rebelmswar Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Pedersen are injured, not dropped. Arm strain is it?

G Somerset Rover Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Happy with that line up. I would have perhaps had Hoilett in for Reid with Emo in the middle, but all in all no Andrews, MGP, Roberts or Diouf (three being enforced) so I'm happy. Now for the performance...
Bobby G Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Only gripe would be Junior not in there, but a lot of people have been on and one about Olsson in the PL on the wing. This is his opportunity. Could be a new signing if it works out.
RoyRover Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I like the look of our line up today. We can't say that Sam isn't being positive. I hope that Olsson, Benni, Reid and Kalinic have good games. I think that we can win this one.
nellybc Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 i will take it all back if he does but where does that mean that benni will play up front?? Hardly been up top where he has played this season and i dont doubt today he will be back collecting the ball in the middle of the park. For this to work today he has to be close to kalinic and not nzonzi. Can still only still see 451. Maybe im just fed up and will be proved wrong.
deftangel Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Interesting line up. I would like to see Di Santo and Niko start a game but seeing as Benni might be a longer term prospect than Di Santo in real terms (as he'll back to Chelsea next year) this is partnership to work on. I'm hoping Benni Mac justifies his selection today.
rebelmswar Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Brilliant Very pleased Robbo Chim Nelsen Samba Givet Emo Reid Nzonzi Ollsson McC Kalinic Think someone said this earlier but McDouble may be playing Dunns possition. Still think this is a good line up, only thing that could be better would be Bert on the RB and Junior on the wing. Feel Nzonzi will benifit from playing with Reid. Expect Dempsey to bully Ollson. All in all a good line up. Up to the players to play 100%.
DeadlyDirk Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 All in all I don't think we can complain too much about how the team looks like lining up. (Assuming it's not some odd 4-5-1 with Benni at left back or something.) There may be a few cases where we would have played Player X instead of Player Y but overall we have the 4-4-2 with Kalinic getting a league start with a striker partner, Olsson's getting the game he's deserved, Andrews is overlooked again and has Somerset Rover mentioned albeit enforced at least there's no Pedersen, Roberts or Diouf today. The only real surprise for me today is Reid but that's more because of a lack of action, everyone else has had a go so why not. Maybe Sam is listening finally to someone, it will be interesting to see how we respond today. On a side note, personally I'm beginning to think Sam has got a little confused by our shirt, I think we play in the white one half like Bolton and Chelsea in the blue the next
modes98 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Arm strain is it? Neck Strain I think. Looked up too quickly when Robbo booted the ball over his head!
American Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 My only complaint with the lineup was Chimbonda being kept and Lars dropped. But seeing that Lars is injured, I guess I have no complaints!
begresko Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Expect Dempsey to bully Ollson. Why? Wont Dempsey be up top?
rebelmswar Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Why? Wont Dempsey be up top? He falls back to midfield all the time, I saw him used in that capacity(scaring and putting pressure on young ones) many times prior to Fulham and he excels at it.
67splitscreen Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Glad to see Kalinic getting the shout, here's hoping there is no woodwork to stop him today.
Messi422 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Hope duff is playing on the left. Givet is slow, i afraid he can't defend Duff.
Daremz Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Shame Chimbonda plays. And shame Dunn does not. 1-1, max.
Mr. E Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Still wanted to see Di Santo and Kalinic upfront, but yes, this is a bit better.
philipl Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Personnel is a big improvement but I bet he's playing 4-5-1 with Benni in the Dunn position
bigbrandjohn Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Personnel is a big improvement but I bet he's playing 4-5-1 with Benni in the Dunn position Even if it's 442 Benni will be playing behind Kalinic as he trys to catch up
G Somerset Rover Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Very quiet game so far with neither side offering much.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Olsson had a good burst down the left side earlier and cross just over Niko's head. Not many chances so far, missing a killer ball in the final third.
BPF Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Very scrappy thus far. Enjoying that we are trying to play it around but still a large number of hit and hope balls to nowhere.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Nobody really running with the ball either. Emerton can run with the ball as can Reidy, but neither have really made any decent forward runs yet. Great shot Benni!, ooh good save. Samba!!!!!! 1-0
