  1. Past hour
  2. Brittain has. Hopefully we start talks with Tronstad and Travis when they back for pre season. So you would offer Batth a 2 year contract at his age? How many clubs offer 34 years old a two contract who turns 35 in September? Think 1 year contract with an option of an extra year if he starts so many games seems more sensible?
  3. Sorry, It probably is worth mentioning what you have, as plenty do not realise that the hearings regarding, funds, Venky’s are choosing to go to court, to try to get the impediments removed. ED are investigating them for a serious offense, the ultimate penalty, for which is jail. That is a totally different issue, yet some think they are the same thing.
  4. How will anyone sign new contracts? They haven't been offered them. The club hasn't even started to talk to them. We aren't even capable of sorting Batth and Weimann out, also Hedges. 2 years ago we missed out on Batth because we wouldn't give him a 2 year deal. He went to Norwich for a year, then came here on a 1 year deal, and now despite his efforts last year we are looking like losing him again because someone else is offering longer. Just totally ridiculous.
  5. You quoted my post as I hid it 😁 (decided wasn’t worth going over old ground). I’m hoping they’re found guilty and don’t pay the penalty. I hope that as if they don’t pay it a prison sentence comes into play.
  6. Plenty seem to be missing that point. They are accused of fraud, by the equivalent of HMRC in India and yes, it gives me hope, that it could spell serious trouble for them.
  7. I’m not getting excited, just reading a few things that give me some hope. Whether it’s unfounded or not, remains to be seen. Its fair to say that the owners have certainly been economical with the truth and possibly down right fraudulent, but whether they gets their just deserts or not, only time will tell.
  8. travis and sonny will be looking for 4/5 year deals at their age,if we continue to let them run their deal down it gives the impression we don`t value them, you can`t treat senior pro`s like this and expect them to risk injury and a possible six months out if it`s a bad one with no certainty of their future
  9. I think Brittain and Tronstad will sign new contracts. Travis will have offers but I this one is 50/50, if Sheffield United come in for him, I think he will go, if a Wrexham I don't see it happening. They will throw big money at ex PL players like Ings, Cresswell. Both who they been linked with. Hopefully Batth re-sign here. Still expect Nade will happen. Still need players will experience at this level but also need pace and athleticism in our team.
  10. I know you're getting very excited about the possibility the Indian Court will throw the book at Venky's but if anything the investigation against them seems to be tapering off not gaining teeth. The efforts of the ED to prevent funds being transferred have been over-ruled twice and the bond has been reduced from 100% to 50%. Not much to suggest anything other than the current state of affairs and after that their ownership dragging on fairly interminably.
  11. I think this is stage 2. 18 months ago we were offering contracts. They were to players we knew would leave or deals that were representative of their true market value, but we were at least holding talks and putting a contract on the table. I believe Broughton on that front. Now we are openly avoiding negotiations. In Travis and Tronstad we have two players who have publicly stated that they would like to stay and that they've yet to hear anything. That's insane. Does their willingness to stay guarantee a deal? No. But it does mean that talks should have been held.
  12. Fantastic. Such quality.
  13. I have attached part of an article from an Indian publication, as that indicates, that they did not declare the real reason for the equity infusion into Venkys of London. If it’s 3 x the total amount, it’s game over, surely.
  14. Probably! There’s a limit for how long you have to lodge an appeal but I don’t think there was one for it being heard (I’ve opened a bottle of wine since reading it 😁😁). I don’t know the answer re the blocker, sorry.
  15. It would but I think it would only cover ‘dodgy’ funds. Lets hope they’ve found plenty.
  16. Today
  17. Cheers. I assume an appeal process would be at absolute piss taking levels of time, so this would likely drag on for years? If they appeal it, would that still keep the blocker in place for funding the club? Or would that be removed regardless?
  18. Funds transferred to buy the property are around £7m but what if it’s all funds transferred since 2011. Now that would be fun.
  19. There’s a treaty between the UK and India which covers this. Still needs a UK court order but the UK judge would consider the said treaty in coming to their decision.
  20. Up to 3x just relates to the funds transferred. Seizing the property (or sale proceeds) is on top of this. I assume the judge would have to justify adding the latter for there to be any chance of the court in England issuing the necessary order.
  21. This thread is truly depressing. I've never known such disillusionment so early in a transfer window. Can't see any hope for optimism at all. Think Brittain and Travis already out of the door with Tronstad and Hyam scampering after them. Will be staggered if we avoid relegation this season.
  22. there must have been someone going round every ground in the country that summer, there are loads of these on the net, from parkhead to plainmoor (torquay),fantastic imo
  23. Brings back memories. Particularly nice to see the Darwen End roof before it's 'refurbishment' in 1982, courtesy of the six-fingered roofers.
  24. very apt for our upcoming belgain "superstar"😁
