  2. When is an impediment not an impediment ? When is no impediment actually an impediment ? For answers contact Mr S Waggot, Ewood Park, Blackburn.
  3. There's certainly some mixed views around the net on the woman's team. Some are very much ,I don't watch them, they lose money and no ones interested in womens football. Some are just very 1950 Others see this as another piece of the foundations being destroyed and are fearful if its the women's team today then what is it tomorrow, next week , next year etc. My own stance is, when I joined the coalition I did so as our club is heading completely in the wrong direction and the lack of accountability is astounding. I can watch and accept this or I can try and be part of something to try and push for positive change. There will be many subjects, issues which I and everyone else will have stronger or weaker opinions on, but I made the choice to be part of unified approach. The women's team has touched the panel at all different trigger points, however to say nothing is accepting what will be will be. I fully support the coalitions panel in their actions this week in talking to staff and players who this has affected and publicly condemning the unprofessional way this has been handled by the club. When representing the AG in meetings, many times I've put across points strongly to the club which may not mirror my own thoughts, however when I chose to form the AG I gave up my own personal views to act in the best interest of the membership at all times. I appreciate the Woman's team in isolation doesn't strike a chord with all, but I try and always look at things holistically and the symbol a decision like this has on future behaviours, actions by those at the club and the owners. The club is doing a fantastic job of writing their own bad press and in this instance they've impacted many lives and dreams with zero empathy or regard.
  4. Whoever was going to buy the club, would want a deep dive into the accounts and also the history of when the current owners bought it and what went on. This in my view is the biggest reason for them not selling, as I suspect they are scared of what that would uncover. Again, this is my opinion, but I suspect if they saw who is on the payroll and what they are doing to justify their wage, then it would give them some real explaining to do. For what it's worth, if someone came in with funds to invest and had a properly structured plan and they really got to the bottom of where the £20m really goes, they could find a way of keeping things relatively lean and probably give us a chance of returning to the premier league. Lets face it, we have had every little financial backing for the last 2 years and a bit, yet nearly made the play offs in 2 out of the last 3 seasons. if the new owners know how to read send instead of save and get a loan over the line on deadline day, without falling foul of missing deadlines by a couple of minutes, that could be all it takes.
  5. Tell her there is loads of Claret at 1 euro per glass full.
  6. The bulk of it will have although no doubt further instalments are due. Didn't the accounts get signed off because there was enough guaranteed income for about 12 months ? It also said large owner support would be required to keep trading beyond that ! There's goin to have to be a player or two sold pretty soon i'd wager.
  7. That figure has risen by £10m in the last couple of months alone.

  9. Is this the bit where "we can't compete" with what Derby are offering (ignoring our billionaire ownership and the fact they are skint and were in admin a few years ago, and we'd go the same way as them if Venkys ever left)?
  10. It's not so much who he's gone in for, it's more that he's started looking at the Rovers squad and trying to tempt some to Derby. 4 of our key players are out of contract in 12months and Eustace knows he'll be able to get them for a pittance because we're a financial wreck. I like Weimann but age and injuries are against him for sure. Be happy for him to sign up for another season if he proves his fitness. Not world ending stuff if he goes to Derby though
  11. If you are going to lie might as well go high especially when half the fanbase will swallow it whole.
  12. Eustace will be in for a few of our players I'd imagine, he'll know 100% how desperate to sell swag is and how low the wages he offers are.
  13. I agree, he had it between the ears but his legs were struggling by the end before his injury. I'd wager money after a big injury that he'll struggle to replicate last seasons return.
  14. I see the loss is now £30m a year. Just keeps climbing.
  15. He's 34 this summer. Dealt with a fair number of injuries and isn't really the best fit for the current system. I'm sure he's nice to have around the squad and he's a useful impact sub, but I wouldn't be that sad to see him walk. I'd rather be out one year too early than one year too late when it comes to players approaching their mid-30s.
  16. If they continue to be in charge for another 5 years, we will be in the National League making the numbers up. Personally, I think they will be gone in 18 months, blind optimism possibly. They are coming to the attention of mainstream newsagencies.. The spotlight will be shining to brightly for them, I can only live in hope.
  17. What's the plan if they walked? Put ticket prices up. Introduce a match-day buying tax. Cut a number of long-serving staff. Get rid of things like the women's team. Make the first team squad made up of a a majority of youth players, loans and freebies. Cut any fan-friendly services which cost us money, like match day programmes and Radio Rovers. Sell half of Brockhall for land. Reduce travel expenditure like flying. Cut back on non-essential ground maintenance. After that, we will see how much of an annual loss we actually need to fund. Oh, hang on a minute......
  18. I agree. The WATR statements do come across as "meek" and somewhat like a jilted lover telling their friends about how their cruel and bullying ex doesn't talk to them anymore, whilst pleading with the same ex for better communication and respect in their 'relationship', rather than just calling out the ex for the insufferable shit they are. It feels a bit sad to read and definitely doesn't seem to carry any impact, whatsoever. But I might be missing it so I'm genuinely happy to hear what people think the statements are achieving.
  19. The Venky’s can’t just “walk” - they own the club so are liable for any losses until they agree sell to a willing buyer who’ll then be responsible for said losses and a plan to run the club better. What we don’t want is absent ownership content to cover the losses by asset stripping, whilst the value of the club slides further into the abyss and fan numbers continue to drop off a cliff. The fans only job is to highlight the nonsense, state the facts & failings of the last 15 years and support the team on the pitch.
  20. Once they walk then a new owner comes along. Many, many, many owners have given up owning clubs and funding losses and have passed it over to someone else to take it on. League One Reading managed it only last week. The fans don't need a plan on that front. It isn't a job for the fans to concentrate on. All we can do is hope the new owners are better than this lot (highly likely). No club has ceased to exist because an outgoing owner hasn't found a replacement.
  21. Genuine question... If the protests / banners / letters / video messages actually worked and the Venky's walked - what's the plan to cover the annual £20-£30m loss? Genuine question, is there an actual plan? Do the Supporter Groups have an alternative owner lined up, or is it just a case of accepting whatever?
  22. https://www.roverstrust.com/news/statement-blackburn-rovers-women "We had been in dialogue with club executives about the future of our Women’s team as per our memorandum of understanding, but were only given 10 minutes notice prior to the announcement." We call upon the Board and Owners of Blackburn Rovers to think again and have serious discussions with ourselves as to how the Club (Men’s and Women’s teams) have a viable and competitive future.’ Honestly lads, I'm a WATR member but they clearly don't want to have the relationship with you that you want them to have. You can call on them to have serious discussions time after time but they won't. They see minimal discussion with you as a box-ticking and appeasement exercise, to be shown as an example of engagement. This quote from the Rovers website reflect the whole approach of this regime to the club over the last few years. There surely comes a day when you have to draw a line. Join the coalition.
  23. How do I convince my Burnley supporting wife that we should have a 'random' trip to Alicante then!
