BuckyRover Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 He could well be the best English right winger around. One of the best end products I've ever seen.. It's a tragedy what happened to the lad. (Although it's 100% his own fault) Thought you were talking about Glen Little

speeeeeeedie Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 He could well be the best English right winger around. One of the best end products I've ever seen.. It's a tragedy what happened to the lad. (Although it's 100% his own fault) Agree. He had a ability, much like Beckham, to be able to put in a great cross without beating a man. He was also great at getting free kicks as his feet were very quick. Someone on here had a free kick he scored (Newcastle at home?) as their avatar/signature for a while. The curve was Roberto Carlos like.
LeChuck Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 He could well be the best English right winger around. One of the best end products I've ever seen.. It's a tragedy what happened to the lad. (Although it's 100% his own fault) I don't blame him at all for leaving. A successful and ambitious Tottenham team (based where he was born) approached him at a time that we had just appointed Paul Ince as manager. It's a no brainer really. It hasn't worked out with hindsight, but at the time it was the right decision for him to take - he had to have a go at taking his career to next level. Spurs can be a graveyard for players, but they can also be a stepping stone to the top level (Bale, Modric, Walker, Lennon to a lesser extent). The one thing that had always threatened to hold him back was his lack of pace. That was excusable whilst his delivery was superb. To maintain that standard was always going to be an incredibly tough task though, and once that slipped a little his weaknesses became exposed. I don't think his time at Birmingham helped considering they tried playing him on the left wing most of the time.
joey_big_nose Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Spurs reject XI in the last four years only. --------------------------------------Gomes(8m) -----Hutton(10m)-----Corluka(8m)------Bassong(8m)---Kaboul (8m) Bentley (15m)----Palacios (12m)------KP Boatang(4.5m)----Dos Santos (5m) --------------------Pavlychenko (15m)---Bent(16.5)m) Subs:- Woodgate 8m, Pascal Chimbonda(4.5m), Kranjaer 2.5m, Gilberto 2m, Gunter 3m TOTAL:- £130 million I really admire Spurs economy….. While you can say some of these players were sold on, or will be sold on, for substantial amounts the overall loss must be huge.
rovers1993 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 If you've seen Kaboul lately or for the past season and half, you will realize that he is one of the best CB's in the league and improving weekly... Kevin-prince boateng was too young at spurs and they had no patient with him, look at him at Milan now... completely raped arsenal's back four tonight. Corluka is still quality and performing well for Leverkusen. The rest I completely agree with you there.
BuckyRover Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 It could be worse. We could be Arsenal fans. Poor sods...
A cup of beans Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 staggering over-reaction from wigan! FLARES

Bent clearly is very good, as is Boatang etc. They have a habit of wasting talented players. I stand corrected on Kaboul - I thought he was a reject (indeed he was when he was sold to Pompey back in 2008) but has played a lot recently.

chaddyrovers Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Curbishley has turned down the Wolves Job! Warnock has gone to Leeds. Is Bruce in line for Wolves or will they go for younger manager like Lee Clark or overseas manager like Sven??? could Paul Ince make a return to Wovles as manager???

Wonder who our next assistant manager will be?
Amo Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Sorry Gumboots nothing to do with Clarke, Topman said I was trolling on a Kean thread...about Kean, yet on a 'other pl thread' he brings up Kean and Venkys...again, thought it ironic You obviously have no idea what trolling means then.
Audax Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Curbishley has turned down the Wolves Job! Haven't seen this in the news though I am not disputing what you say. I think Curbs would be the man for the Wolves.
chaddyrovers Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Haven't seen this in the news though I am not disputing what you say. I think Curbs would be the man for the Wolves. was said on GSS on Sky Sports news today. plus also said on BBC radio west midlands today
imy9 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 You obviously have no idea what trolling means then. It also means posting off topic Topman, which posting about Venkys and Kean on every thread kinda is lol

imy9 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Um, no it doesn't? In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum.
Amo Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum. Trolling is when someone's deliberately posting to get a rise out of people. Just as you did with your pro-Kean stance. Making a throwaway jibe at Venky's expense isn't, unless I was trying to rile all the Venky fans on this site? All... six of 'em?

Umm, I am not Pro Kean( he lost my support after Fulham LAST season) but am capable of making balanced points irrespective of my personal point of view about the man. Making random throwaway remarks on threads that are not even mentioning Kean or Venkys is troll like e.g posts about Lee Clark and you bring up Kean and Venkys lol... My definition of troll is the correct one lol.

There is nothing balanced about defending our abortion of a manager. And that's what you were doing. You really had no point to make, and certainly not one anyone cared for. I was making the point that Huddersfield sacking Lee Clark because they feared another club would poach him is the kind of retarded logic that Venky's would probably apply. Get over it. My definition of troll is the correct one lol. Okay, champ.

Try reading the posts again, I am pleased to see that you are speaking on behalf of the MB in informing me that no one cared for the points that I was making, I was having a healthy debate with a few people- you could always try that? Read the last paragraph again to yourself, you are turning every conversation on threads back to Venkys again, may I suggest you get over them? Champ the definition of a troll is clear, there is no need to be obtuse.

First i've heard of this, great news Curbs turned the job down, he was their big chance of staying up imo. Looks like it going to be Bruce for manager and i reckon he'll make a proper balls up of it. Paul Ince would be hilarious but it will never happen.
Mattyblue Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I'm amazed Bruce is still in line for PL jobs. Just look at Sunderland since he left..
Audax Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Steve Bruce had a miserable run with Sunderland at the end but they still did fairly well in Defence but Yes, Bruce, Rafa who I have seen mentioned as well, you would definitely have big doubts about. That said, sometimes managers deserve a 2nd chance but Bruce is not an attractive candidate. When they lost Darren Bent, Sunderland had problems scoring.
Waggy76 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I'm amazed Bruce is still in line for PL jobs. Just look at Sunderland since he left.. He got the players there ok , but couldn;t get them to play ...Or was playing the wrong system , personally I would swap him for our clown this minute ..It will be interesting , lack of talent at Wolves like Rovers but they have more aggression and he could harness that short term ..As it looks like a done deal , will Black follow him down the M6 ?? If he does , that speaks volumes for Kean 4 assistants in a season , that most be some kind of football record ? ? Maybe I am jumping the gun , just poss that no one will want to be the 4th !!!
