Considering how chaotic they are at the top, Watford are making some impressive signings...Fans backlash re managerial positions and rightly so, but the owners are reacting and spending. Ours have been asleep for over a decade. -

If we donβt sell, youβre the same person who will be complaining about us letting him go on a free next season. -

Why sell? We ain't spending the money. It isn't increasing our transfer kitty. We've already brought in his replacement and the jury is very much out on whether he's any good. Almost certainly he's inferior to Brittain. If we don't sell him then we get another year of a good Championship player in our ranks. If we do sell we are going to be weaker. More importantly than that Β£2-3 million for him just makes it cheaper and easier for Venkys and probably helps chief stooge with his annual bonus. You're trying to normalise this as just part and parcel of everyday life and that Rovers just need to move on and reinvest and try to get better. None of those things are the priority here. We aren't trying to get better or responding to events beyond our control. We have created this mess through a deliberate strategy of running down contracts and that is because the priority is to cut costs and help the owners. I'd rather not help them. -

On Brittain. Sign a deal or sell at this point. impressive end to last season, seems to suit Ismael as a manager, perhaps we shouldβve tied him down last summer. But I for one was quite critical of him at that point, seemed to be a passenger when us as team where under the pump. Sad to lose him, particularly to a rival, but as many others have stated, we have lost a lot worse and recovered. -
I have just sat down at my screen to start writing the minutes up. I would hope to have them done inside 24 hours and they will then be passed to the club. How long that takes can be very variable depending on when everyone is oil and can get chance to review them. Then I like to give Forum members 24 hours to review them before they go up on the club website in case I have misrepresented anything. Ishmael was not there. in fact in all the years I have been on the Forum there has only ever been one manager who has attended - Gary Bowyer. In fact, in John Williams' day, any discussion of team matters was banned. The minutes are not sent to the EFL. They are of course published on the club website so are freely available for anyone to read.

From what little I know, I suspect that Pasha is very rattled that some things are getting back to the owners, that he has been trying his best to hide. He is aware that Glen does have access to them and that will bug him no end. Be loud be proud, we want Pasha out, either verbally or visually, as he will be trying his best to give an image that all is well, but he is slowly being found out. -

Could anyone really complain if Travis buggers off at the first opportunity? Isn't he supposed to have said to a fan at Accrington on Saturday he hadn't received a contract offer? At his age, his next contract is so important as his earning potential will never be higher. -

Oh yeah, it was only a throw away comment. He thinks I'm wrong about something, I think I'm right and it was his response, that I felt was telling and how he phrased it. -

The present regime inside that club want rid of everyone and they want cheaper. Actions speak louder than words and they are clear. -

Beggars belief the gullibility of some people regarding the club's propaganda. I seem to remember the club moving Travis out on loan to get him temporarily (and presumably hopefully permanently!) off the wage bill. Maybe the LET poster thinks Trav forced that loan in some bizarre attempt to increase his salary from Rovers by showing how brilliant he was for another club and then demanding a pay rise to stay!!! Of course the reality is that he put in possibly his best season for us after coming back - despite being treated so poorly by the club. - Today

Not a concern to this learned poster to the LT: in reply to Gary Ginger Roverend14th July 10:52 pm User ID: 5471465 Agree, Travis, in particular has held the club to ransom way too often now. Get what we can for him and letβs add some pace and power in that midfield. Last Updated: 9 hrs ago -

I reckon Suhail would rather tap dance on a minefield than attend the meetings, but, he said something to me last night, that suggests he's rattled. -

To be fair, no club ever gives official details of failed bids for players so you can't really blame them for not updating us on Kapaudi. Same with Brittain, only word from the club will be when he goes. I imagine there will be a name or two thrown out by Nixon/Elliot this week to distract the fanbase though, it's how we operate. -
They did the exact same thing last pre season so it's no real surprise. We were doing Friday/Saturday double headers, and the week before the season we had Stockport on the Friday night but didn't bother organising anything for the Saturday, despite Elliot telling us all summer that the plan was to have a home game on that Saturday. Feel like we'll be miles behind on other sides when the season starts due to terrible Pre Season planning. Even last weekend on the 5th July most other Championship sides were playing, not sure why we couldn't have had a game then after two solid weeks training.

The chicken in goal, isn't a bad idea actually. we could also use one as a winger too and if we get to the semi final of the league cup, we could draft a couple more in for the second leg. They would help with our survival bid, as we could be saved by the skin of our teeth, as points, could be rarer than hens teeth, this season Keep me abreast of developments, as we have no money so the next signing, should be chicken feed and maybe we will get them by the bucket load. Tasty stuff all this. -
Most friendlies involving foreign teams or PL outfits either require a financial incentive or a degree of organisation/competence/forward planning to involve the travel/timing stuff. Everton takes care of itself as their fans will cover the cost of hosting the game. What this lot want is cheap and easy - a League Two side turning up on their coach from an hour up the road, but we are now getting to the stage where really we need a match on the weekend of the 2nd August and probably also one to fill the gap between getting back from Spain on 26th July having played on 25th against Elche and the following weekend - you'd normally have another one midweek there to keep building up.

Yeah, it mirrors where the safe standing would be for home fans in NO1.
