Majiball
Good point. To play teams like Barca and Lazio costs the club a hell of a lot of cash. Not sure how much - does anyone actually know? To play Hibs would be beneficial to both clubs, good match practice and probably cost the club nothing in hosting. They're not a bad club - held both Rangers and Celtic at the end of the season and personally would rather be plaing them than the likes of Chievo a few seasons back. How many attended the Barca game, I drove all the way from Exeter for it!!! Playing hibs will do, we can have a ganders at Fletcher!!

ihateburnley
Not many people appreciated it at the time but we had such a good team then. Duff, Dunn, Jansen, Cole, Yorke, and Tugay were all extremely capable footballers. In terms of technical ability I would say that side was probably better than the Champions in 1995, although it lacked the solidarity, work rate and, of course, Alan Shearer. I wonder what would have been if we hadn't signed a turkey in Grabbi, and Jansen hadn't fell off his scooter? If we had upgraded on Flitcroft for a more powerful midfielder, found a left back, and held onto Duff and Berg we would have been a really tremendous side with a shot at CL qualification. What could have been! We had also just been promoted from the old Division One. To be fair, Cole and Yorke hadn't joined the club at that stage either and it was prior to Grabbi's first game for the club and Jansen's accident! We did have a chance to have a fair crack at the Prem in our first year back but I take your point about the quality of some of those players. saxo1man30
Rovers have been handed a setback in their pre-season preparations after their tour to Madeira fell through. in friendlies the opponants don`t matter that much really i suppose, last season we played really well in that benfica tournament and won the whole thing under ince don`t forget. that was a false dawn. http://www.skysports.com/football/match_report/0,19764,11065_3011842,00.html

Tris
Will be a weak Rovers team as well - the whole point of the Hibs game at Ewood being on Weds 5th is because BFS doesn't want any of the players who will be away on international duty the following midweek (11th/12th) to be playing on Saturday 8th. sambo
For Leeds, Wednesday and Dundee United away, will the club lay on coach travel?
Lee
Almost certainly for Leeds and Sheffield. As for Dundee United, the Scottish club have got very much ahead of themselves by announcing this. It is far from confirmed at this time of writing. (but is now)
Ozz
There are some photos of the first day back in training on the Official Rovers website, including this one of Reid, and Zurab too-Reid looks pretty fit and ready for the off!
Amo
I don't think Reid's abs and pecs were ever in question. It's whether those knees can hold out.

Fife Rover
How many attended the Barca game, I drove all the way from Exeter for it!!! Playing hibs will do, we can have a ganders at Fletcher!! I came down for that match with two of my grandsons. We had a great weekend in Blackpool and came over for the match on the Sunday. Only thing that spoilt it was getting soaked sitting in the non-covered seats on the Riverside. Great game though, and the boys enjoyed it. Just one thing still niggles at me though.......Barca were awarded a penalty for nothing that I could see. Can anyone explain why it was given?
