JW11 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 He was on loan at Rangers last season, and Bolton before that I seem to remember, I also thought he looked decent. No doubt City will want rid! Alledgedly being offered to Udinese as part of city's bid for Sanchez

Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 16, 2011 Moderation Lead Posted June 16, 2011 I'm surprised Kean isn't chasing Larsson. I would have thought the Swede would have fitted perfectly into the long-ball direct game that Kean was playing at the end of last season. He is also second only to Pedersen in the PL in terms of ability to hit dangerous free kicks and corners. Would be a good long-term replacement for Pedersen when the maestro perhaps calls it a day in a few years' time. Might be sooner than you think Jim- http://tinyurl.com/5wwptu5
davulsukur Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Pedersens corners are woeful, 90% of the time they dont beat the first man. His free kicks can be decent, but he hasn't been consistant enough over the last few seasons. Charlie Adam probably hits a better free kick.

booth Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Only on this site do we have people turning their noses up at strikers of the calibre of Adebayor, I know it won’t happen, but come on its Blackburn not Barcelona, earth to Jim, earth to Jim A striker that scores goals!? At Blackburn Rovers!? How very dare they! Who would we have to complain about then?
benhben Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Surely we should be looking at Reo-Coker. Obvious we need a couple of centre mids, him on a free and Jermanine Jones would do nicely, would leave plenty over for a forward and centre back. You can guarantee though, well only realise we could do with him, after 10 different clubs have made an offer, and well lose out. As usual.
MarkBRFC Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 A striker that scores goals!? At Blackburn Rovers!? How very dare they! Who would we have to complain about then? Keith Andrews?
booth Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Keith Andrews? I was talking exclusively about strikers. We don't want none of them un's that can score, we'll be cheering and everything.

I'm sure it would still come back to Keith somehow. I agree with the poster who mentions Reo-Coker, on a free that would be a good signing. 2 out of him, Jones & N'zonzi for the midfield births next season would be more than adequate.
LeftWinger Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Roverdale, not that I'm against going for wickham but I have to take issue with your comment about him bagging a fair number of goals. 13 in 65 games doesn't seem like that great a return. Were you against us signing Alan Shearer? His league record at Southampton: 87/88 Played 5 Scored 3 88/89 Played 10 Scored 0 89/90 Played 26 Scored 3 90/91 Played 36 Scored 4 91/92 Played 41 Scored 13 Not exactly a great return either.
BangkokRover Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Whats Vladimir Weiss up to these days? Still at man city? looked decent not so long ago. Seems to have dropped off the radar totally Was playing for Rangers but I think he made some statement that he wanted to fight for his place at City this year.

I agree, I think NRC would be a good addition to our side on a Free, especially if we don`t end up getting JJ - I have always liked him to be honest, certainly no worse than what we have got, in terms of Grella, Julie Andrews, Goulon...............
PAFELL Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Only on this site do we have people turning their noses up at strikers of the calibre of Adebayor, I know it won’t happen, but come on its Blackburn not Barcelona, earth to Jim, earth to Jim It would be good for Rovers to sign Adebayor and Bentley. Olsson one side, Bentley the other!!!!!!! Oh well back to work, dream time over with.
MarkBRFC71 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Pedersen is second to a lot of people for his dead ball ability. Spot on, but don't feed the troll. Jim's fantasy is a team of 11 Pedersens, managed by Allardyce - which says everything you need to know about his knowledge of football.
herbergeehh Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Has Benjani left, I thought we were giving him that year's extension? Don't trust the Daily Mail much, but I might have missed out on the news... Hargreaves and Woodgate on a free... Woodgate is totally off anyone's list now, although you wonder what could have been. Class defender. Hargreaves on the cheap, though, I say yes please. He's been injured a lot at Manure, but there must be a way back. If we can have Vince Grella in our team, surely we can replace him with Hargreaves? I'd certainly be interested to know what demands Hargreaves will have, and where he would want to go.. e.g. would he be interested in a pay-as-you-play sort of deal to stay in the Premiership? Interesting to see Giles Barnes being released - not lived up to his reputation, has he? In addition, Jason Banton's Liverpool adventure didn't last too long either... McFadden, Reo-Coker, Mark Randall, Tom Cruise and Matthew Upson would all at one point be positive signings, although injuries is a common denominator for all of them... I still want us to sign Seb Larsson, I think he'd make a good addition to the team.
Roverdale Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Back to dreamworld if everyone doesn't mind? Samuel Eto'o
Amo Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Spot on, but don't feed the troll. Jim's fantasy is a team of 11 Pedersens, managed by Allardyce - which says everything you need to know about his knowledge of football. It's funny 'cos you didn't make that up.
OJRovers Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Thing is if the chicken dippers are seriuos about cl and top 5 finishes .Or even what's been PROMIsED ..a tip 8 and a cup WIN then adebayor is the sort of player/money/wages they need .If not then they are just full of it. You're not up to date! Kean said this week that the target is top 10 next year. (this has gone from 'top 4' when he first joined, to 'top 6', to 'top 8' to now 'top 10'....the man is learning.)
AJW Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I like NRC as a player and as a free he's even better , however if we do sign JJ i'd like us to try for midfielder who can actually put his foot on the ball and pass it someone like a Darron Gibson or Tom Huddlestone
BangkokRover Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Back to dreamworld if everyone doesn't mind? Samuel Eto'o I hate to think how much he will want for wages.
A cup of beans Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 last week sometime... i heard spanish football journo graham hunter say that barca would def sign sanchez and that Ibrahim Afellay would be sold for around 10-12m. theyll be a massive queue for him, but he'd be a real coup for us... yes im dreaming but... get in there 1st ?

I know it's quite early still and not many clubs have done much and the European window doesn't officially open for a few weeks and all the other stuff people will churn out, but am I the only one who is by now bored with all the speculation with not even the hint of a signing? I just want a little hint of something that will almost certainly happen even if it's not the most exciting signing. News of Hoillet signing a new contract would be great and keep me going for another few weeks. With no real matches to watch - the U21s having failed to excite me so far - I need a fix!
