JAL Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 The Salgado bit of that story wound me up no end. "Salgado enjoying life at Ewood Park" I bet he is, sat there earning 40kp.w. for doing the square root of bugger all! Sheesh! I would have expected that story to read: "I have found real difficulty in coming to terms with the pace and physicality of the English game, and I apologise to the manager and the fans that they haven't seen the best of me but I have been making a real effort to get myself fitter and hope to show everyone what I am really capable of in the second half of the season and the rest of my time here." That must be one of the most upbeat, positive stories to have come out of Ewood from a player in along while Rev. After witnessing Chimbondas defensive performances over the christamas period, i'd think Salgado NOW has a very good chance of starting in his favoured right back position. Can we really blame the owners if, the players budget has a completly skewed look at about it at this moment in time.

broadsword Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Rotschilds are not trying hard enough anyway, to find us a buyer. They should be scouring the Ronald Reagan Home for the Terminally Insane, there's bound to be a rovers-mad zillionaire in there somewhere.
roverblue Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Joe Ledley, yes please! as others have stated though we would need to get a sweet deal from Cardiff considering our money woes
Ricky Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 The only thing that might make them sell is the winding up order hanong over their head.
Brfcrule1 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Ricky said: Cardiff are in financial difficulty, do you really think they'd match his wages or he'd even be interested in dropping down a league.. Reality check needed!!!! Hi all, please don't tell me we are paying big wages for this steamping pile of cr@p good god what has become of our club it sounds like an earlier article when the move to Olympiacos failed because he did not fancy it someone needs to get through to Pederson he has been absolute s***e for years now it should be down to us where he goes because for the money he gets for doing precisely nothing he is getting away with daylight robbery
nicko Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 There won't be an 11 o'clocker tonight...but the Mirror website might be worth a look. A player about to be signed [no street parties need be arranged]. And some tales of players of interest. A lot of Bolton stuff, funnlily enough.
Backroom Tom Posted January 10, 2010 Backroom Posted January 10, 2010 Doesn't sound too promising but I will be pleased if it's Linganzi or young french/portugese lad
Kelbo Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Anyone watch football Saturday yesterday, all the pundits, all top ex pros extolling the virtues of Kevin Davies, have got to say I do agree with them, if we had him here we would have won three more games at least!! However, I cant see Coyle selling him!! Next best option?
donis1410 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 what about stoke being linked with Van Horseboy?
nicko Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 what about stoke being linked with Van Horseboy? Very odd, but tbey have money. I suspect that story was leaked and confirmed to scare their real number one target into giving them an answer.
donis1410 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 and who is that.....David VILLA lol!!! no seriously who?
Kelbo Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 We can speculate forever on who we may sign but like so many clubs in the prem now, money is tight, even at Man U and Liverpool, we will have to wheel and deal if we do business and I think thats what Sam will do!! Its only a short 'Window' so we will know pretty soon whats happening!!
donis1410 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 yeah soon the wait will be over......shame we missed out on kranjar for that bargain price in the last one
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 yeah soon the wait will be over......shame we missed out on kranjar for that bargain price in the last one We wouldnt have got him for that. Pompey and Spurs made loads of deals together, one of which was Krancjar to Spurs for £2m or whatever it was. The fact that Pompey then immediately received Boateng/O'Hara/Kaboul etc shouldnt be forgotten
1864roverite Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Alan very impressed with the Coyle/Burnley love story in todays paper, its just a pity that the idiots of Burnley wont understand a single word of what Coyle says.
yorkyclaret Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 When stuck between a rock and a hard place the old wide eyes and quivering lip ploy is often good for damage limitation.
joey_big_nose Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 When stuck between a rock and a hard place the old wide eyes and quivering lip ploy is often good for damage limitation. Chin up lad. I doubt there has been a dry eye at the Turf recently. A lot of quivering lips, and a fair amount of tantrums of course. But you'll come through it, just pull yourself together and I am sure relegation won't be too bitter a pill in the context of really how awful the last 25 years have been for you lot generally. Broadly speaking you could look at the last two weeks as a high point in the future as at least there is some hope now, sure to be crushingly extinguished in the months and years to come. Enjoy it while you can, that is what I say.

Fylde Coast Fan Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Former-Monaco-midfielder-Camel-Meriem-set-to-join-Blackburn-until-end-of-the-season-article283641.html Meriem to sign on a short term deal, wants to fight for a longer run. Sounds promising - low risk for us, player up for it.
Muddboy Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Nicko's piece in the Mirror It's Meriem again. Hopefully this one will go through. Let's hope he can stay fit and bring us a bit of class. Very sensible only offering him a deal until the end of the season, definitely puts the pressure on him to perform. Good luck Camel, lad!
S15 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Sam was determined to get himself a Camel one way or another wasn't he?
beerwins Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Any signing in midifled works for me, looking forward to seeing this guy, im sure the names of santa cruz or samba didnt exactly keep people awake at night when we first signed them, the fact that he had a trial got injured and came back yet again to try and prove his worth shows he has some fight at very least.
hi-jaq Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Any signing in midifled works for me, looking forward to seeing this guy, im sure the names of santa cruz or samba didnt exactly keep people awake at night when we first signed them, the fact that he had a trial got injured and came back yet again to try and prove his worth shows he has some fight at very least. Good shout... From what I've read on the web, he seems like a half decent player... here's to hoping he turns out to be a gem!!! By the way, I don't think Santa Cruz is a good example of an unknown, or un-exciting signing. I was having sleepless nights when I found out we were going to sign him. When he joined Beyern, he was tipped to be the next "worldclass" South American striker, unfortunately for him things never worked out there, but he was a massive signing for me when we got him, I totally agree about Chris Samba though!!!
Backroom Tom Posted January 10, 2010 Backroom Posted January 10, 2010 Was hoping for one of the younger lads but hey he can't do worse than Andrews. Could turn out to be another vogel though.
