Bobby G Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I am getting sick of commenting on certain things as its clear as daylight for everyone with an ounce of rationality to judge the whole situation.

John Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 We are dealing with a very strange owners so it really puts this debate up in the air - should we expecting an odd appointment if/when it happens, probably! As I've said countless times before, there are a lot of very average manager out there - interesting to see a couple of the so called front runners, Jol/Shearer, have ruled themselves out already! They probably are not kean on being yes men and probably also think even spending just £5 million will still see us relegated anyway....
chaddyrovers Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 In the News of the World, it says that John Collins is in running for Rovers job. He was at Fulham as a player when SK was coach there. here is his record as manager http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Collins_(footballer)
John Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Didn't Collins have a mutiny, from the players, when he was manager at Hibs? Likes to play the game in the beautiful way though which is all that matters! ps - who manages him?
Amo Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Didn't Collins have a mutiny, from the players, when he was manager at Hibs? Likes to play the game in the beautiful way though which is all that matters! ps - who manages him? On 20 December 2007, Collins resigned from Hibernian with immediate effect, citing a disagreement with the Hibs board about the budget to bring in new players. Sounds like Venky material.
Darwen Rover Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Owen Coyle will have next to nothing to spend moving forward with Bolton... He would be my first choice and i think if we could convince him there is more potential at Rovers (current players + budget) then I think he would be the man for us!
Bobby G Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Coyle wouldnt move now. Hasnt nicko categorically said that Coyle wouldnt work with Kentaro's influence above his head? (or any influence). Well we need to find someone who will accept those terms!
Majiball Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Hasnt nicko categorically said that Coyle wouldnt work with Kentaro's influence above his head? (or any influence). Well we need to find someone who will accept those terms! Good luck with that. A director football is one thing and agent doing it another.
92er Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Wait So Sam should have had a job for life at Rovers? No. The surprise was the timing of the sacking, especially as his contract treminated in the summer.
Steve Moss Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Didn't Collins have a mutiny, from the players, when he was manager at Hibs? Likes to play the game in the beautiful way though which is all that matters! ps - who manages him? References the dispute: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/h/hibernian/6549669.stm Dispute resolved: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/h/hibernian/6560587.stm I like his comments. He seems no nonsense. Anyone have a feel as to whether he could do better than Kean and/or Sam?
chaddyrovers Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 The current sky bet odds for manager job http://www.skybet.com/betting/football/manager-specials/t10002896.html
Steve Moss Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Hiddink 9/2? If only! I would take back half the bad thoughts I've directed toward Venkys. Hiddink would be class, but likely expensive.
RoverRich Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 That link is for the next permanent Man City manager! I don't think Mourinho would be 8/1 for the Rovers job...
67splitscreen Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Time for bed chaddy. It's been a long day.
Bobby G Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I cant see an established manager with a half-decent reputation touching this job. Potentially people who have been out of a job for a while may look at this as a way back though.
neekoy Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I can't wait for Dave Jones FFS, another Kentaro client... Seriously WTF is the PL doing about this ######? The "trust" are a disgrace, Uncle Jack would be doing 360's in his grave.
imy9 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Has Dave Jones become manager? Oh right it's paper talk... continue bashing the owners...
AggyBlue Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Seriously WTF is the PL doing about this ######? They'll be glad to see the back of us
McClarky Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 On 20 December 2007, Collins resigned from Hibernian with immediate effect, citing a disagreement with the Hibs board about the budget to bring in new players. Sounds like Venky material. He used to show the players his 6 pack and demand that they get as fit as him. They got sick of it after a bit and all fell out with him. Most arrogant man in football but they did play good football and won a trophy while he was there which is a rarity I can tell you.
nicko Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I can't wait for Dave Jones FFS, another Kentaro client... Jones isn't coming and I don't think he is a Kentaro client.
John Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Just a hunch but reckon we might make an approach for Sven.
Roost Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Jones isn't coming and I don't think he is a Kentaro client. Well, thank ---- for that!
