  1. Past hour
  2. God, I’d love to see the package Suhail puts together for this. €1.5 million upfront. Paid over 5 seasons. €1 million if we finish top 10 in the Premier League in the next 3 seasons. €1.5 million if Isak is a Newcastle player in 2027. €1 million if Motherwell beat Barcelona in a Champions League fixture before 2030. €1 million if our owners beat a tax case against the Indian Government who have a 97% success rate in court.
  3. They are obviously trying it on. No way do you pay that for a player whose contract is up in less than 12 months.
  4. “According to the specialized media RoversXtra, the discussions are already well advanced between the two clubs.” 🤣🤣🤣
  5. Ah c'mon that's too far. The heart was ripped out of the club many years ago. Players like Buckley, Travis, S. Wharton wouldn't have got a sniff when we were good.
  6. Le Telegramme in France reporting our interest in Soumano and confirming talks taking place but they also state Lorient have set the price at €6m . Can't see that happening if that's the case. https://www.letelegramme.fr/sports/football/fc-lorient/une-offre-tombe-pour-lattaquant-du-fc-lorient-sambou-soumano-6876878.php
  7. Buckley needed to move on for himself, I always hoped it would click for him but it hasn’t. On the side note though, all I can see is the heart being ripped out of the club. Who knows what will happen this season, the signings we have brought in have surprised me. Whether they gel together is another thing but here’s hoping. All the best Buckley, you’ll always be a Rover in my eyes.
  8. Also have to factor in the cost of living. Some of the wages look great on paper, but once you start paying Dubai prices (with the mindset of a footballer) it can go rather quickly.
  9. Blimey, they've had a couple of games and you've already made your mind up on them. Buckley's had forever to prove he's got 'it' and has still come up short....
  10. I think this is the crux of it here. He's failed upwards and shows absolutely no humility whatsoever. Then you have the media trying to gaslight everyone into believing he's some kind of football genius after we've just watched his team get pumped 5-0 without the opposition breaking a sweat. I look forward to watching him fail. Cockwomble.
  11. But even with lots of time, he isnt particularly productive. I dont think he is bullied particularly. His ability on the ball wouldnt stand out to make him look brilliant in a more technical league.
  12. There was plenty of time before Wharton emerged. Buckley had the only real somewhat sustained run of form under Mowbray, ironically as a false 9 which was questioned. His form massively tapered off before the season ended. Wharton only emerged the season after and was soon back out of the team with questions about his attitude. In all of that time, Buckley struggled to get to grips playing deeper and never fully established himself or got back into any form. Buckley's style makes him look like a graceful player. He just isnt very good.
  13. Forshaw signed because he’s English, so helps that quota, is happy to sit on the bench and if we need someone to bring on when we’re comfortably winning he can do a job?
  14. Isn't that his 3rd straight red card? That seems a lot for a winger who is not that sort of player.
  15. I actually feel like Buckley - in the right headspace - could make a really good career for himself. If he moved to Portugal, for example, he’d have loads of time on the ball and could look brilliant. The reality is that in this league unless he’s 100% up for it, he’ll get bullied.
  16. I'm sorry but I don't think I can listen to that cunt without finding myself in the slammer by the end of the day.
  17. Spot on, exactly the same sentiments. To start, I'm not a massive Buckley fan- always felt like he needed a rocket up his arse. However, his range of passing is brilliant and he can certainly read the game and nick/intercept the ball.. I've seen nothing in Tavares or Henrikson that suggests they have more ability than Bucko. When you add in the fact he's an academy lad and obviously loves the club I don't know why we couldn't have held onto him and just not signed Foreshaw- especially with Travis going. We've a squad now full of lads from all over Europe with absolutely no affinity to the club. They better be bloody good Rudy!
  18. Toth Alebiosu Hyam McLoughlin Riberio Tronstad Tavares Hedges Cantwell Morishitma Ohashi Winnable game.
  19. He's one player, if he could refind his love for the game, I wouldn't mind us having a buy back option on because there is a real talent in there somewhere, his main problem seems to be the six inches between his ears.
  20. It was a sending off. I'll offer the two rather long stud marks on van Dijk's calf as evidence. Gordon did try to pull out. He did bend his knees at the last second but still caught van Dijk on his standing leg. The "not that type of player" tag is an illusion. All professional footballers have an aggression that could get the better of them. Some either control it, or are rarely in situations where it boils over for them. The emotion of the game both helped and hurt Newcastle. It allowed them to force Liverpool into mistake after mistake but it got the better of the aforementioned Gordon. Guimares and Joelinton spend most games booting people and were both lucky to stay on. Burn hoofed Salah who managed to get up so Burn did it again. Should he have gone? The ref booked him for the first challenge when he eventually blew the whistle. Even Trippier Slot definitely does need to sort out his defence. Konate has had a shocking start to the season. Kerkez has been at fault for 2 goals because he didn't defend the back post properly.
  21. Good luck, John. I’ll always believe the emergence of Adam Wharton had a massive impact on his development here. John was the next one through, the midfield player and very quickly got overtaken and overshadowed on an undeniable level. Not convinced Saudi is the right option, but it’s a place to find some confidence again and find a move back. I suspect he won’t be getting paid boatloads of money like is suggested, he just won’t pay any tax.
  22. Sad, emotional. You can hear it in his voice. He's obviously very upset to be leaving. Wish him all the best. Very good player on his day, probably never quite lived up to his potential
  23. Thank you Buckley for the many wins on “to get booked” on the betting … always a certified yellow in reality though glad to see Buckley go - wasted his time and chances
  24. 8 in 16 out so far? Swing doors revolving faster than a twitter rumour 🙂
  25. Remember that one, awesome football from Rovers, let's hope Norwich don't remember it, and get revenge.
