Hannah Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Today is just getting better and better! Was beginning to wonder if it was the curse of the rabbit - what with him being called Roque Bentley-Hughes (although previously Robbie BentleyHughes) but if Warnock is about to bugger off as well then its nothing to do with the naming of my rabbit. Just wish it would all be sorted and we can move on. Does Hughes really have to go if nothing comes out of these talks? I would love him to stay. Redknapp has done it and sure others have as well. I have applied for jobs before and not got them and its not like I then have to leave my current employment. Why is this any different?

Because it is in the public domain and has he handed in a virtual "transfer request" all for a matter of an extra million a season.
Hannah Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 We should ask Manchester United for permission to speak to Sir Alex Ferguson. Then tell him he's a red-faced moaning ***.....!!!!! At first that made me laugh a lot but then it got me thinking. Everyone else in the premier league seems to think its acceptable to rock our boat by unsettling our players and managers, lets turn it around! Lets start asking for permission to speak to all the managers in the league, starting putting random bids in for top players. Problem is no one will take us seriously, problem is no one would let us rock their boat. It really sucks at times being a small town club!
imy9 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 There are a number of top managers that are currently available. Personally I would like to see a foreign manager come in and take us forward. I want to see attractive football and a top 10 finish next year. Potential candidates? Bilic- wonderful job with Croatia. Sven- why not? Deschamps- great job with Juve and Monaco. Bothroyd- Excellent, young manager. Lets be honest when Hughes leaves he will take at least two players with him, I think Bentley and Santa Cruz- we can only hope for £25-30 million for both and then that gives the new manager £40 million

I recall almost wetting myself through laughing.
Bobby G Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Hughes isnt leaving us for a salary increase. At Man City, as long as Thaksin invests, he can really make a case for breaking into the top 4. At any club with money and the right manager, you really could make a case of it... We had the right manager but no money.
cn174 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Sven- why not? Is about to become manager of Mexico by all accounts
thenodrog Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Problem is no one will take us seriously, problem is no one would let us rock their boat. It really sucks at times being a small town club! And it always will......... This will keep happening to us and our kids and their kids. There really is only one solution! And you all know I'm right too.
roversmum Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Any plumber news? Sadly, no. Mr R is in charge of household repairs and replacements and so far is not stumping up the cash. He doesn't have to try and do the washing up whilst getting sprayed by a leaky tap though Thinking of withdrawing my labour etc. Besides, there are other more important issues to address at the moment necessitating my presence at the computer..... I don't like wishing my time away but I shall be so glad when this Manager thing is all sorted. I know I said the close season would be interesting but I didn't want it to be this interesting.
Hasta Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 And it always will......... This will keep happening to us and our kids and their kids. There really is only one solution! And you all know I'm right too. Dream on Theno

And you all know I'm right too. I would like to apologise to you all for giving thenodrog the chance to bring this up again!!! No matter how much it sucks I wouldn't want to change Rovers for the world!
Blue n White Rover Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 There really is only one solution! Am I the oly one who does'nt know what this solution is?
thenodrog Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Dream on Theno Au contraire hatsa. I am the reallist on here. You lot thinking that BRFC will continue indefinitely at footballs top table are the dreamers.
HATRIX Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 If players want to leave i.e warnock then obviously theres nothing we can do about it ,a new manager will come in JW is a very good business man as most people on here already know .I believe he will make an excellent appointment ,one that is going to benefit the club on the football pitch and financially i.e attracting new backers that believe they have the right tools for the job.One sad thought is how uncle jack would feel right about now knowing all this turmoil is happening at his beloved club.Someone somewhere along the line needs to pull there finger out and fast
den Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Getting near the time when Nicko drops a few hints about tomorrow's newspaper headlines!
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 And it always will......... This will keep happening to us and our kids and their kids. There really is only one solution! And you all know I'm right too. PLEASE dont add to today's madness theno chap.

Like us fans i'm sure this whole saga has been a shock to the players. I think most of the players will want to see what happens and who we may bring in before making a proper judgement.
den Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 den im confused! why has the other thread been locked and weve been told to discuss it on the "hughes " thread ?but its allowed on here its all very confusing really Abbey, the "no to fatsam" thread will/is becoming another "next manager" thread. Make your feelings about BFS on there, - we haven't got rid of this manager yet, we don't need two on the next one.
alexanders Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I don't think Warnock is definately saying he wants to leave. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Warnock state that he wanted Hughes to stay? That's only the same things as 99% of the fans.
thenodrog Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I don't think Warnock is definately saying he wants to leave. No but he will! A few England caps and they are off as fast as their legs'll carry em.

Make your feelings about BFS on there, - we haven't got rid of this manager yet, we don't need two on the next one. Can we have a poll on the manger thread then please? just to highlight the lack of support for Big Sam? Hopefully someone from the club might hear about it.
