Kenny walked out of the job, Jack was reluctant to improve the side, Ray wasn't up to the managers job, that's life. Show the bloke some repsect.

I'll always be angry he took the best club in the country from 1st to 20th in 18 months.

It's unprecedented.

My point is Harford was always replacebable as a coach, just like Kidd was.

Yuo can find after Harford/Kidd, theres a Steve Kean or Ray Wilkins hanging around somewhere that will do a sound job.

You can't replace Kenny's and Fergusons's unless they are "specail ones".

Kean has had time to show us his skills. For me it doesn't matter what players we have we are doomed with this man in charge. He doen't have a clue. Needs to go and that will be my opinioneven if we go on a 5 match winning run. Out of his depth.

This is my opinion and no one will change it and I will not try to change anyone elses opinion.

While you might think that Ray was replaceable, clearly Kenny didn't - which is why he chose him. If you listen to what Kenny or the players have to say about Ray you quickly pick up what a key role he had at the club in the early 1990s. The fact remains that the history has recorded that Harford and Kenny were very much a partnership and that both were of equal importance to the club at that time. Kenny for his brilliant man-management and Ray for his ability to coach the players and devise tactics. Together they were a winning combination but apart they weren't. Kenny did well at Liverpool because he had the bootroom team behind him. On his own at Newcastle and Celtic he struggled.

I think our present situation shows that Kean is nowhere near the coach, let alone manager, that Harford and Hodgson were. Whilst neither had great success at Ewood as managers they did elsewhere. Somehow I can't see Kean having success anywhere and I suspect he knows that if he is sacked from here his chances of returning to management are pretty slim.

Hopefully a dead man walking. He is trying to give it the 'big un' and talk himself up, trying to give the impression that the pressure doesn't get to him. He is an imposter and hopefully will get what he deserves - the sack.

What is it about crap Rovers managers with four letter surnames? In my Rovers supporting life the worst four have been Iley, Kidd, Ince and now Kean.

Well spotted that man! You are absolutely right as far as you have gone. So I decided to try the same test against my Rovers supporting days too. And guess what? The same result applies all the way back to my first season in 1946, So I can personally attest to that.

So at least Kean can claim that particular "distinction". Probably the only one he will ever have?

I really don't know where you are coming from with this Chris but you need to stop.

You seem to have a problem with Harford and dismissing his achievements and special abilities as a coach - on the grounds that he wasn't a good manager.

It's already been pointed out that he was a reluctant manager, yet still took the position out of a sense of duty and loyalty. There was more going on at Rovers at that time which conspired to our fall from grace than just Harford.

Show a bit of respect and drop it now will you.

Cheers.

Nicholas is managed by Jerome Anderson as well - since Kean became manager, Nicholas usually has defended Kean's record as manager, and not been as critial (of his record) as most other people in the world.

didn't say Harford was not a good coach, I said like Kidd he was replaceable.

Funny how Harford after failing at Blackburn not wanting to be the manager, stayed in lower league management. At least Kidd went back to coachng.

If he didn't want to be a manager and he terribly failed, why did he go to QPR?

And he did have money he spent close to 10 million 95/96.

I understand that we have this magic bond with anyone linked to 94/95 but can't change history, Harfords Rovers career ended a nightmare.

I think its such a shame to the history of this club, had Harford turned down the job we could have stayed at the top for years to come with a good manager.

Tony Parkes knew 97 that he couldn't accept the job in the best interests of Rovers.

That whole Sky segment was a complete joke. They spent about 10 minutes focusing on our penalties against Everton and how they should not have been given and didn't even show Evertons ffs! The whole thing was then summed up by Paul Merson giving advice on how they should handle cheating in the game...seriously that was rich even coming from that coked up, drunken idiot!

They then went on to the letter saying that as it didn't have any names on it it was worthless and seemed more concerned with actually defending Kean and Venkys and seemed to mock the fans for even thinking that they should have any views at all on the running of THEIR club!

After watching the circus I was almost madder at sky than I am at Venkys and Kean

That's 'cos the media don't give a sweet FA about little old Rovers.

If we were Liverpool or Tottenham, Kean would be under massive pressure for the sack and ex-pros would be ridiculing him on a daily basis.

Plus it would be highlighted more how he, and our assistant manager, actually got the job (because of the SEM/Kentaro link) - the fairytale story of a coach, who never managed in his life before, becoming manager of a Premier League club.

Charlie Nicholas has a conflict of interest where Kean is concerned so his punditry on the matter can be dismissed. For the rest of them...

I expect a large part of the media will view with envy the achievements of the most successful town club in the league and will be looking forward to us "going back to where we belong".

I could pick faults in the characters of every single one of the "experts" panel on show today but I won't stoop to their level.

How often do you hear pundits calling for the head of the manager of a club like us?

It was the same routine with Ince.

Maybe we should have a huge sheet of paper outside the Blackburn End against Arsenal, so we can all sign it and hand in the whole thing at reception at the Jack Walker stand.

Granda ran a long report on Everton and their supporters tonight, just the kind of report we need on our plight.

Tony Parkes knew 97 that he couldn't accept the job in the best interests of Rovers.

What stopped the Rovers staying at the top had nothing to do with managers. Jack made a mistake - he was human after all - in not giving Dalglish the money to take us on to the next level during the summer of 1995. Kenny knew it would cost more money but Jack felt, and I well remember the interview he gave to Radio Rovers, that we had enough players already. When Jack realised the mistake he attempted to rectify it but, sadly, the moment had gone.

Ray never said he wouldn't go back into management. He merely felt it was difficult to manage at a club that you had been the number two at. He had done it previously, with some success, but he always said he wouldn't do it again. However, he took the Rovers job on because Jack wanted him and he felt he had to be loyal to the guy who had put so much money into the club.

What really undermined Ray was when Shearer left. Ray had lined up several deals which fell through that summer and when Shearer opted to return to his first love, Newcastle, it proved to be a devastating blow from which he couldn't recover.

Clearly you don't care for Ray Harford. Fair enough, football is a game of opinions. However, his achievements at Ewood Park are now in the history books and he has rightly earned his legendary status alongside Kenny. If only we could turn to Jack, Kenny and Ray today instead of Venky's, Kean and Jensen.
