Brilliant win by Inter. They just dominated the game from start to finish, and Milito was clinical when it counted. Not at all impressed with Pandev - he is a good player but a disgrace. Schweinsteiger needed to do much more for Bayern, and they looked much less sharp when Altintop went off.

Sorry, why is Zanetti missing the World Cup again?

And Cambiasso (sp), stupid decisions by Diego to drop then.

Argies have a fantastic team though - one to watch surely?!

They do indeed, just look at the forwards (Aguerro, Messi, Milito, Tevez and Higuain), the problem that they have is that Diego Maradonna is all over the place tactically.

Yep add to that the likes of Mascherano in the middle, and possibly the best keeper in the world....aswell as some very good defenders!

Like you say Just the problem of the manager....if they click however they could be devastating!

There was only going to be one winner. Mourinho has a talented bunch of players very well drilled. It wasn't a spectacular game but it was good to watch. Van Buyten got found out.

You can't really argue aout Inter being the best team in Europe as they knocked out both the champions of England and Spain on the way, then beat the German champs in the final.

Inter aren't the best team in Europe, but that doesn't mean that they don't deserve the cup. The best team doesn't always win a knock-out competition, particularly one in which away goals is a factor (sorry, but in the modern era the rule is simply nonsense), but Inter knocked out some good teams, as did Bayern, and they deserved to be where they were.

I'm slightly confused by Inter being made out to be something of underdogs, not for the final itself, but having this victory described as being somewhat Porto-esque. They spend tons of money and are still one of the largest sides in Europe (that's why the player who scored both of their goals tonight cost €25 million last summer). Nice win for them, a bit surprising, but really no more surprising than Liverpool or AC Milan winning it in recent seasons.

"plenty of beer, sausages and efficiency from the Germans in Madrid." - Richard Keys, Sky Sports.

Good old fashioned casual Racism.

Racism? How? Richard Keys and the Germans that he is stereotyping are the same bloody race ffs!!! White caucasian! :wstu:

Sad to see that three other intellectual derelicts on here have given you 3 ticks for that. <_< I shudder to think what you had written before you edited it.

Spot on about the away goals Eddie! The rule is obsolete and promotes defensive football as well as it makes for strange prerequisites. I'm surprised it hasn't been under any kind of debate in the (relatively) strong winds of change that are blowing in football right now.

Lots of people don't like this post and I agree. It's called national stereotyping... Nothing racist about it and most Germans would happily agree and laugh about it. I know, I work with a lot of Germans and have spent a fair amount of time there. They'd be proud of it in fact.

Erm they beat the champions of the 3 other strongest leagues in europe. Im failing to see how they arn't the best.

It is just Eddie's reluctance to admit he was wrong about Mourinho

Now one of only three IN HISTORY to win it with two different clubs
