  1. Past hour
  2. But the role doesn't involve coaching, so I'm not sure why coaching badges would help. Those sound like reasons for him to be a striker coach, and I really wouldn't mind him passing on his knowledge of how to move in a penalty box and how to strike a ball to our goal-shy front line. But loan manager seems a job more about negotiation, keeping an eye on players out on loan and perhaps an understanding of who is ready for loan and what level they should go to. Those seem more like scouting skills (apart from negotiation) and beyond having been a footballer I don't see what qualifies him for this.
  3. Well I've no Great Expectations for this season and am living in a bit of a Bleak House regarding Rovers
  4. ‘Birthday Boycott’ has a nice ring to it.
  5. Agree although i think we've got to look at it like this if it wasn't him 'the agency' would serve up one of their clients probably with zero affinity or connection to Rovers and charge a fortune for it. Remember John Jensen being shoved in as Kean's number 2, that kind of thing. Rhodes always came across as a grounded sensible lad and at least has some feeling for the club so i presume he's here to try and do a good job not just have a gravy train ride. He'll not be short of money.
  6. The Derby game is category A pricing for match tickets and Platinum in hospitality. They must be expecting a good attendance 🤔
  7. Yeah, makes sense. Still raw from the game being gone. It's a depressing sight in so many ways though.
  8. More than you'd think, but not enough for a Mods trip to Barbados?
  9. On the flip side, could be an opportunity to get some eyes on our situation, as the nation will be watching.
  10. I'm giving you command.. Command of what? There's no-one here, there's only you and me. All the rest are dead or in retreat or with the enemy. ("If he's the new found honesty king"...hahahaha)
  11. Lord have mercy on us. This will still be going through the slow and painful motions this time next year won’t it.
  12. No chance will the Derby game be a bumper crowd aside from the thousands they bring to boost it. Live tv game ? Cat A due to expected away following = 12 k home fans with probably less actually inside the ground. It'll fall flat on it's face and the nation will laugh.
  13. He also spent a quarter of his career on loan, so presumably understands the process from the players point of view. I think if we had a good faith leadership team it'd feel more genuine. But we don't so it doesn't.
  14. Come on the loan manager role must be relatively straight forwards for any experienced ex player. He's just out keeping tabs on our loans and touching base with their counterpart or head coach etc then calling other clubs seeing who might be available for future loan. Then he'll pass the info on. Piece of piss surely.
  15. I know he's good at interceptions but I didn't think he was psychic
  16. You're so negative ! Get behind the boys and show some optimism. Our Norwegian Midfielder is a time travelling psychic FFS. Fed up of these conspiracies. Rudy said it was family reasons, everyone wants to live in Derbyshire we can't compete with the peak district.
  17. Usually I would say no, but at venkys rovers just when you think you have seen the worst, something surpasses it.
  18. Can he honestly be worse than Gueye?
  19. He's young, scoring at international level, just needs somewhere to bed in and shine
  20. Today
  21. Forget the plastic bird, peeling paint/plastic etc you rightly point out. I can't stop looking at the faces in that snap. Heads in hands, arms folded, glum, misery, despair. Some on phones cos they can't be arsed watching what's in front of them anymore. Despite paying for the privilege. And all across the ages, from young kids up in the posh seats to a wide range of adults. I can't spot a single 'content' or happy face. Remember when football used to be fun. Suppose it's not groundbreaking to find a picture of unhappy football supporters. But I assume that was taken soon after the penalty and sending off?
  22. No it isn't. 24th June 2025. It's a shade over 2 months old, hence him speaking about Eustace's departure.
  23. Charlie Adam was loans manager at Burnley for a good while. I'd be very surprised if Rhodes hasn't done several badges already, the PFA offer fully funded B license courses to all senior players, most are able to undertake the practicals, etc at their own clubs. All scholars complete C license as part of their EFL/PL education package.
