  1. Past hour
  2. Good. Get him training on Witton Park on his own to give him time to reflect on his actions.
  3. No idea if he'll be an adequate replacement for Batth or not - I suspect not in the short term - but I agree it looks like a sensible signing. Hull fans seem to be on the fence about whether selling him is a good idea or not, but they all seem to think that we've got the better end of the deal if the ยฃ500k is right.
  4. There's no way anyone is paying ยฃ100m for Adam Wharton this summer.
  5. That Miller from Hibs would be ideal, can slot in at RB and CB. I don't think we will get him unfortunately as we won't pay the fee, could maybe see another Dion Sanderson type signing on loan later in the window that could perform both roles if needs be.
  6. and Venkys couldnโ€™t get rid of him soon enough๐Ÿ˜
  7. McLoughlin is a sensible signing. Brings championship experience, leadership, and is a reliable figure at the back. A good replacement for Batth. We still need one more centre back though with two injury prone ones in Carter and Wharton. We will need a new right back and I think we'll get one in on loan at the end of the window. Don't think Ryan will be good enough to start regularly but is a good, pacy option off the bench. Montgomery, however, is someone who I think can be a regular starter in a year or so time, so it makes sense to bring in an experienced loan for a year.
  8. I agree. Just bare individual stats donโ€™t always tell a proper story in a team game. If youโ€™re a full back and your winger isnโ€™t pulling his weight defensively you may get beaten from time to time.
  9. 3 really nice kits this seasonโ€ฆ. Add in the pink from last season and I think Macron are doing good kits.
  10. So they've gone for iconic Blackburn landmarks (which deserves praise as the town's been hellbent on obliterating most of them for the past 60 years) and omitted the wonderful Conservatory in Corporation Park? I would have thought a once tall, proud and handsome symbol of the town now lying in rack and ruin just pleading for someone to end its misery after years if vandalism and neglect would fit Rovers quite well...
  11. I feel sorry for the lad. The last time I had cramp it only lasted a couple minutes. He must have a chronic case.
  12. My error. Even more laughable. ยฃ22M with add-ons.
  13. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25321923.blackburn-rovers-reignite-transfer-interest-fill-hole/ Rovers are on the lookout for a left-sided centre-back all summer. They were unable to land Steve Kapuadi from Legia Warsaw and have now turned their attentions to McLoughlin.
  14. Itโ€™s certainly more of an irrelevance for centre backs. Them and goalkeepers tend to go on the longest.
  15. Firstly, how many posters on this MB have referred to Carter's 'cramp' injury so what is unique about my post? Secondly, for the umpteenth time, I am not part of the Twatterati so stop linking me to any other poster(s) on there. It is unnecessarily annoying, boring and repetitive.
  16. I reckon thatโ€™s Pickeringโ€™s sick bucket the lad is carrying.
  17. I'd say that a Burnley fan would have struggled to make more of a mess than the existing owners, so on balance I'm pretty confident in saying that with other owners we would have been better off. Maybe still a Championship club yes, but at least one that operates like a football club should.
  18. Yeah, just look at the subs bench. A vital part of modern day football.
  19. As it stands, I don't think we will get relegated next season. I think 2 places have already gone - Hull and Sheff W. Also think Charlton will struggle and will be the third team. QPR are on a strong downward trajectory too. Lower mid table as it stands for us right now unless we add some serious attacking talent. If Trav and Tronstad both go then that could change things and push us into big relegation trouble.
  20. It absolutely could do, if they're thrown into the first team too quickly and make loads of mistakes. Then dent their confidence in the process and their careers never recover. Countless examples of that over the years.
  21. No problem at all with them training with the first team. They 'get through' when they are good enough to force their way in - either by taking advantage of a gap appearing e.g. suspension or injury, or when the manager deems them good enough. I find it interesting that this is precisely what happened with JDT and Adam Wharton - he got his opportunity when it arose during the season after impressing in the cup, seized it and never looked back. It was a natural process - he was clearly good enough and his transition into the first team was handled well by the coaching staff. This obsession however with 'creating a pathway' - the purpose of Blackburn Rovers and the nature of the Championship beast is not to 'create pathways' for youngsters - it is to win games and try to be successful AS A CLUB, not for individuals and their transfer values or so Venky stooges can be congratulated on future sales.
  22. Well we know little for sure. Its surely a safe assumption based on widely reporting bids in particular for Kapuadi.
  23. Delusional and laughable. 21 year old Montgomery last season spent time at Marine and Chorley seemingly going nowhere other than the exit door. Played very limited time in our 1st team and suddenly you think he can step into the shoes of Travis or Tronstadt!?!? If the capability for our centre midfield is the energy to run box to box then maybe our scouting focus should shift to Blackburn Harriers!
  24. You'll eat shit and like it... Pay for it even.
