2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂
bluebruce replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
2nd top scorer, a goal off top scorer, for a side who came very close to the playoffs. I think they'll see that as a decent signing for a squad player given where they finished. If they see him as the main man then yeh maybe they won't amount to much, but it's probably a squad player that can add some goals in tight games they're looking for. -

Silvester. Broughton. Waggott. JDT. Eustace. The fans The players? Who's next in the fall guy queue? It's only a matter of time before this shit show completely falls apart. I've said it before but...Yasir, Rudy...if you are reading this...do yourselves a favour. Nobody is succeeding at this club under this shit regime. Look at the past 15 years at this football club and tell us why we should be content with this ownership? Use your own brains and get that crap about us wanting a repeat of 1995 out of your heads. That's a false narrative deliberately being put out there to discredit us fans. Ask around Blackburn, Yasir...which Rovers fans do you know or speak to, who want Venky's out, because they want the Shearer and Sutton days back and the spending of the 90s to return? You know that's bullshit, we know that's bullshit. Rudy would do well to start grasping that. Know, that it's Pasha's exit we are after. It's him and the owners we have a massive issue with. Blackburn Rovers does not recover until Pasha and Venky's are gone. If you want to back Pasha and do his bidding, that's up to you, but you then become a part of the problem. On Waggott, of course I'm glad he has gone. This has been a long time coming. He he has played his part in the dumbing down of this club and the lowering of expectations. From day one it was clear what he was about, but many out there convinced themselves into believing he was a good appointment because he wasn't Shaw or Agnew. What a ridiculously low bar to operate from, but once again, this all goes back to the actions of those at the top. We've been making do for 15 years based on the sad rationale that the new appointment/signing/coach/whoever is less shit than the previous incumbent. Standards are on the floor at this club and there have been two constants throughout all of this. While I'm pleased with Waggott's exit, it changes nothing in the overall picture. You're next, Pasha. -

Well said Sir. My thoughts exactly. -
This is a day to be celebrated. That fat rat has darkened our doors for far too long with his pound shop, rented coach, small club CEO mindset. He doesnt deserve a tenth of what he has earnt whilst reducing Blackburn Rovers in every single facet over the last 7 years. What happens next fuck knows, but today I will celebrate, good riddance.

I know there’s far bigger issues but what’s with so many words starting with capitals??

The only cautionary note to be sounded about Waggott leaving is that he wouldn't leave that cushy number unless it were absolutely necessary. Having massively upped his own remuneration in the last set of accounts that might have been one last hurrah from him before he left knowing the s**t was flying unerringly towards the fan. Might be he wanted to exit stage left before he got the blame for none of the better players being signed up to new deals this summer or next etc. If it is a sign of internal implosion and the owners' exit possibly being hastened, most will view that as a positive I'm sure. -

I think the next step to that will be to get Pasha on his bike because while we don't know for sure, it seems very likely that he is the one keeping us from letting them know our views and is the one giving his version of events as opposed to everyone else's. Maybe they think we've forgiven them and think they're great for putting bare minimum in, they might not realise how much we want them to sell -

In my opinion the owners allocate Waggott and Pasha an annual budget and beyond that, up until recently at least, as long as the Club remains within budget, they have relatively little idea what happens down at Ewood on a day to day basis. Do you think the owners actually set ST prices? Or care two hoots whether we sell (say) 15,000 Season tickets at £150 or 7,500 at £300 as long as financial targets are met? - Today

It’s a welcome move for me and normally I’d be looking forward to moving forward. Venkys have latched onto the obvious unrest at the club and with the fans. The problem is that they don’t understand what’s really happening down here, how the fans feel or have felt for the last 15 years, or what they need to do to turn all that around. They might be doing this with good intentions, or they might have other reasons but in my opinion they don’t understand and they never will. if you don’t understand the problem you can’t fix it. -
Still banging on about ‘communication’ and seemingly put out that Steve didn’t give them a bell first. The committee needs to get a grip of its priorities, and quick.

Prospective CEO when realising that he will have no line to or communication with India, like Waggott will only be measured on how much he cuts and saves, has to employ work experience blokes in senior positions at the Club, oh and has to take orders from the curtain twitcher who sits below him in the club pecking order yet has contact with the owners. Yeah on second thoughts you can stick your job. They aren't looking for a CEO they are looking for a figurehead to provide legitimacy and act as a shield. -

Exactly. Waggott has had no clout for quite a while now. They are getting rid of him to save money. Nothing will change any time soon. -
It was a strange build up because both managers have performed so consistently badly that I dont think that a European trophy would make either warrant another season in charge. Its not as if they have had a disappointing season where they have finished 8th/9th/10th where a trophy can sort of excuse it, they have been shambolic. The Europa League has also been of a much poorer standard without the Champions League drop outs. Even with a trophy, I dont see how those clubs can finish where they are and convince the higher ups that they are building something. Amorim doesnt seem to be under any pressure, obviously hes different in that he hasnt had the full season but they were 4 points off the Champions League places when he joined. I dont know if these are 100% true but he has apparently won 9 points in 5 months and has a points per game record of 0.02 per game more than Steve Kean! Hes stubbornly stuck to a system that clearly isnt working and there have been no signs of any improvement whatsoever.

I'm glad to see the back of Waggott who outstayed his welcome. For me the biggest one to remove has been and continues to be Suhail Pasha. That fuckers super glue grip on staying is as impressive as it is infuriating. All attention on him and The Venkys. -

He will have signed a juicy NDA, happily, with his greedy grubby little hands. He'll also be fully aware of the nefarious leverage Venkys will use if someone crosses them. He will ride off into the sunset and we will never hear from him again. -
My guess is that Spurs fans won't care. They won a European trophy and have Wednesday night Champs League games to look forward to next year. As to the game, like most I wanted both teams to lose but I'll take Man U losing over Spurs. It wasn't a classic by any means but Spurs decided to park the bus which was a rare day for them. Man U needed 1 goal so took of 1 abysmal striker in Hojlund and replaced with with one just as ineffective in Zirkzee. Next up was a change at wing back. Man U have some massive problems. If their aim is the top 4 they need to replace the whole squad which will cost an utter fortune, which apparently they don't have.

Of course it's good he's gone, and I always wanted him gone and never said he shouldn't go because the alternative won't be better. But it's happened now and it's natural to look to the future. On which count, we know from experience it will be another chancer, and if it isn't they'll be ostracised and leave or be fired. -

Hope you are right. Great work so far, keep it up! I think we're seeing now aren't we that the owners don't like hitting the headlines for the wrong reasons. They seem to be more worried about that than losing millions upon millions annually.
