Up to Smoggyland…can Rovers return with a point or three..?

For me, nothing less than sweeping changes will now suffice. Because there is simply nothing good to have come out of the first three games. So theres absolutely nothing to lose. And nothing to gain by repeating the process with these players. Root made a ton. Archer got a 5 for and bowled at 90+ and made a 50. Stokes showed true grit, with bat and ball. All of which we expected. The bare minimum from those three. What else did we get? Wood got injured. Crawley got past 50 a couple of times. Brook hit a few sixes. Duckett and Pope collapsed. We dropped catches. All of which we expected. The series is over in eleven short days. Of which we enjoyed maybe four. Eleven days. Its pitiful. Which has far wider implications than just irritating me. The travelling English fans. The Aussie fans that bought tickets. The Aussie venues. The TV companies. Corporate and hospitality. Grass roots. Promotion of the game. Millions of pounds have been lost. Touring England teams used to have 4 x 4 day warm up games before the first test. Acclimatising to the timezones, weather, pitches, humidity, conditions, different ball. You know, like being professional! This lot are going on a 6 day bender when 2-0 down. They are slovenly and it shows. There's something badly wrong and rotten about the set up. No standards, no responsility and no accountabiliy. Failure is constantly rewarded. I'm really disappinted.

Thanks for clearing that up. It is totally unacceptable at any level of football. Who the fuck is training them at free-kicks. I would also wonder why the keeper isn't taking the kick.

He is, but that balls always going to the far post. Gueye is always going to be the target. Players often purposely stand offside initially but has Gueye stayed onside, Ohashi would have been hoping for the ball to come across.

And Ohashi is more offside than Pape!

I would venture to suggest that the manager of Spurs knows a great deal more about the qualities of his players than good 'ol Chaddy.

I do think Mengi would be good signing, young player and knows the league. Also depending on the fee its another one where he comes here, does well and we sign him on. Whilst we may well look for a centre back, if Luton want their money back on Mengi (or more), then he will be well outside of our price range, as are most things that are worth more than a half eaten mars bar these days 😉

It seems that since Ventre came in we are mixing things up on set plays (as we should too) and a variety of signals are used by the various corner takers. I My thinking on Saturday was that as Millwall posed a real threat from corners it was all hands to the pump.
