With half the clubs owned by Americans and their wholly unromantic view of clubs as US sport franchise-style revenue generators it’s only a matter of time.

I've watched Barcelona every week. Rashford will take some shifting. He's been phenomenal
-
We have probably got the best strength in depth behind France
-
I was drunk when I wrote that but I still love watching England
-
I suspect that once Raphinha and Yamal are fit, Rashford will be on the bench. Bellingham will play. Rogers has had a couple of good games for England amidst some very poor form for his club but in reality he should struggle to make the squad with Bellingham, Foden and Palmer.
-
Morgan will be hard to shift too. Big call to bring Bellingham or Foden back in for him. Feel like with Rashford doing well at Barca he should come in for left wing. I think across the 25 players England might be looking at their best ever tournament squad. Certainly since 1990 when I started watching. I dont think England have ever been in a position before where they have players on the bench who are key players for major Champions League clubs like Real, Barca, Man City.

Sky could start moving games to 3am and he would defend it. -
They have massively reduced the enjoyment of either tournament by making 24 and 48 teams. With 3 teams qualifying from most groups, it removes much of the jeopardy.

They still allowed it though. Your last sentence proves the point that there is the appetite for a match to be played abroad. It will happen, it’s just a matter of time.

Everything points to a pasting really doesn't it..... Type of game we somehow win against all odds, then lose 12 in a row after it 🤣 This fixture and the ones following look grim, you'd have to say quite bizarrely/worryingly that Sheff Utd looks about the most winnable.....we won't win it mind. -
Championship Season 25-26

Made an appointment in Cleverley that clearly hadnt worked, have him more than a season and in the second half of that season, no team had worse results in the second half of the season so clearly going in the wrong direction. Sacked him understandably. Appointed someone, quickly identified he wasnt working so sacked him too. Need to work on appointments but at least they act when they wont work. Unlike us with Ismael. Takes one correct appointment and they are away. -
Does it matter if they finish above us?

Patrik Farkas has gone on loan to Prescot Cables until January. Hopefully he will get some game time in the NPL which is the lowest level we should be sending loanees to in my opinion.

2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

Wow, I really thought he'd played 2 or 3 times that much. Maybe we have judged him a bit too quickly, given he actually looked fairly decent in his first game or two. Older players have been crap for far longer than that before coming good. -
Euros Play the Nations League as Euro qualifying. Top 24 qualify for finals - all group A teams and top two teams in group B’s - no games against outclassed opponents. Nations League becomes more meaningful. It stops running Nations League and Euro qualifiers at the same time. World Cup European Qualifying split into 16 groups of 4 teams, seeded on Nations League divisions. Each group contains a team from league A, B, C and D. Winner qualifies. Only 6 games played per group. 2 games played in November. 4 games played in June. - less internationals overall but a mini tournament feel about June. Less outclassed games ✅ Slightly less international breaks ✅ Nations League made more important ✅

JDT by the sounds of his post. Imagine seeing everything that has happened here in the past few years and still thinking that JDT was the problem. -

You say 'people still will' with such authority. I know of Rovers fans who, before this came in, who would go to a local game during international breaks. Now they just watch them on tv. Having shown them before is irrelevant, my point still applies. -
I wouldn't, I am not the slightest bit interested in international football.. It is the pits!
-
So how are we supposed to qualify if we stop mid-season qualifiers? Play them in June? I'm sure you'll be one of the people waving England flags cheering on next summer
-
I'd rather watch England than watch rovers play pitifully against second rate teams

If they didn't want to then they wouldn't have done it.

Who said he thinks he is so smart? -
You would be very naive if you think that the Premier League's attitude would be that they already generate enough money. Greed will take over. Other leagues are setting a precedent and global fans will no longer be satisfied with second strings playing friendlies. Eventually English games will be played abroad. Its a depressing likelihood. The only question is when.

They didn't want to. Plus the PL is the biggest league in the world and the richest aswell. They go to different countries in pre season and have fan fares in USA Just look at TV deals for PL coverage compare to other leagues. Sky and TNT paid £6.7bn for domestic rights. International TV rights is similar amount. The PL is a global brand when has other top leagues aren't. https://www.premierleague.com/en/media/broadcasters
