  1. Past hour
  2. How can someone know a club when no club ever stays the same?
  3. A great win, one that I didn’t really see coming. In the second half there was only one team that looked like winning and if we’d have been more clinical it could easily been 3 or 4. Toth 8, kept us in the game with a wonder save at a critical time. His distribution wasn’t great at times, but your keeper is there to keep the ball out of net, and that’s what he does. Alebioso 8, what a find this lad has been. Like Stanley Mathews everybody knows he’s going to go on the outside but he still managed to pull it off. Grand run for the second goal. Miller 7, he put in a wholehearted and committed performance. Typical Aussie. Wharton 8, I thought he led by example today. A good captains performance. McClouglin 7, he had some scares but on the whole I thought he did ok. DeNeve 7, I was surprised to see him subbed but Leicester were getting a lot of joy down the right wing in the first half. Not altogether his fault but when Hedges came on in the second half things tightened up Tronstad 7, still not back to his best on the ball but he’s pretty tireless out of possession. Gardener-Hickman 6, just a busy player. He spurned a golden chance in the second half. He made a really good late run, pointed to where he wanted the pass to be played, the Rovers player puts it on a plate exactly where he was pointing, and he puts it row Z. On his weaker foot apparently, really ? Henrikson -5, the lad isn’t playing with a full deck. Two bad fouls for no good reason in our opponents half ! He’s a walking yellow card. I wouldn’t start him ever again, he’s too much of a risk. Ohashi -7, never stopped running throughout the game. A real pest to play against and he takes some of the weight off Gudjohnsen. Gudjohnsen- 8, what can you say ? Sometimes he looks like a fish riding a bike. That too weak pass out to Ohashi that nearly got Ohashi flattened is a classic example. However, like a good poacher, he gambled on a mistake for his first goal, he was ready and on his toes to flick that ball home. Sam Gallagher would have just watched it happen. For the second goal he made just the right run at just the right time to be in just the right place to wallop the ball into the roof of the net. You can’t knock it. Subs Hedges 7, tightened up that left hand side by staying back a bit more. Montgomery 7, kept busy when he came on. We needed a bit more energy at that time and he provided it. Morishita 7 , I thought he played ok without pulling up any trees. A better bet than Henriksson. Forshaw N/A. Not on long enough to give a score. Guueye N/A the lad never gets the benefit of the doubt from the officials. He was within an ace of scoring the daftest goal I’ve seen in a long while. Ismael 8, got most things right apart from starting with Henriksson. When Rovers win away and the dingles lose at home what could be better. Shame about England in the Rugby League but you can’t have everything !
  4. The Halingden Haaland is like an 18 month old puppy. Suddenly in a physical body without the nouse to quite use it yet. Unfortunately we may have to bite the towel for 3 months whilst he gets up to speed, but once he does he's got the attitude and physicality to be a decent to good championship player
  5. He's asking you to explain your viewpoint but you just keep repeating it.
  6. So which clubs does it suit then? And why?
  7. He's made three sensational saves in the last two games.
  8. Henriksson picked up lots of yellows in Sweden as well, that’s always been a weak part of his game. I’m still partial to his player type and I think he’s showing signs of improvement, he was involved in the buildup for the first goals both today and against Soton. Whether he plays for us when everyone are available I think will depend on what formation we use, but I do see him being of use to us throughout the season.
  9. Feels like Still and Manning are already past the point of no return. Just a question of how engaged and decisive the Norwich and Southampton boards are at this point. Hopefully they 'keep the faith' a little while longer.
  10. Today
  11. Interesting to see us really commit to two proper forwards up top. Not suggesting its in anyway connected to them both being back at Ewood in various capacities, but I think last time we played with two centre forwards was Gestede and Rhodes? Its refreshing after years of one striker and a number 10 playing off them.
  12. Based on Leicester's recent form and performances I thought we could get a point here. Didn't expect a win and a clean sheet, though. Three unexpected but potentially vital points to bank in the survival fund.
  13. One things for sure. It's nice to already be 3 points better off this week than I expected to be, heading into the Derby game 😃
  14. My favourite bit today was the millar tackle at the end to keep a clean sheet. Clearly they care.
  15. We made Leicester look poor today. But they are hardly ripping this league apart either. They need to few new signings and give that side a freshen
  16. I have told you earlier, the problem again is you accepting my viewpoint
  17. On FlashScore Toth got a 6.5 today. Were they watching a completely different game????
  18. I thought Morishita had a better game today which was pleasing to see. McLoughlin was solid today and Gardner hickman did his job.
  19. Top drawer stuff that second goal. Amazing. Deserved win, Toth kept us in the game when he had to with one of the saves of the season. Hope we can gain some momentum now.
  20. First goal was partly down to bad defending but more so down to Gudjohnson's anticipation. His second goal was pure class made by Alebiosu's ability. Wharton was solid but my mom was Toth. Other team members played their part, some more than other, but three outstanding performances plus the away fans contribution have made today a very good day.
  21. It’s a great battling win but Leicester had a massive off day, they should have at least scored 1, we can’t control games as our midfield aren’t good enough in possession and it’s causing a lot of stress on our back line to hold up with the other teams possession/attack. It worked today but I’m not naive to think on another day Leicester win that easy. Hickman and henriksson are really limited as footballers, il be honest , I don’t know what our scouts no team saw in either. Tronstadt has been fairly poor this year, our passing is woeful in the middle. i will hold my hands up and say de neve is actually fine, I criticised him at the start of the year but I think he is better than kargbo and hedges going forward. Needs to learn to be a bit more defensive if we stick by this formation. Morishita is clearly a good footballer, but he needs to get up to the pace and physicality if he is going to be effective . happy to see Andri grab a couple, as I said earlier he is limited but if all he is , is a finisher then it’s fine, goals win games. gueye isn’t good enough, he needs moved on in January and us to get an adequate other option up top. clearly our three best players are toth, alebiosu and cantwell when he is fit. We are going to lean on them all heavily this season as we don’t have a great deal of quality elsewhere but I will enjoy the win tonight and the 2 on the bounce this just about gives us a bit of breathing space
  22. The league is very poor this year , the 3 relegated teams at present are not up to much . Birmingham & Wrexham , have not kicked on , like I thought they might. Early days yet though !
  23. I have , no complaints with the manager today!
  24. Excellent performance today ! Looked like a team for once !
  25. Bristol City got spanked 5-1 at Stoke today. So we are likely to face a reaction. Don't give away free kicks in Scott Twine territory...
