  1. Past hour
  2. I would take a copy of that pdf. How sure are you it's genuine?

I really would not be surprised if Clinton was on it, I had a lot of time for his politics but the man was an out and out horn dog and I strongly suspect age was just a number for him.

  3. All the boring hipster rubbish just turns me off football. New edgy names for existing things like 'low block', 'double pivot', a '6' or an '8'. Shite.
  4. As an Ireland fan I can tell you I was a lot more entertained in the Quarter Finals of a World Cup playing long ball, then getting batterd by Armenia while watching a clown fiasco where successful passes were more by luck than design. Play the style that wins you points, winning is the entertaining bit!
  5. Great stuff, really appreciate this. I knew I remembered something about us being the first live non-final game. Thanks pal 👍
  6. Your mention of that game out me in mind of another game which finished early due to a pitch invasion. https://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2013/september/19/throwback-thursday Fulham appealed but the FA (not the Football League) threw it out. Given it was the last match it certainly wasn't a dead rubber. There was plenty at stake as Fulham could have been promoted and Derby relegated. Slightly different circumstances here but the remaining 11 minutes of this match were played behind closed doors. https://www.theoldhamtimes.co.uk/sport/20089516.efl-issue-statement-oldham-athletic-v-salford-city/
  7. Or perhaps when George Courtney cut the match short because Palace fans were on the pitch side on the fateful day in May 1989. Replay in full and Rovers going up.
  8. Put the new lad in upfront. Hes not been signed as a bench warmer. Toth Albieousi Miller Wharton Ribiero TGH Tronstadt Moreshita Cantwell Yuki Gudjohnsson
  9. Yeah I remember that one, it was around December 93/January 94. It was postponed just before kick off. The game Simon Jordon is on about was apparently in 1997 with us already 2-0 up, no idea where he has plucked that one from.
  10. We did have a postponement against Wimbledon it would have been before 97 though. Can't remember what the score was or if it even started but I remember Fashanu, Wise, Jones et al doing belly slides all over the pitch and pretending to swim after it was called off

  12. I understand where you're coming from but my worry is that clubs would start gaming the system and we end up in interminable legal processes when clubs don't agree on the outcome - which could be most of the time! What happens if it's the last game of the season - how long would the process take when it could involve relegation / promotion issues affecting a whole host of clubs? No system will be perfect because, as you rightly point out, there are so many different scenarios. Maybe some system which at least lays out the options (e.g. full replay, complete the match from the point it stopped, result stands, points awarded to one team or the other) - and some guidance as to what the likely outcome is in different circumstances - might help to speed up the process and mean fans are better informed.
  13. Re the bit in bold, yes - in my opinion, what the two clubs want should be irrelevant (so far as the EFL is concerned).
  14. I would argue there is nothing unfair in continuing the match from where it left off. Ipswich will be in exactly the position they were, a goal down a man down having travelled from Suffolk that morning (I’m assuming that’s what they did and what they would do). We’d also be in the same position, one up a man up and ten(ish) minutes to see out. Of course there would be differences, for example they’d have time to plot how best to get something out of the game but equally we’d have time to plan against this. I can’t think (but maybe others can) of any advantage to one team that wouldn’t be offset by an advantage to the other.
  15. Ooh, nice! Didn't know you guys were on youtube. I'm on it! Just looked, I'm already subbed. So, edit - I forgot you guys were on... 😆
  16. It was called off just before kick off wasn't. I remember big fash doing a pre-klinsmen klinsmen.
  17. The score could be significant. Anything can happen in a flash at 1-0. I feel we'll beard done by.
  18. It isn't a precedent case tho is it? Has there been another match abandoned so late in the game with a team having a man advantage due to a sending off ? 11 v 11 a replay of the whole match would have already been announced. I think they will order a full replay of the game but in my honest opinion the fair option would be playing out the remaining minutes 11 v 10
  19. One thing is that the pressure has been completely taken off VI and the players this week due to all the talk being about the abandonment. Might help. Who knows?
  20. I usually agree with most of what Simon Jordan says but he's been way off beam recently on Rovers with his views on the 3 stooges being requested to stay away and now this. If he thinks any game that doesn't make it to the final whistle is "not a completed fixture" and should be replayed in full, Im sure he'd be delighted if Palace had a game abandoned when they were 5 up with 10 mins to go and it had to be replayed in full.
  21. Two separate aspects to this. In a sporting context Id like there to be a partial replay because thats the fairest outcome. If we get that, Id then like the EFL to come down hard on the Club in the hope it'll provoke us into doing something about it. As things stand If there are any matchdays with prolonged rain this winter it's going to be complete pot luck whether we can start/get through the game. It's completely unfair to fans of either side who have to travel any distance to be put in that situation. Are we going to have to start postponing games 24/48 hours before to be on the safe side if there's a bad forecast? It's not on. As I mentioned previously to me it's not that far removed from part of the ground being unsafe/unfit for use.
  22. What's that Rovers vs Wimbledon game he's on about that was abandoned in 1997 with us 2-0 up? I don't believe that ever happened?
  23. Give us three points for the win, then dock us three points for not rectifying a previously known problem.
  24. Exactly, Id be all over that if I were a lawyer for another Club which misses out as a result at the end of the season.
  25. According to Wikipedia (I know!) It was against Saturday's opponents in Feb 1947:
