philipl Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 This is my deduction from everything I have heard. Kean has now got himself Spurs, Newcastle and Norwich to save his Managerial job. I have no idea what "good enough" in terms of results/performance in those three games constitutes but the Raos are seriously disturbed by the fan protests and the PR impact coming from them could have a significant re-setting of what Mrs Desai will continue to tolerate in terms of rubbish results. It is also painfully obvious that Kean has spread his way into the very fabric of the Rovers and the club's ownership and we are looking at massively invasive surgery and chemotherapy needed to get rid of the cancer.

For him to get 3 matches is stupid. Getting a result against spurs will not be easy, but Newcastle could field a weak team generating a false result. Norwich well it's another QPR and any points gained will be spun as a good thing away from home. Why can they not look at his record see it's one of the worst ever in this league and sack him asap, he's been here 1 year almost and if he can't get his players playing decent football within that timescale then he's not up to the job. One can only assume that Kean has been in cohorts with Venky's since long before the takeover, feeding them info and so on to aid their bid. I can't think of any other reason why they would strive to save him, unless he helped ensure their takeover went through.
broadsword Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I'm not sure it's a dream I had or whether someone did actually say to me that a fan had threatened to shoot him.
Mattyblue Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 What a ridiclous way to run a football club. So, he loses the next two, but we win at Norwich, that means he's here till Christmas? What about looking at his whole tenure? That is slightly more representative of his abilities than a win against Norwich City. This short term, brainless approach is going to end in tears.
Hughesy Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 This is my deduction from everything I have heard. Kean has now got himself Spurs, Newcastle and Norwich to save his Managerial job. Where have you got that all from?? Or is it just a guess? Sorry not been on much so may have missed something....
AllRoverAsia Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I'm not sure it's a dream I had or whether someone did actually say to me that a fan had threatened to shoot him. I sawit too. Going to try and find it as I think I recall who posted it but can't remember on which thread. Edit: On the Walter Smith thread from Rovers_786 post *69: ''I hate to say this one fan wrote to the club and I was told that a fan said he will end up shooting kean we dont want to see this happened some rovers fans do need to be carefully what there saying.''
Billy Castell Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I did say that it seems that the Raos, and Kean are so ignorant with their '98% are happy with things' comments that the only way they'd actually realise that they're wrong is if some loon tried to shoot Steve. I was commenting on how divorced from reality they all are, rather than advocating shooting someone before people start kicking off. Even if Kean was wounded in such an incident, he'd probably be in hospital making a statement that it was only 1 fan, and the fact that the Ewood Park area was not like the red army preparing for the battle of Kursk with tanks and heavy artillery firing at him shows that the majority of fans are happy.

I'd echo Rovers_786 on that. No matter how much it's said in jest and/or frustration, much like saying "bomb" in an airport, threatening violence or worse against somebody in public is a very very bad thing to do (here or anywhere else).

I can confirm that saying 'bomb' even as a joke at an airport, results in nakedness in a private room. No no gloves were involved.

It is also painfully obvious that Kean has spread his way into the very fabric of the Rovers and the club's ownership and we are looking at massively invasive surgery and chemotherapy needed to get rid of the cancer. I had been thinking along the lines of Kean getting the next 3 League games with Spurs, Norwich and Chelsea to save himself and much more importantly Rovers. Norwich is not an easy place to go and get a point. After the Chelsea game we could possibly be on 5 points from 11 games and we're well on the way to it being too late for anyone to save us. To include a League Cup game will muddy the waters - mind you the Rao's probably don't know the difference and Kean would seize on the 'positives' from a win v Newcastle.
SergioPeter89 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Look back on our victories, and you will see a recurring scenario: West Brom (Away) 3-1 win - We met a WBA team who was in an incredible bad form. They had just won two out of their ten last games. And they had lost the two last games before they met us, and they lost the three games after being beaten by us. I also have to say, that if it was not for Mark Bunn in that match, we would never have won. Amazing match by the goalkeeper with the short name. Liverpool (Home) 3-1 win - We all know how poor this Pool-team was. We are talking about a team who had only won one single away game this season. They had lost away to Newcastle and at home to Wolverhampton before they met us. The fact that this was Woy Hodgsons last match in charge for Liverpool says it all. There were even people who accused Steven Gerrard of missing a penalty on purpose, just so Hodgson should get sacked. West Brom (Home)2-0 win Again we met a team in crisis. West Brom had lost six out of their last seven games. This was one of the last games were Roberto Di Matteo was in charge. In my opinion, even though I never said it after the match, I thought that West Brom was the better team in this match. They had a lot of shot on goal, and we really struggled against Odemwingie and especially Jerome Thomas. We were incredible lucky when we got a goal from one of their centre backs, before Hoilett scored a wonderful goal. Bolton (Home) 1-0 win - A deserved win, but we were lucky to meet Bolton at the start of their bad form. They went on to lose five games in a row, and one of those games were against us.Bolton had a shot in the post at 0-0, but over 90 minutes, we were the better team. Wolves (Away) 3-2 win - Incredible win! We met a Wolves team who was in form, and had recently won some good games before meeting us. We played an amazing first half, before we were back to the usual crap second half. This is in my opinion the only impressive win under Steve Kean. Arsenal (Home) 4-3 win - We all know how this worked out. We had 3 shots on goal, and manage to score 4 goals. We met a Arsenal team who were conceding a lot of goals. Even talking of sacking Wenger at the time. We were incredible lucky not to concede an equaliser in the end. I have not added the cup wins against QPR, Leyton Orient and Sheff Wed. These games were games we should win 9 out 10 anyway. And against QPR we were lucky to get the win. Hope you understand it, even though English is not my first language.
philipl Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I think they want things clearly resolved before the Chelsea game. They haven't really cottoned on to how deep the emnity and bitterness is towards Steve Kean and his role in the destruction of the club we love. Kean could win the next three and well over 50% of the fans would still want him completely out of the club and the places he's been disinfected.
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Venkys need to quickly get themselves in step with the fans timeline on this. Most of us wanted Kean out after the Newcastle defeat, and most of us will be enraged if he's not gone after Tottenham. If they're thinking more along the lines of 3-4 more games then they're gonna put us in real trouble. To let it get anywhere near December like we did with Ince would be reckless beyond belief. Allardyce's achievement in getting us out of that mess last time was phenomenal and the majority of managers couldn't have done it. If we put ourselves in that position again there's about an 80% chance we'll go down. They need to get that into their thick skulls and grasp that sacking Kean is a matter of extreme urgency. To use an Americanism it needs to be done yesterday.
broadsword Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Venkys need to quickly get themselves in step with the fans timeline on this. Most of us wanted Kean out after the Newcastle defeat, I'm sure I'm not alone in being rather dismayed that he was given the gig in the first place. At the very latest he should've been relieved of his duties in the summer before he could cause major damage. I'm beginning to wonder if the terms of Kean's contract make him virtually unsackable. Or at least, to make him so costly to sack that it's only when things get absolutely unbearable that he's given his marching orders. It's like that blog by Glen Mullan, are Venky's the puppets or puppeteers? Because for him to still be in that job defies common sense.

davulsukur Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Listened to the pune9 podcast last night (great podcast btw)and felt a bit more at ease with the situation. Now i read Kammy's thoughts and its straight back down to earth.

That's just not fair. They routinely threaten us with Kean staying in a job, and he grins and spouts platitudes and digs every chance he gets; its making me physically ill and mentally unstable. Venkeys continuously threatening us with the continuance of Kean is like us lovingly applying leaches to their testis.

Rishton blue Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Don't shoot the messenger...... I've just been told that kean on his monthly trips to India along with a pat on the back from the owners brings home with him gold which they give him to sell on or whatever you can do with it over here. I don't know if you've got to declare a certain amount but he's been caught with more than he should have with him allegedly. Again only a rumour and I don't know anymore but it's come from within brockhall

Then again.....
Glenn Posted October 19, 2011 Author Posted October 19, 2011 I guess it's somebody that's come across this story http://www.mid-day.com/news/2011/jun/160611-Minissha-Lamba-Vikram-Lamba-Steve-Kean-league.htm and extrapolated a little.
Grez Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 The best bit of the article was the comment made by the customs officer. "At the outset, he tried to justify his actions by providing various excuses. As soon as he realised he was in trouble, he started pleading ignorance about the existing customs laws," added the officer. Replace the words "customs laws" and replace with your own humour

Rebels, I have just spilled my coffee, I have to agree, Kean and indeed The Rao Family are making me hate them all, the only love I have is for the Football Club but will not go near Ewood until they depart or begin treating the supporters with respect, I have never met them, only listened to their interviews on Television and they dont come over too well to the general public, I would liken the brother who seems to be the mouthpiece to Jethro in the Beverley Hillbillies who at mid 20s/30s had the intelligence of a 10 year old!! Apologies to many 10 year olds who may be far superior intellectually than the said spokesman!!
