  1. Past hour
  2. The usual pattern. You say early doors that we need x players in by pre season. You genuinely believe that each summer will be different. You then slowly go through each of the same reasons and excuses when that doesnt happen. You highlight other teams that havent done business. You ask which players that have gone elsewhere would have actually been good signings here. You say that Premier League teams are still evaluating their players. You say we shouldnt rush and its all about the quality, and to judge at the end of the window.
  3. How many fans based on buying ST based on who we sign in the transfer market? Do you?
  4. When the Venkys first went to court the reason for wanting the money sending was set out as the below: No mention of potential job losses, detriment to the team etc - purely ‘we’d lose all our money and people will think we’re useless’ - I find that very telling. Well, funnily enough (dickheads) you’re not getting your money back and people know you’re a bunch of incompetent buffoons. In summary, fuck off Venkys.
  5. I took it from this https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25130385.blackburns-pre-season-dates-explained-transfer-target/ that it meant by the Spanish training camp. I misinterpreted what was reported
  6. He's said that from day one. The reason Chaddy etc are trying to make out that it meant by the pre season camp is because the know there's absolutely no chance of this happening.
  7. Stuart Parker is a good shout. I don't think it's Comstive.
  8. Today
  9. We all now how this will end ! 3rd manager in a row to walk , probably before Christmas !
  10. I'm presuming or should i say praying that the request for money for running costs is so the club can use some incoming instalment money to invest in a few players instead of all that going on wages etc. Otherwise we are up the creek signings wise.
  11. According to this article, the manager wants 90% of his squad in place by pre- season in 3 weeks, not other dates being suggested by some posters on here. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25218452.blackburn-must-avoid-transfer-pitfall-three-examples/
  12. As far as I can tell, the owners haven't put money in for a significant period of time. ST targets won't be met. No matchday revenue. So where is any money for transfers coming from? Unless there's a Wharton sell on windfall at some stage, there isn't any. As others have said, we can't get contract extensions done with our better players. For the sake of a few thousand extra on the wage bill, we will no doubt lose 20 times that in transfer fees - when they leave for cheaper fees or free. Penny pinching with no foresight at all. I imagine we will pick up some out of contract random player from the Luxembourg league and a freebie 17 yr old kid loan by the start of pre season. Then it will be the late August scramble if we have managed to sell 2 or 3 by then. Happy 150 Rovers. You can't run a club like this. Fifteen years FFS .
  13. Biggest shit show , will be this coming season , I cannot see any other outcome .
  14. Too late for Mick Wood , I think it is Stuart Parker (mix up on row ) or possibly Paul Comstive.
  15. I do, in fact, agree with much of what you two are saying. I try to stick up for Scottish Football rather than continually snipe away at it. The ‘cheeky digs’ are, and have been, flying both ways as well. I’ve highlighted the above, not because I can’t handle being called a ‘plastic’ supporter, but because you don’t understand the history behind Celtic and its support and, therefore, that term is incorrect. Something that I have explained previously but you either can’t, or don’t want to, acknowledge. The ‘affiliation with’ bit is key. The vast majority of Celtic’s support is of Irish heritage and Catholic. First, second, third, fourth generation, it doesn’t matter. Irish who were forced out of Ireland (partly due to the famine) emigrated all over the world but thousands settled in Glasgow and other areas of Scotland. The club was founded by an Irish Marist Brother and the Irish immigrants in Glasgow and beyond rallied round the club and that continues to this day, irrespective of where you live. It’s a big thing supporting Celtic if you’re of Irish stock. It’s unique. Let’s be clear here. I’ve supported my local club since 1966 and was a season ticket holder for over 40 years on the trot. Partly because of Venky’s, partly due to where I now live, means I’ve little appetite for attending games, other than the one or two that I do make each season. Let’s leave it there.
  16. The club puts stories out to encourage fans to buy season tickets and stay invested. The likes of Jackson and Nixon peddle them to the fan base and some people lap it up. Nothing new. Of course we will bring new players in, but if there's a significant fee or other comparable interested parties we will lose out and not get them. I'd be surprised if any of the main players sign a new contract. If we can't get Baath and Weimann back in it tells it's own story. Reading between the lines with the player liaison lass that got let go, that was the final straw between some players and the clubs chiefs. Unless the recruitment team can pull some absolute gems out, next season is stagnation and the season after could be one of the biggest shitshows we've seen yet under Venkys.
  17. I think he probably got it wrong, as he was thinking of something that you can trod in, that then stick to the bottom of your shoe.
  18. Who is going to win the SPL next season ? They could probably have the presentation during the winter break.
  19. Hehe I really loved this kit when It came out lol
  20. The whole basis of Venkys' argument seeking permission from the authorities in India to send money to Rovers via their holding company is that without this money Rovers goes into administration and the tax man and wages / suppliers are unpaid. A judge will be sympathetic to that. They will not want to be the person responsible for a business failing and all the fall out that comes with it. They can see that money is required. Totally different story to wanting to spend non-essential sums on a few new players because we fancy signing someone. Nobody can reasonably argue that this is essential expenditure. So those thinking that we are spending a few million this summer whilst all this is going on perhaps need to sit down and have more of a think about the financial crisis these owners have put us into due to their investigation in India. A crisis that has been running now for several years yet they've done nothing to resolve e.g. by selling/giving the club to someone who has the ability to fund it. Any money being paid out for players will have to be found from the club's own resources - either a portion of funds brought in from sales/sponsorship/receipts, perhaps borrowing or even some crafty working with the instalments.
  21. That is one target that they will have hit.
  22. So what ? Is there no phase two, did they not intend to sell anymore.
