  1. Past hour
  2. What's the difference between Bucko and Trav? Bucko leaves in style with a goodbye video
  3. Jackson's article today suggests that a midfielder is being chased but that a striker is far from a guarantee. Surely those priorities should be swapped.
  4. What about Dolan? I know you arent a fan and I think have been massively unfair on him. But in terms of style, surely you agree that his high energy profile suits Ismael down to the ground? And surely you acknowledge that his form improved when Ismael came in. Totally get why signing these exotic players are exciting and I appreciate that much of your post is satirical. But obviously it goes without saying that it is not a case that many of these players are being "left behind" with Ismael wanting them gone because the boys club vibe is no more and theyve not been able to keep up. Theyve left because we cant get them to stay on the peanuts that are offered. They leave gigantic holes. Tronstad and Travis very much did stand a chance from a footballing sense, they arent the T1000S that need to move on, its a hell of an assumption that Tavares and Baradji will just wave them on as they come in as superior models to take us forward, again jokes appreciated. One comes from being in and out in a mid table Portugese league team and one was relegated in Switzerland, there is reason for optimism with both but I suspect if we had all 4, then the latter 2 would be the ones providing competition and learning from the T2000s, who actually contrary to the above are very much the real deal.
  5. Curtis Mayfield - ( Don’t Worry ) If There’s A Hell Below We’re All Going To Go.
  6. Saw his interview last night, which was nice. Its obviously a big life change for him leaving the club which is all he has known. I did get the impression listening to him, he's not entirely sure what he wants and wasn't exactly full of emotion or passion. I think he had some decent technique but lacks the sort of personality to become a very good player. Not much fight about him.
  7. Two totally different scenarios. I think Trav would've been happy enough to stay and play out his deal, but Rovers gave him an ultimatum. I thank him for his services, not his biggest fan, but he's had some really good spells for us and been a good leader in a turbulent time at the club. Wish him all the best, as long as his team ends up below us in the table.
  8. I went to the Bradford cup game, Henriksson was one of the worst players I've seen in a Rovers shirt. Literally couldn't control a ball, kept bouncing off his knees and shins. He also looked like he was running in treacle. Hadn't his season already started so he's had a full pre season and arguable further on in fitness than our players? Looked an absolute shocker to be honest. Hopefully it was nerves and confidence thing but I'm not sure. De Neve looked like another Hedges, runs around a lot but lost the ball repeatedly. Then scored a tidy finish. Hard to judge until he plays more but he looked more mobile than Henriksson. Thats the risk with buying loads of foreign unknowns. Some may adapt quickly, some adapt slowly and some are just shite.
  9. Today by all accounts media etc has been done and they had a match last night
  10. In the same manner that I want Newcastle to force Isak to stay if Liverpool don't pay what Newcastle wants and in any case let him rot on the bench, I want the same from Rovers when it comes to Trav. Putting himself in such a position being the team captain is not okey.
  11. not yet, expected to be today There were rumours about Wrexham offering him more, but apparently that is not the case
  12. Has Travis to Derby actually been confirmed? It seems to be dragging on?
  13. We have what looks like a very competitive squad now (who I think willv play this season): GK: Toth, MIchalski - Maybe weak here RB: Alebiosu, Miller, Montgomery CB: Hyam, Mclouglin, Carter, Wharton LB: Ribeiro, De Neve, Pickering CDM/CM: Tronny, Tavares, Baradji, Montgomery, Forshaw AM: Cantwell, Henriksson, Tyjon Wingers ish: Hedges, Kargbo, Miro ST: Gueye, Ohashi
  14. If we were in a similar situation to Sheffield Wednesday I think most would have sympathy. While we as fans know we are being run into the ground, to the wider football world all they see is us paying everyone on time every month, meeting hmrc requirements, selling players for profit but also spending a bit of money on replacing them. Technically, they can aren't doing anything wrong.
  15. Gestede's influence is a bit of an enigma. His communication hasn't been great and I believe he's not particularly well liked around Ewood. However, he does seem to target some potentially interesting signings. Ultimately, he'll get judged on those by the fan base.
  16. Sad to see Buckley leave us but, in terms of his career, he needs to move away. I've always thought that he was a more than decent midfield player, one who had an eye for a pass in the final third. Sadly, I think only Tony Mowbray was actually able to integrate him into the team and get the best out of him. He's lost his way over the past few seasons and a fresh start will hopefully kick-start his career again. Like Dolan, I wish nothing but the best for the lad.
  17. I appreciate that’s how you see it. But I genuinely don’t think that’s how they’ve sold this to him. I think, they genuinely believe that they can use / manipulate these esc slots to find diamonds in the rough, for less money and that they can do well in the Championship, sell them for multiple and effectively fund the club, thus reducing the financial burden on their bosses. They think they’re clever. To be fair there’s been a few reports suggesting they are using these Esc slots better than most. Only time will tell…
  18. Where is the video of the meet up with Baradji? Need to see hit. I have learned from past mistakes and will never get a player on my shirt anymore - was so close to having Travis this summer. Glad I didn't! But Miro without kicking the ball would be the one.
  19. I agree 100% Colt. I had so high hopes and loved him play with his Swagger style. For me one episode made a major downturn in his situation and that was away at Boro in 2022. He had played himself into JDTs team and suited JDTs style very well. He then got a stupid red card by throwing the ball at a Boro player and got sent off. Very harsh by the referee. But after this Bucko never returned to his best. Very sad.
  20. Morishita is golden! Did you see in the video when he met Baradji and realised they had stayed in the same hotel? 😂 I think Ismael is all about togetherness as well, but thinks he instills more dicipline and demands more in training than Eustace. We will see if that means more tired legs/injuries and some players on the fringe who become unhappy like under JDT, or if him and his team can keep the group together. I wouldn't mind an out and out winger to play on the right still, but most wanted at the moment is a striker so Leonard can leave. A central midfielder to replace Buckley and Trav and whoever else leaves has to be replaced like for like. I think re-signing Forshaw is a mistake and he will retire or leave in January, but we will see - hopefully he's not on big wages.
  21. It’s not the quality of job he’s doing that bothers me. It’s the persistent stench of Kean and Kentaro 16 years later.
  22. 100% - I’ve heard the same about Pasha. Bit of an egotistical knobhead. However, I’m always wary about judging based on the opinions of those who have been rocked out of their safety boat. Ultimately, this regime will be judged, as have the others on their successes and failures. If we end up in a relegation battle, then Pasha and Rudy are clueless, if by some miracle these foreign diamonds in the rough begin to twinkle and we get promoted to the promise land on a reduced budget then Rudy will be lauded and likely enjoy a very lucrative future in Football leadership. I was chatting to a mate earlier in the gym and weirdly I’m excited to see how the team performs. So many unknowns, that you wouldn’t be surprised if we were fighting relegation, or for the playoffs.
  23. Garett is probably a League 2 player, but won't be as bad as Tomlinson. Tomlinson had massive attitude and off-pitch issues and responsible for his own downfall despite obvious ability to have a career as professional footballer. Nothing to suggest that Garrett is similar. I saw another poster refer to him as athletic, he is not. He started out as a defender but lack of pace and strength meant he was moved into midfield which he is much more suited for. His strength is being on the ball, good passer and worked well for the U21 as a holding midfielder. His lack of pace and intensity/strength is not covered up by some wild crunching tackles.
  24. The one thing I have been a bit concerned about is the "family feeling" disappearing. Longstanding, nice guys from our academy such as Bucko, Trav, Leonard and maybe Pears all leaving the club in window. What fills me with hope is that the characters brought in gives a warm feeling around the place; Yuki is already a legend, Ribeiro is very underrated, Henriksson has a great character, Toth really is a huge step up and I already love Miro. You have the cultural bearers such as Tronny, Hyam spiced up with Academy graduates; S. Wharton, Montgomery, Mullarkey-Matthews, Tyjon, Michalski ++ The combination of the squad really is ARTE ET LABORE It's been like this before. I was devastated when my favorite players Bentley went to Spurs and Roque went to City. It's a part of the game! Whenever a door closes, another one opens! Make yourself a Rovers legend!
  25. Nicely put. But, I still think a simpler explanation is that Ismael was told that he needed to get rid of players we could get a fee for and replace them with players that cost and earn less.
