My theory is that pre Christmas rovers had some unsold tickets and didn't know if they would sell them. Because they have to buy them upfront they didn't buy any to cover for a last minute rush for last minute planning or a good result against Boro. With no-one on site didn't realise they had sold out and no-one to get extra tickets . when Wednesday gets in touch about fans wanting tickets had to find a excuse and come up with a load of bs again. - Today

Mike Ashley would be considerably more preferable to the cunts that own us now. And obviously he isnt the only alternative. If you disagree, even armed with a fourfourtwo article of 10 reasons why Newcastle fans didnt like him, then you havent paid enough attention over the past 15 years. I feel like you still dont fully appreciate quite how bad Venkys are.

What a load of old bollocks the ‘processing deadlines’ is, we must be the only league club to have this issue. Anyway after a couple of good results and a fixture we’d be targeting for a win I expect we’ll be down to earth with a bump here with a total non performance and a loss. Going for a Charlton style 3-0 drubbing and I hope to be massively wrong -
I'm sorry but you're taking bollocks here. We're one of only SEVEN clubs to have won the league since 1992. Founder members of the football league, tenth most successful club in the country. We haven't had 20-30 million for the last few years and would have finished in the playoffs at least if it wasn't for the owners deliberately sabotaging any and all chances of it happening. After 15 long years of venky destruction we can still shift 9000 massively overpriced season tickets. The support is there. The losses are only as big as they are due to venkys actions. Besides, every other championship club is in the same boat regarding this.

Seemingly every Premiership Club and top Championship Club dont agree. -
We had Sports Direct running the Ewood shop when the Walker Trust owned us. Don't you remember the Lonsdale days? To be honest if the biggest worry is the state of the club shop it's not a big issue Personally I'm not really interested in what Newcastle fans think. If he'd have splashed cash like they wanted the Saudis probably wouldn't have been interested in buying them as a loss making/debt ridden club. I don't need to think about it again. I can say without any shred of doubt that I'd welcome a proper businessman with a brain like Mike Ashley over the poison that has ruined Blackburn Rovers. If that means having 'sports direct' boards around Ewood rather than mouldy 'Venkys' ones fine by me.
-
I'd rather be owned by a Mike Ashley than be the sports washing public front of a tyrannical middle Eastern state. Judging by your thoughts on eligibility to host the World Cup Chaddy, I'm assuming you'd be more than willing to turn a blind eye to major human rights infringements if it meant throwing some blood money about?
-
Yet Newcastle fans hated Mike Ashley as owner and here 10 reasons why they did https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/newcastle-united-mike-ashley-worst-moments-owner-fan-supporter-relationship-joe-kinnear-alen-pardew-alan-shearer Our club shop would be Sports direct outlet like what happened at Rangers FC https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-sports-direct-partnership-ends-21962650 Maybe think about this one again.

I'm just glad all that preparation in the first 3 warm-up games games meant England won the first Test in Melbourne

I don't think there's any more to it than them just cutting corners, as per. As this game straddles the Christmas period and shop/ticket office closures someone down there, who probably has never bought an away ticket in their life, will have come to a decision that it was a whole lot easier for them to just stop selling on 23rd when they were shutting down for Xmas and then they could forget about it and come back in the New Year with the Wrexham game to occupy them. They won't have stopped for a second to think about inconvenience to fans, or that there would be a lot of people unable to commit over a week in advance, especially during the Christmas period, or that the Middlesbrough game/performance/result might affect decisions, or that plans change at the 11th hour. They just treat fans as an inconvenience and appear amazed when their decision making gets called out. In familiar fashion we get a hastily cobbled together 'statement' with no name to it making a number of excuses and offering no assurances but trying to point the finger of blame away from Ewood. They are good at that part of things. Just stuff that never happens anywhere else. But that's because all other clubs are invested in helping their supporters and ensuring as many as possible get to games. Clearly that isn't the remit at Ewood these days, and it shows. -

Not that it makes much difference, but I’d wager this wouldn’t have happened if Waggott was still here. -
Interesting. So you would oppose Mike Ashley owning us - a man who had Newcastle as one of the most profitable and financially stable clubs in the country, and due to his financial management attracted the Saudis to buy them, and would rather continue with the current disgrace where we - somehow - continue to lose an 8 figure sum every year as we circle the plughole to oblivion and the club decays. There is a big inconvenience to the 'who would buy us?' brigade - there's zero evidence to support those claims (except that people don't - and won't - ever publicise interest in buying something that isn't for sale - yet there is plenty of evidence that shows that Championship loss making football clubs ALWAYS attract new owners. Some good, some bad, some rich, some not as rich - but clubs change hands with regularity and I think you could count those that rival Venkys for appalling mismanagement on one hand.

The club is run by a shower of twats bathed in their own self aggrandisement and ineptitude up to their moronic eyeballs. I think I've covered most bases with that. FECK EM. VENKYS OUT! -

If it's anything to do with the boycott then it is pure idiocy, as the vast majority of those still buying tickets won't boycott anyway. If anything this would drive more people to do so out of feeling disrespected. -
Unsure if it is a repost but I notice he posted on his Insta he was doing some type of food giveaway for Christmas. In the background is our badge etc, and so presuming a repost? If not, then a) well on Dolan for continuing to be a stand up guy and b) giving back to our community
-
Its all depends what type of new owners you would get and people would be very wary and uncertain which would be natural until you know their background, their plans for . Like I would be against someone like Mike Ashley owning us. I took interest in who Sheffield Wednesday preferred bid would be and the groups interested in the club. Yes you could lower ST prices and match day tickets but your money from them would be roughly the same, yes a better atmosphere in the ground and given that Sodexo runs the concourse outlet, you wouldn't get additional revenue from them or the foot outlets outside the BBE either. So bring in more sponsorship to the club is the biggest way
-
I don't see why any of that is an argument against boycotting. If you are unhappy with the way the club is run then boycotting is an opportunity to show it - it's only one match.

Was that when he returned to the team after he'd broken his leg? He definitely took a while to recover and was often caught in possession. An idiotic section of the crowd took to booing and jeering him, I remember being appalled at the time. Same with Ronnie Clayton when he lost his pace late in his career. Astonishing that fans would react like that to 2 of the greatest servants we have ever had but they did. -
Anyone with knowhow could improve the revenue stream but not this lot! These owners have created the shortfall so it's right they should pay for it. If they are not prepared to pay for it they should sell. Instead their minions just try to make false economies everywhere (like the pitch, the stadium etc) and the Club goes down and down. Surely you can see this? The signs of decline are all around you.
