  1. Past hour
  2. The strange thig with Szmodics at Ipswich was last season for me. Why did McKenna play him on the left wing? He still had a record of 1 in 5 in the Premier league playing out of position, If he had been utilised correctly you may have stayed up. As it was, he was still your second highest's scorer last season despite missing half the season with injury But used properly, you would have got so much more out of him. Obviously this season your entire squad started badly and then he got more injuries. But for me his was criminally misused by Ipswich last season
  3. Genuinely may as well play with 10 rather than shove Henriksson up top time and time again. It's actually unfair on the player too now because he's just beating the little confidence he must have right out of him, he cannot play there and a blind man could see it. He's still fairly young, he needs time out the first team and coaching properly in his preferred position. One thing that's glaringly obvious is that VI is stubborn, if he thinks he can make something work he will stick to it, even when it's badly failing. Even Mowbray realised the Bradley Johnson false 9 idea was wrong and binned it off. When the chips are down you need a motivational coach, not a stubborn clown. He has to go.
  4. Good for you chief…will you also be at Swansea?
  5. From what I’ve read on this messageboard, he appears both arrogant and incompetent. Makes sense he can identify with the Venkys.
  6. We were always going to lose to high flying Ipswich, So forget the protests, and get behind Rovers.
  7. A long day yesterday and not a happy one. Portman Road is never a happy hunting ground but yesterday we shot ourselves in the foot conceding two poor early goals. The Cashin own goal was one of the softest I've seen. I must admit of the three centre-backs, young Atcheson looked by far the better of the three. McLoughlin simply doesn't win enough headers and is easily knocked off the ball. Cashin, who looked decent at Hull last week, was clearly unnerved by the own goal. The spells when we got ourselves back in the game produced very little although I thought the new lad looked decent when he came on. It's now a big week with Swansea and Watford in quick succession. I'm hoping the journey back from Swansea will be a happier one than yesterday - we need at least a point - and hoping to see a home win on Saturday. Four points from these two games would give us something on which to build when players return from injury. As RoverTilliDie said - onwards and upwards (hopefully).
  8. Well this guy certainly sounds like a serious poster and definitely isn't just on the wind up
  9. Sammies long gone, onwards and upwards, Come on the Rovers.
  10. I genuinely think he believes he's the only Rovers fan to work in the corporate sector and all the lowly blue collar workers should bow to his knowledge. He gets right under my skin but as you say its best not to give him the time of day.
  11. He keeps picking Henrikson, if that doesn’t tell you enough about how clueless this joker is I don’t know what will. Give him a couple more weeks and he will be rivalling Kean and ince’s record. it was a pitiful appointment, he’s a bad manager, always has been. Ah well only 2.5 years left.
  12. Another step towards the drop, shit squad, shit manager, shit management. It’s not a good combo.
  13. I will be attending, the Watford game, Rovers till I die.
  14. There's light at the end of the tunnel my opinion , we were well beaten with high flying Ipswich, but we're not far off the injured returning, and our new strikers debut. I will be attending the Watford game, and hopefully, see Rovers turn the corner.
  15. Today
  16. There are 19 championship Clubs ahead of us in bringing Sammie back
  17. Into must win territory because the Swans are a team we need to be below us after the 46th game. Alebiosu as unused sub for Nigeria last night so he comes straight into the side for me. More controversially I would start Forshaw in place of Baradji and I saw enough of Jorgensen to be starting him too. Pratt for either McLoughlin or Cashin but that won't happen. Definitely keep Atcheson in the side.
  18. Head of Football Operations … no prior experience Absolutely destroyed the team & forced a lot of long time staff of the club out the door The sooner we are rid of him and his pal Val the better. Ismael needs sacking today!
  19. Catastrophic Cashin debut. Long felt McLoughlin's level as a Hull reject was a correct assessment of his capabilities. With George Pratt in the side instead of Cashin we are not 2 down inside 10 minutes. Crap selection. The biggest problem is VI is simply not coaching us on how to play when in possession. There is no guile, no movement, no nothing. These players are much weaker than the team which the loons dismantled but they are better than what they are showing. Of course we are ravaged by absences but this is getting dangerously bad.
  20. I love Sammie back and would be pretty confident he could score us the goals to stay up, but this manager would probably play him at left wing back or something stupid like that.
  21. Why was this fool not sacked last night? 1 win in 12.
  22. This is about the time we'll get a result to give a bit of daylight again. Which will then be followed by a fee defeats.
  23. Just watched the highlights. Cashins own goal was appalling, as bad as you'll see at any level. He was very very lucky to not concede a penalty towards the end of the game too. Looked an absolutely nailed on pen that would have had VI scribbling in his notebook if it had gone against us.
  24. Does the cynic in anyone else think this is Glasner angling for an early payout?
  25. Great original post and one I can resonate with. I grew up in a wee place just outside of Glasgow where I just so happened to live next door to the sister of a certain jack walker. When her husband heard I was into football he would give me signed strips and balls, then tickets, then taking me to jacks office, and I loved it being a young boy, especially with the squad featuring a lot of Scot’s at the time and dalgleish being the manager, I loved being the kid at school that didn’t support rangers or Celtic and would proudly say I was a Blackburn fan. Everyone knew me as the Blackburn fan and would then take an interest in their results/signins knowing I would be invested in all things rovers. I would make the trip down to ewood 3/4 times a season and it was always so exciting to go, I would look forward to it for weeks. sadly jack passed and I moved away from my neighbours , learning of their passing in later years but my link to the club was now deep in my blood , I was obsessed with the club, my weekends hinged on our result. Fast forward to now, I have moved even further away from ewood to the north of Scotland due to work. I haven’t been to ewood this season, my visits became less and less frequent to the point I can’t justify it. I now have 2 boys and I can’t bring myself to pass on my club to them. I used to defend the club to the hilt, I now can’t, I am embarrassed to say it’s who I support. I watch less and less football every season and I blame Blackburn for me losing love of the game. Everything is so flat and bleak with the club it’s just tiring. I’m tired. I’m frustrated. I’m apethetic and lost with the club. My only slight consolation is this forum and having those with similar feelings. I hope that one day we can have a revival but I think there is further falling and despair before that can happen. I will always support the club but from afar these days. When the green shoots arrive, I will return
