  1. Past hour
  2. How is it tin pot to be celebrating a local lad whose career trajectory is looking like he will go down as one of the great English players? There have been other players who have left us that are doing equally well. David Raya for example. There isn’t the same interest because he isn’t a Blackburner, he doesn’t still come down and watch the Rovers I suppose if you don’t like it, you don’t have to read the thread at all. Nothing tragic about keeping an eye on one of our own
  3. Sell Brittain for £3 or £4 million and replace him with a kid from Villa's academy sounds about right for Venky owned Rovers
  4. Another roll of the dice on a lad that hasn't played a minute of Men's football. Be still my beating heart.
  5. or maybe they see a young head coach who they see something in. expect Will Still to get the job there at Southampton
  6. Supposedly,i think Pickering was having one of his off nights.
  7. I've never seen him play so can't comment on ability but is there anything that stand out about him as keeper or just the run of mill keeper? Would you pick Michalski over him and would Michalski be the 3rd choice keeper next season for you? was Pickering not the left back with Dolan on the left wing? Stoke City - Blackburn Rovers, Mar 10, 2023 - Championship - Match sheet | Transfermarkt
  8. Filly signed up to the tinpot, cringe club. As someone else said, my love of football goes beyond watching Rovers, and that Wharton will almost certainly be playing at the very top will only enhance my enjoyment of watching it. Sorry.
  9. great by Adam Wharton and that's how grounded he actually is as a person
  10. I’m fully invested in following AW’s career. He seems a very unassuming, likeable lad who also happens to be a very very good footballer. Most importantly, he’s also a Rovers fan. Cant wait to see how he gets on. Apologies if that makes me a bit ‘cringe’.
  11. Today
  12. I remember in that game Tugay controlling a ball then doing a full 360 with it never losing control for a split second
  13. After he was removed/signed by Palace, he turned up one Saturday at an Event in Wilpshire/Salesbury that my Grandsons went to. My daughter took a picture of Adam with them in their Rovers tops. She sent copies of the photos to the Senior Training Centre for Scott to get Adam to sign. I got a phone call the NEXT day to say they were signed and waiting for collection. JW Upper season ticket holders will confirm how many times Adam was at a Rovers game in the last 15 months. The Wilpshire Pirlo is one of our own.....in a long line stretching past David Dunn, Bryan Douglas all the way thru Bob Crompton to the Club Founders. In our low key(!)150th Year we should be celebrating them all much more.
  14. Don't let them Toffees tell you Goodison was the first purpose built football ground. Our Leamington Street ground was the daddy of them all. When Rovers did win a raffle
  15. To be fair, it looks like Dolan was being asked to play left wing AND left back. Talk about a defence going awol.
  16. Peter O’Rourke linking us with an 18 year old Right Back called Tristan Rowe on loan from Aston Villa. Our cup runneth over….
  17. Thanks, my old man was going to get one but can only make Saturday 3pm games really. Even at Senior prices in the JWU that makes it north of £40 a game. He’s not bothering.
  18. this is a decision that illustrates that nobody in the club has a clue what they are doing,it makes absolutely no sense at all to retain a 20 odd year old goalkeeper who is never going to make a 1st team appearance,he did`nt even make an impression when loaned out in the non league
  19. It's certainly a strange decision. I honestly can't ever see him challenging for a first team place and see him more as a blocker for the pathways of our younger keepers. It's the low hanging fruit again from Gestede. The real effort should be in getting new deals done for the senior players whose contracts are winding down.
  20. Hilton left in January, Eastham, Goddard & Kahn are out of contract this summer. Michalski & Honor are the 2 who are currently in contract from the U21s. Then we have Wolsoncroft, Thompson & Holt in the U18s
  21. We also have about 10 keepers for the U21's, thought there were a couple of others ahead of him, or at least a couple more highly rated than him? Maybe Pears is off and this guy becomes No.2, which is crazy but expected of this regime.
  22. Even if they hear they won’t listen.
  23. That is a terrifying thought 😉 https://www.playmakerstats.com/player/jack-barrett/660024 G M GC AST Premier League International Cup 4 360 6 0 Premier League 2 8 720 21 0 Northern Premier League 8 720 12 0 U21 PL Cup 3 270 7 0 National League Cup 3 270 11 0 Total 26 2340 57 0 B
  24. I counted (hopefully correctly!) seven.

  26. If Tom Cleverley gets the job of a relegated side with parachute payments, considering he oversaw the worst second half of a season in the Championship, then he has one hell of an agent.
  27. My thinking is that some prem team will take Pears to be 3rd choice in the summer and Barrett will be promoted to back up behind Toth. Cheap and cheerful.
