go to City. So we went for Britt. He retired from the game after his time with us. He must have been about 21. Very sad. I saw an old photo of him looking really lonely on his own walking with a stick in Blackburn town centre.
  16. Hemp POTT for me - ran her blood to water. Always willing to carry the ball and give England an outlet.
  17. well done the Lioness, didn't watch it the final or any of the tournament but back to back winners is a great achievement by them so the deserved huge credit for that how is Malta these days? beautiful place to holiday Women sport just isn't for some people. I have no interested in Women football but can recognised that for some people are really invested in it and attend games.
  18. I agree , I hate liv but anyone that talks us up is good by me
  19. He's somebody who would improve the first 11, so no, we're not.
  20. We made a good profit on him and he hardly played for Palace and drifted out of the game.
  21. If the club went to those lengths, it also makes no sense to then claim they don't care what the fans think.
  22. Today
  23. Brilliant, proud of them all!
  24. Gestede said more than once that incoming fees will not be added to the budget that was set. We are fine with ffp...we spend penny's on incoming transfers and the playing squad wages have been cut way down from what they were previously. So going off your logic we should sell Hyam, Brittain, Tronstad and Travis this summer as they all have one year left. Do you think we would still be a championship club going into 26/27 if we do this?
  25. The famous £20m figure is not relevant for FFP as a chunk of the expenses we incur are ineligible for those purposes. One of those was the womens team I believe. Was.
