  1. Past hour
  2. If its either or, then no deal. His value was only going one way. Our desperation led to a crap deal.
  3. He is a prick to be fair. He was when he played against us for both Shrewsbury and Sheffield United. I doubt his opinion is based on where he is in the England pecking order. Wharton has been a bit sloppy at times on the ball. Munoz has been excellent down the right.
  4. The biggest problem with Wharton is that he needs quality around him to show how good he actually is. It was obvious within weeks of his move to the Premier League how much he benefitted from having talented players around him in midfield and good movement in front of him to pass to. As others have said we were eager sellers and Palace knew that. Bournemouth are a self sustaining club with no money worries and could afford to say no. Unfortunately you cannot compare the two clubs, what a shitty thing to have to admit.
  5. Why? I think he's pushing pickford to be England's number 1
  6. adam is having a fine game, palace defending gallently and always have an outball with mateta
  7. Why would you do that? 😭
  8. I’m talking ‘raw’ I.e a first team place at an elite club, Palace obviously thought different…
  9. Ewww Dean Henderson shaping up to be the hero now, still hate that guy He could have been sent off as well
  10. The 'big' clubs pushing for Europe sail close to the wind (with regards to FFP) - they often don't have £18m sat in their transfer kitty ready to splurge in January.
  11. Depends what you mean by 'raw'. Was he the finished article? No. Could he have walked into a dozen PL sides and started from day one? Yes.
  12. Who are even in the big 6 anymore?
  13. considering mgp was a fine header of a ball,im`e still wondering how he missed, must have been fate😫
  14. January or not if the big 6 thought they could get a good deal on a player then they would have been in for him.If they where really rating Wharton and thought 18 million was a bargain they would not have cared it was January. I don't think Wharton was having a very good season ,moments of pure class and quality but in the main certainly December onwards our midfield was being over run and we were conceding a lot and losing I think we would have got a few million more if sold in the summer with other clubs joining the race it wouldnt have been big 6 in for him nor would we have received bids of £30 million like some people here believe
  15. Today
  16. Same, I just want Adam Wharton to do well in his career. Just feels different him coming through the ranks than it normally does. Also, how the fuck have we not been to the new Wembley, so frustrating.
  17. It is, hope he’s developed a bit of a thicker skin as he’ll need it running a L2 club! 😄
  18. Yeah 3 part timers with 3 jobs each or maybe an AI app is now the player liason officer, cheaper is always better the Waghail motto.
  19. I think this is the JoeH used to post on here. I didn't always agree with his posts but he has done well for himself and good luck to him.
  20. The fact the elite clubs didn’t bid says how raw he still was, they didn’t fancy dropping 17 million or whatever then and there for a squad player, unlike a Phillips that was a bit of pocket money for Tottenham - so as I say a normal club wouldn’t have been selling as you aren’t getting the price his potential would obviously lead to. Parish spotted it and could offer first team PL football whilst he was at it.
  21. Adam was watched regularly by the top six PL clubs and I really think that one of them would have made a move in the summer. However we needed money quickly, Palace knew this and low balled us in the relatively safe knowledge we would accept.
  22. Especially one as successful as him!
  23. Come on, teams look beyond England under 21 caps. Those squads tend to be dominated by big clubs. It was January. Teams dont tend to spend much in that window. He would have been a more developed player come the summer, proving his talent more. But even if it was only still Palace in for him. They took advantage because we couldnt wait to kick him out of the door. Say 6 months further into his development, in the more active summer market, and crucially assuming we werent desperate and distressed sellers. You genuinely think none of them make a difference?
  24. But all the other clubs knew what he was available and none of the big clubs bit, if he was being rated externally as he should have been the big 6 would have been falling over themselves to sign him for that money . They could have done that deal they ain't weren't gonna come in in the summer and pay much more for him He also wasn't being involved at under 21 level yer man from Bournemouth had 2 senior caps and loads of big teams after him, if it wasn't for the release clause Bournemouth would have got more money for him
  25. So this £20m investment per season, is looking very much like a myth, unless people from the early days, are still getting a cut.
