Amo Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I'm actually quite shocked. I thought they would let Sam see out of his contract, at least. I guess with January coming up they want a new man in place for the transfer window. This next appointment is going to be crucial.
True Blue & White Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 OMG http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10303~2243513,00.html
The Rover of Finland Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 The owners are not football people. I really liked Sam and think he did great job.
Wild Irish Rover Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Absolutely astounded. What a complete farce. Disgraceful timing and a portent of looming uncertainty, instability and potential disaster. Shocking, shocking stuff. IMO you DON'T sack someone for doing a great job. That just smacks of desperation and unrealistic expectations. Unless there is a very very coherent strategy in place to replace Sam with someone with greater capability, then this is nothing short of a disaster for our club. Yet another fookin PR cock-up from our Indian custodians.. absolutely nailed on as opens mouth to change feet once again. It will take something equally jaw-dropping (but in a positive sense) to redress this one. Come on Venkys - time to show your hand...
martmitch Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 wtf! weve all had our issues with sam but really... no way I dont think anyone was expecting this, thought we had just found a decent setup for the team this year aswell Must be the bain of big sams life, having a club on decent ground, new owners coming in and booting him out
Esulx Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I am properly shocked by this. Probably on the same lines as King Kenny going upstairs. Who comes in? Jol? Hughton?
frosty Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 What the clumsy, hit shift + 8 again!!? (poor swear filter). Can't honestly believe it.
BRFCBOY Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 cannot believe it ................ tony parkes blue and white army
DannyKeg Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I'm sorry to hear this. He kept us up and did his best with limited resources.
Spansterkid Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Kentaro Rovers In comes poodle Jol. The beginnings of what some of us feared all along???? Kentaro are far more tied up in this deal than has been let known so far.
Andy Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Awful news. I know it'll please the minority of our fans, in the anti-Sam brigade, but for our club this is bad news. I can only hope that a big name is coming in to replace him...
cesus Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Is this going to be the first of many Venky's decisions to tarnish our fantastic name!?!
cn_barlow Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 From what Nicko was saying on the transfers threat about them thinking big with transfers, this isnt the biggest suprise. I'm expecting a big foreign name here.... Cue Alan Curbishley.
Roost Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Friggin ell!! Obviously didnt fancy letting him have the choice of players come January.............
CrazyIvan Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 What a ridiculous decision. They have a hell of a job on their hands now. They have to get a manager who is going to A unite the fans, B continue doing what Big Sam was doing and improve the team. I'm actually shocked and horrified at what has just happened. Big Sam may not be the most likeable manager and one who polarised opinion but he is still an excellent manager and was doing an superb job on no money. The first time he gets the chance to spend some, he's gone!!!
philipl Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Sam told them what to do with being dictated to by Jerome Anderson. Rovers are doomed now.
blue/white Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 awful news. Seems evil. Sam has had to put up w/ many windows scraping by w/o significant additions to the squard sheet & now when there appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel he gets 'whacked' by the chicken folks. gobsmacked, really. *shakes head* this is not good.... even worse after spending the past two weeks laughing at the Geordies........ Thanks for everything Sam, best of luck to you, man.
B.R.F.C Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 West Ham West Brom Stoke Sunderland A crucial run of fixtures that will shape our season and a point where we need stability in the club. So what do we go and do? Sack our bloody manager. This could end up being a horrible horrible decision at the worst time possible. I never thought I'd say it but I feel incredibly sorry for Sam Allardyce...he has been totally shafted here.
Lurid Coat Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Absolutely appalling decision, unless this is part of a level-headed long term strategy, in which the owners hope to have our team play slightly more attractive - yet successful - football. I fear this was done so that Kentaro/Venky's can get their own puppet in, though.
John Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Thanks for your work here Sam - intially, you picked us up and saved us when we were on our knees. 10th place last season with a terrific end to the season was also fantastic.
