  1. Past hour
  2. Cutting the wage bill seems to be the plan but contradicts what Gestede said a few months ago? Sure he will put the record straight soon….. He said some players (with just a year left) would sign extensions - imagine he was more put on the spot as clearly has not been the case. How many first team players have signed a contract extension over the past year or so - just Riberio?
  3. Well it’s definitely not strategy A
  4. ..or the Neville's house ..oh, wait
  5. Think someone said Waggott had confirmed to people verbally in meetings. It seems fairly certain we have the clause. Whether the % is accurate I wouldn't bet my house on.
  6. This is not on Palace. Well done to them for taking a chance on him when others dithered. Wee duggy takes credit (that part is just a wind up) the only ones to blame are venkys
  7. Cholera typhoid analogy is perfect..Suhail and Gestede both have previous with Steve Kean....Hmmm
  8. We havent spent anything either in real terms. The Clubs that havent bought anyone probably havent sold anyone either. We've had a huge turnover of players but have managed to shift the vast majority of the higher earners so I would imagine we've vastly reduced the wage bill which was probably the only real goal for this window.
  9. Freebies cost more in wages - especially established Championship freebies. Loans cost a loan fee then you pay their wages for a year. Yes, they're hoping to a) survive and b) unearth a few players they can sell on for a big profit so they can keep the cycle / gravy train going for as long as possible.
  10. Will still be magically Β£20M wage bill in the accounts tho
  11. Addendum to previous, we will only sign a new keeper if Pears leaves, otherwise I imagine we will reintegrate him if possible.
  12. Yeh I thought so too but then why buy players? Like why do they spend money ? It seems to make no sense- we could easily bob around with freebies or loans or just renew a contract here or there but to buy a few players for over a Β£1m each doesn’t seem to fit the notion unless they want us to survive and potentially make money off these players? Like are they hoping we unearth some one who will be sold for a few mill?
  13. Who the fuck are Derby Rovers? If the season carries on as shit as it's started then the only entertainment we've got to look forward to is you tying yourself in knots to justify your pathetic support for anything and everything the club does, regardless of what their actions will yield.
  14. The ambition is to bob around in mid-table Championship obscurity for the lowest possible cost.
  15. I don’t understand why we are spending money, even Β£2m on players if our ambition as a club is to not stay up- some clubs don’t spend anything and we do- it is a bit baffling- we buy these random players, are they on low wages? Do we have a strategy as a club?
  16. No doubt Ossydave will clarify in due course but Im interested he said "stands" (plural) If that's the case presumably they'll have to do something?
  17. It is perhaps a tad disingenuous, as Mr RTMO8 suggests, but then again, football is a horrible business, full stop. As much as we may feel aggrieved that Adam has matured into his status as a football hot property, it has taken place under Palace's roof, and we never had an icecube in hell's chance of enabling him to develop to the level he has reached, due in spades to the incompetent, short-sighted, non-football savvy and genuinely disinterested in anything that is in the best long term interests of Blackburn Rovers ownership and management arrangements at the club. Palace are just fortunate to have had decent business people who are passionate about football holding the reins for the past 20 years plus, whilst we have been hamstrung by bewlidered, befuddled, remote, retarded owners who know about as much about football as Donald Trump knows about diplomacy and discretion. They didn't steal Adam Wharton - we THEY gave him away cheap.
  18. I dont because we've replaced the Coventrio with Pasha/Gestede and Ismael. Like replacing cholera with typhoid. We did reasonably well under JDT and JE though despite the regime wouldnt you say?
  19. This one is relatively local to me so if I can get one I'll try and grab some tickets. We really, really need to make the most of this international break - the games are going to start coming thick and fast and if we don't step it up we could find ourselves adrift very quickly. I'd like to see the team from the second half on Saturday but with Gudjohnsen ready to come on and shake things up. I'll try and be optimistic and say Watford 1-1 Rovers.
  20. Very confident he will never get to run past Alebiosu
  21. Prepare for the narrative that the fire brigade are all snakes and out to get Rovers because they've closed down the stand. Couldn't be venkys fault, they never refuse to sign a cheque.
  22. 100%... I think the change works as a bit of a distraction...until excitement over the new signings turns into grim realisation..
  23. Such a passive way to admit blame. Their issues fall far below employing those 3. The first 2 were flawed brought as much as good as bad, especially Mowbray, and surely after Suhail's influence has come to light, Waggott was an issue but clearly never THE ISSUE over here. I expect us to thrive though now without those 3 at the club.
  24. Eh? We were willing to force him out to anyone willing to take him even when he didn't want to, and he's been playing (when fit) regular PL football and won a major trophy. This is entirely on our owners and no one else.
  25. Cheers. Roughly what I thought off the top of my head without totting it up. Without wanting to give them any credit, the gross amount spent is better than many feared but it counts for nothing if the ones coming in are no good and nil net spends are probably only going to send us in one direction in the long run.
