  1. Past hour
  2. Agreed, though Rovers' approach has basically taken any decision out of Travis' hands anyway. All of what you say is probably true, but assumes there is a decision to be made between Rovers and Wrexham as both want him. Both don't want him - Rovers have made it quite clear by their conduct that they have no interest in keeping Travis, Tronstad, Brittain etc. So there's not really a choice to be made. If Rovers don't want him then he'll have to go elsewhere.
  3. Cook left Birmingham in January
  4. I'm afraid it would be a no brainer if I were in Travis position. A young ambitious (judging by his wife's social media) newly married couple is a perfect match for a team with successive promotions, widespread positive worldwide media coverage, committed owners who are progressive and seemingly with ever improving infrastructure. If you look at it from a business/career point of view there is only 1 winner IMO, we're a club on very much a downward trajectory on all fronts, Wrexham are the opposite, as much as it pains me to admit that the famous Blackburn Rovers are a worse option than Wrexham.
  5. Ribeiro cannot be treated as a contract extension in the normal sense of the word. He came into the club in January, bizarrely on a 6 months permanent deal, and then given his good contributions to the team deservedly had that extended. It was a very strange and almost unheard of situation to join a club on a permanent 6 month contract. I've never seen such a thing before. Most normal organisations would have simply given him a multi-year deal at the point of joining, so we can't really then claim credit for 'extending' it when through our own strange approach an extension became necessary after only a few months of him being here. Therefore no senior player has had a contract extension in 18 months. Invoking a 12 month option in the club's favour is not a contract extension, it is triggering a clause in an existing deal.
  6. Bruno Ribeiro was a long time ago. Do you expect 90% in by the start of pre season?
  7. Owners with a proper plan and appoint a good CEO in Garry Cook. Venkys have different opportunities to do this and didn't.
  8. 100% agree. He didn't rate Eustace 12 months and now he is messiah to him Bruno Riberio did but you point is correct. Gestede should have been getting our key players tied down during the season.
  9. I'm interested to see what kind of contracts any new permanent signings get this window considering that the whole first team squad is out of contract in the next two years.
  10. I have no doubts that they leave contract negotiations as late as possible for 2 reasons: 1. So they can go longer paying less wages. 2. Players start having half an eye on an exit, and with less than 12 months on their contracts, they are likely to garner a reasonable amount of interest. The club can sell, gain a bit of money, shift wages off the books and avoid paying players more money. Any replacement is either an academy graduate on peanuts or a new signing earning a lot less. It's all a total circus and there is no desire to improve, just cut costs/keep them to a minimum.
  11. No wonder itโ€™s been a disaster then.
  12. Jackie DeShannon - What The World Needs Now Is Love
  13. I totally agree Dom. The Owner/CEO should run the show and people under them answer to the Owner/CEO. Simple structure is need here Owner/CEO with deputy CEO under that with a couple of directors on the board like Financial director and non-executive directors then the head of department reporting the Owner/CEO and the board. Agree? He's been doing it since he was appointed here COO.
  14. So it's a CAO they need to run a specific department not a CEO to run the whole show.
  15. Reform and Brexit voter. Why do they go abroad where they know there's even more more furreiners than at home?
  16. The request made to India for funding several months ago.
  17. Suhail under the CEO so he has someone else to blame but over CEO with all the decision making power.
  18. Eureka! I've found the answer - SALT! Oh yeah.. what was the Question? (How do we get Venkys OUT?)
  19. Today
  20. All by design. There is no interest in negotiating new deals here. A first team player hasn't signed a new contact here since December 2023. Can probably more than halve the wages of them 4 by replacing them with a couple of low cost foreign signings.
  21. Wrexham will double or treble his wages. We have left it too late to negotiate new deals. Fully expect the quartet of Tronstad, Brittain, Travis and Hyam to be sold. To be replaced by loans or older players on 1 year contracts. Venkys out
  22. And they get to vote. Just as an aside, should somebody with ulcerative colitis be eating bacon and sausages ?
  23. It's like picking up a new book and reading the last page first, we know who dunnit. Watching others getting excited at the thrills and spills of actually reading the thing is comical to us - we know the outcome. Been here many times before with Rovers and the transfer windows, it's pointless even going through the motions. The only new things are the interesting plot twists that explain WHY someone wasn't signed or WHY someone left but it's always Colonel Mustard in the Library who's behind things. 6 candidates for the crime, 3 in Pune and 3 in the boardroom, though I guess that doesnโ€™t quite work now as Professor Plum has left the building. In case you can't wait to get to the last page it ends in tears and frustration and the perpetrator gets off scot free.
