Well said, almost 7/8ths of the game played, rovers have a strong case for being awarded the points. -

I don't think either team gets to 'make a case', I think it's all done behind closed doors by some bureaucrats at the EFL. IMO I think they'll be in there for about 5 minutes.. "The game was called off for rain" "What do we usually do when that happens?" "We always make them replay the full game" "Okay, we'll do that then" -

Almost 80 minutes on the clock, that's almost 7/8ths of the game played. I think Rovers should be awarded the points. -

I agree. Although rules do change, I recall the Luton game, referred to earlier, Faz was one booking away from a suspension he was booked and had to serve the ban. The rearranged game was after the point when the number of bookings was raised before triggering a suspension. -

The drainage problems were sorted out in the early prem days. The pitch was fantastic and the drainage was excellent. It has been allowed to deteriorate over the past few years by lack of proper maintenance. -

Does anyone have any confidence that the club (without a CEO…) will put forward a stronger case than Ipswich for the result to stand. Ipswich will likely already have got a lawyer involved and a strong argument put together. Match will be replayed. -

It hasn't yet been announced, but I'm 99.9% sure that all original tickets will be valid for the replayed fixture. -

He outmuscled the Rochdale players with ease in the National League Cup. I'll be amazed if he isn't called up to the England youth team soon, looks an incredible talent to me.

The only way a Rovers player would have been injured, is by an Ipswich player, who were over aggressive when rovers got the ball. What was the Ipswich card tally, 4 or 5 yellows and a red. -

This would be intentional as the pitch is only as playable as the worst part of it -

I have already mentioned player safety which will have been paramount in the referees decision. And anybody with a modicum of sense would agree with this. -

The bottom line is the club need to address the infrastructure as soon as possible (maybe this summer?). Our pitch drains into a river. Many football grounds are near rivers, but the majority are probably not. What does everyone else do? Why is our pitch drainage worse than every other ground in the top two tiers of England? Maybe something that fans could demand is investigated at the next fans forum, or wherever we're allowed to speak to our crank overlords. -

The ref knew the forecast and should have postponed before KO or abandoned at HT when it was 0-0 and 11v11. He made a misjudgement that the pitch would be okay to complete the match and it wasn’t. He represents the EFL so they are not completely devoid of any blame here. Of course when the pitch became waterlogged he was left in a difficult situation and probably had to make the call he did. The ONLY fair conclusion would be to play out the last 10 plus injury time with 11v10. You can never fully match the conditions of the day but this would be far more realistic than restating the whole match 11v11. Clearly just awarding us the 3pts would be very unfair on the opposition….lets be honest, it would be very Rovers to concede one (or 2) in the dying stages against 10 men! -

Blackburn and Ipswich could have to replay their Championship match in full after it was abandoned in the 80th minute. Blackburn were 1-0 up, with Ipswich down to 10 men when the referee temporarily suspended the match due to heavy rain. After a short delay, the match was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch. Sky Sports News understands that any decision on the replay or awarding of the results is down to the EFL. However, Jacob Greaves' red card will stand, no matter the EFL's decision. In a statement to Sky Sports News, the EFL said: "This afternoon’s Sky Bet Championship fixture between Blackburn Rovers and Ipswich Town was abandoned due to an unplayable surface. "The decision was taken in agreement with both managers. The Board will consider what action is to be taken as a result of the abandonment, in-line with EFL Regulations." According to FA Rule 20 (E) (iii), the EFL will decide if the match is replayed in full and the league's management committee is "empowered to order the score at the time of an abandonment to stand". EFL regulation 34.2 states that if a match "falls short of 90 minutes’, it may be ordered to count as a completed fixture or be replayed in full or in part on whatever terms and conditions the board" decides. Blackburn said on social media that a decision will be taken by the EFL board in "due course". "The game has been abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch. Full details will be communicated," Ipswich said. -

I see a lot of mentions of us not being able to drain into the river when it is full being the main reason for us not being able to cope with heavy downpours. Does anyone have a photo of the river at 16:30 today as I would have expected it to be at record low levels a week ago? I know there has been a lot of rain since but I still wouldn’t expect it to have been ready to burst at 16:30 -
