  1. Past hour
  2. It's no better here in France. Went to Lorient Lille this afternoon and the ref was really big club biased. Handed out yellow cards like sweets to Lorient players whilst giving Lille players a talking to. Match ended 1-7 and Lille deserved their win, but even handed the ref definitely wasn't. Oh and the player linked with Rovers last week missed a penalty.
  3. Some thoughts: Gueye was terrible. He needs to go. Tavares was poor. Kargbo ditto. We were crap in the 1st half, better in the 2nd. Plenty of work to be done...
  4. Ismael seemed to downplay the possibility of more signings beside Gudjohnsen without ruling it out. Elliott Jackson also seems to be under the impression that it might be just Gudjohnsen if that gets done. Thats a massive concern and leaves us short not of bodies but of certain qualities in a few areas. As mentioned, we badly need another senior goalkeeper. Goes without saying. We definitely need a midfielder. People suggesting that Tavares is an upgrade on Travis are totally wrong. He has shown flashes, was woeful today but seems like one we could develop but I wouldnt bank on him every week. Baradji is injured and Montgomery isnt ready. Browne would have been ideal with Championship experience but it seems with Gestede and Owen playing their own game of football manager, its not important. We also still need some pace across the front line, ideally from wide. We needed some going into the summer and havent got that. Kargbo is the only pacy player and he isnt up to the standard. I would like another striker too and to get rid of Gueye.
  5. add: Calling back the throw in in second half JW side when we were through only to give it to Rovers Getting in the way of one of our attackers again in the second half as were moving forward Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he's cost us the game - the players have done that themselves but it was a pretty shite performance. That said, most are.
  6. Fingers crossed they might want VI πŸ™
  7. His agent , won't be bothered one bit !
  8. Thought he was just pipped by Tronstad to be honest, who was absolutely everywhere.
  9. I'm not one to blame refs, don't think I've commented on one all season till now, but at the time I saw that one and seeing it back just confirmed what a poor decision it was having directly led to a goal.
  10. Who cares who we sign. It’ll be more foreign players untested in this league, on much less wages than we’ve been paying seasoned pros from this league. This latest journey is gonna fall flat on its arse.
  11. Until they come good or they leave us. If the former, you'll be asked to retract your opinions. If the latter, he'll change his mind and claim he didn't.
  12. Unforgivable.....yet so many supporters continue to give them a pass. So depressing!
  13. Hedges set the standard for effort and hunger today, the lad chased down everything and drove forward every time he had the ball. Shame none of the others followed his example!
  14. The problem is , in his five to ten minutes here and there he has done fuck-all. Today the only person he put under pressure was the linesman who must have had cramp , keep flagging him off-side.
  15. Thank you mate. Was a great day, shame about the result but had a great wee visit. All the best for the rest of the season πŸ™‚πŸ‘
  16. Thanks everyone. Firstly it was great to visit Ewood finally. First thing I'd say is that you get treated like grown adults down south compared to up here. When I went to go in and held my arms out to be searched, the steward looked at me like I had two heads haha. I explained that up here we are mostly always accustomed to a quick frisk before we enter the ground. Then having a beer before the match aswell, another lovely perk which we cannot be trusted with up here. Ewood looked great, was sitting in the Ronnie Clayton stand, facilities great, stadium looks great, nice and close to the pitch, really enjoyed that aspect. As for the match, I thought Norwich were better in the first half, probably should have scored at least one of the chances Sargent missed, the free header from 3 yards out and the chance at the near post also. The sending off was harsh in my opinion but it kinda reminded me of a few of our red cards this season under old Russell. Sargent was clever and got in front of the Rovers defender and there was contact albeit minimal. What happened to the double jeopardy rule? Second half I thought Rovers dug in and really should have got a point out the match. The big lad at right back looked a good outlet. Tronstad (I think) looked busy in midfield. The Japanese lad up front looked lively but was devoid of service. How the lad didn't score in the second half when he hit it from a few yards out I don't know. Cantwell was a bit sloppy on the ball at times but you could tell he was really trying to make something happen. Sadly not a great result for Rovers but had a great time. Everyone was lovely in and around the stadium. It was nice to take in a match when you are not just constantly watching the keeper pass to the centre halves and then they play about with the ball at the back before losing it and conceding. Oh and that reminds me, the keeper looks a player. Great save in the first half down to his right. I liked the look of him. All the best for the rest of the season, I will be keeping an eye on your results.
  17. Fair enough, I didn’t see the hedges and Alebiousu ones as bookings. I also thought the ref should have got a grip generally on the Cantwell situation earlier, though again don’t think the two players should have been booked just told to grow up and pack it in. From where we were sat it looked a possible penalty but it’s not been mentioned in any of the post match press conferences as far as I heard driving home so maybe not a major incident.
  18. So if Travis pulls him first he should give a penalty as that occurs before the Alebiosu incident. Regardless Alebiosu should still have been stronger and got a decent connection on it. And the defenders in front should never have let it bounce over their heads. But no it’s not the players fault we’ve lost 4 in 5. It’s those bloody referees every time.
  19. Maybe so, but it doesn't make the Alebiosu decision any less ridiculous, 2 wrongs n all that.
  20. Got the Sunday paper round in the morning, need an early night.
  21. Probably watching Travis pulling their goal scorer for about 5 seconds whilst the ball was in flight.
  22. Trav should have been sent off today, never mind booked. Blatantly kicked an Ipswich player in the face.
  23. Ironically, it was that non clearance at West Brom which was the worst decision of them all. The ref shouldn't get another game after missing the foul on Alebiosu. Makes me wonder what he was actually watching. Terrible officiating.
  24. All the ITKS are quiet tonight on twitter
  25. In fairness, how many new signings, across all the leagues have set the world on fire a few games in? Ekitike has done well, Grealish I guess, probably forgot a few but overall not many yet.....
  26. Off the top of my head: Should have booked whoever scythed down Hedges and whoever fouled Alebiosu (#19?) in the first half when they were both clear down the wing. Should have booked both Norwich players who stood in front of the ball when Cantwell was trying to take a quick FK in the second half (Cantwell got a telling off instead). Should have booked the Norwich player who delayed the quick play of a throw-in in the first half. Hedges was fouled off the pitch in the second half and he waved play on. Should probably have given us a penalty for handball (haven't seen it back, but every Rovers player went up for it). Should have sent S. Wharton off for pulling back their attacker in the second half when clean through on goal. I'm only irked by it because Cantwell got booked for standing up for Ribeiro (one of their players was standing over Ribeiro menacingly as he was on the ground) and booked Tronstad for literally his first foul of the game. Either officiate it properly or don't bother and let it become a melee. Don't punish one team harshly and let the other off.
