Exiled_Rover
Jones reminds me of a headless chicken at times when he plays centre mid. It's definitely not his natural position.

Backroom Tom Posted December 12, 2010 Backroom Share Posted December 12, 2010 Bit aimless from us so far certainly an element of hoofball. Not a complaint would take an ugly 0-0 today
Exiled_Rover
We're definitely the second best team on the pitch. Bolton look far more dangerous with the ball.
HemelRover
Is it just me or does Roberts looked panicked whenever the ball finds its way to him?

slough_rover
It's definitely not his natural position. I don't see how playing there is developing his game. If he had played the whole season at centre half he probably would have had an England cap by now.

If he had played the whole season at centre half he probably would have had an England cap by now. I think the argument is that it'll make him a more well rounded player. To me it's just a case of Allardyce trying to get our best players on the pitch - square pegs into round holes.

HemelRover
As i see the 45,000 long throw in by Gamst over the last 2 season, a question pops into my mind. Has Samba actually ever won the first header from one of these "percentage" long throws?

Exiled_Rover
Where are our goals coming from? Set pieces? We don't look threatening at all. Bah! Pedersen is back to floating in his set pieces. Stop it, Gamst!

Rover Down Under
Clattenburg been generous to Rovers (Jones) and Bolton (Knight) with yellow cards that others might have given red for. ooohhh...Givet miscued badly there.

Has Samba actually ever won the first header from one of these "percentage" long throws? I think we have scored 1 league goal from a long throw and maybe a few against lower league opposition in the cups?(I remember one against Norwich this season). Very frustrating as they obviously don't work, yet we keep trying them. For someone that his into his statistics surely Sam can see it's flogging a dead horse?
