True Blue & White Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 He's got a great build. Looks good holding up that Rovers shirt.

roversfanben Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 CryerRovers Andrew Cryer btw Rovers are definitely after another striker. Had that from Venkys This day just gets better and better =)
Stuart Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Wow. You really are something else, you aren't you?
imy9 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Good signing- again Ben- 4 year deal has been signed by Goodwillie. Just a quick question- I thought Niko HAD to be sold before any cash signing took place according to Roverinsider? His info seems more bogus every passing day.
roversfanben Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Good signing- again Ben- 4 year deal has been signed by Goodwillie. Just a quick question- I thought Niko HAD to be sold before any cash signing took place according to Roverinsider? His info seems more bogus every passing day. The problem with roverinsider is that he posts different things about the same subject day in and day out. Take Goodwillie for example "He is not going Rovers" one day, to "He is joining Rovers the next" or my personal favourite "one source says Kean to be sacked" "this other source says Kean won't be sacked" talk about covering all the bases! If an elephant ###### on a pile of ants, he's bound to hit one of them, and that is what insider is like in my mind. His info is good, Glen said as much and I trust Glen, but like Kean and Venky's, he needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut or rather, his fingers off the keyboard.
Ossydave Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Only downside is the really bad willy and cock jokes we'll have to endure, a great signing for me.
True Blue & White Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Only downside is the really bad willy and cock jokes we'll have to endure, a great signing for me. Can't wait to see him go up against John Terry or "Goodwillie vs Bad Willy" as it'll be known.
Backroom Tom Posted August 3, 2011 Backroom Posted August 3, 2011 Welcome aboard David, optimistic about this signing, he can't flop more than Kalinic so there's something. Good time to make his debut on Saturday as well, can play up there then sort his stuff Sunday before heading back down.
imy9 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Just seen his interview on Rovers World. Comes across as a down to earth person who will be a fans favourite. Describes himself as 'lively' on the pitch and someone who tries his best all the time.
old darwen blue Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 To The Sweet song: David Giodwillie will score goals You can't push Goodwillie round cos he won't go Try telling everybody but oh no David Goodwillie will score goals No?

braddock Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 that goodwillie is a cracking player, will score us 25 goals this season easily, we will finish in the top 10 with him, no problem (this is for the people who say i am always negative) The only thing more negative than you is the number at the bottom right of your posts.
Hekla Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 He says he is excited by the owners and looking forward to playing under them!

No I dont think so, see above for their level
tony gale's mic Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 He is quite highly rated north of the border, and if he's being signed as a squad player I'd be reasonably happy with it. I just hope he's not being signed as our main striker though - much less than a goal every two games in his best SPL season doesn't translate to many goals in the PL. I think he could be a decent addition, but unless he suddenly ups his game (unlikely but not impossible I guess) he's definitely not the answer to our problems.
LeftWinger Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I just hope he's not being signed as our main striker though - much less than a goal every two games in his best SPL season doesn't translate to many goals in the PL. What was Shearer's goal to game ratio before he joined us?
tony gale's mic Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 What was Shearer's goal to game ratio before he joined us? Yeah. Totally comparable considering Shearer was playing in the same division, whereas Goodwillie is going from an SPL which is considerably weaker than the Premier League at the time of Shearer, and moving to a Premier League much stronger than at the time of Shearer. Christ. I've got a minus 5 already for saying he'll probably be a decent squad player but it's not that likely he'll be a leading striker. Hardly a negative opinion, just a realistic one. This forum is well and truly filled with cretins. Or being more generous maybe there's just five who were all reading my post at the same time.
LeftWinger Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Yeah. Totally comparable considering Shearer was playing in the same division, whereas Goodwillie is going from an SPL which is considerably weaker than the Premier League at the time of Shearer, and moving to a Premier League much stronger than at the time of Shearer. Christ. Shearer had a very poor goals to games ratio when he joined us - did that mean not many Premier League goals?

But I thought the people on here gave you a good transient, yet longish lasting, feeling?

tony gale's mic Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Shearer had a very poor goals to games ratio when he joined us - did that mean not many Premier League goals? I've already explained why that's a very different scenario. Read the post again.
